Like all of our cottages in the newly remodeled Lookout Mountain Inn, the Rock Island Cottage is ideal for a romantic stay or an extended getaway. It offers a comfy king sized bed, two private bathrooms, a large sitting area with two twin trundle beds, a generous kitchenette, and private hot tub! Over the course of your stay, you will have access to the beautiful grounds, the shared swimming pool, jacuzzi and firepit, and a hearty breakfast.



The Space:

Nestled on Georgia's beloved Lookout Mountain, the Inn is just fifteen minutes from downtown Chattanooga while offering easy access to Rock City, Ruby Falls, Covenant College, hiking, rock climbing, paddleboarding, and even hang gliding. The Lookout Mountain Inn allows you to explore the best of both urban and outdoor adventures, as part of a family getaway or a romantic escape!



BREAKFAST

Please join us for breakfast in the Main House Gathering Room at your convenience between 8 & 10 AM daily. Breakfast is included for all guests listed on your original reservation. If you would like to add additional guests to your seating, please contact Guest Services so that they can update your folio.



SEASONAL POOL & HOT TUB

On warmer days, enjoy a refreshing dip in the seasonal pool, surrounded by the natural beauty of Lookout Mountain. Lounge poolside or relax in the hot tub without leaving the inn.

Guest Access:

Lookout Mountain Inn is a 2-acre property in the heart of Lookout Mountain, and there's plenty to enjoy beyond your front door. Your unit features keyless entry for easy, private access. You'll also be free to roam the grounds and enjoy our shared amenities — the pool (seasonal), two shared hot tubs, gazebo, community firepit, dining area, and patio. This unit also features a private hot tub! We just ask that you be respectful of fellow guests as you enjoy the property.



The Neighborhood:

Lookout Mountain Inn sits atop Lookout Mountain, just minutes from iconic attractions like Rock City, Ruby Falls, and the Incline Railway. Yet you're only a short drive from everything downtown Chattanooga has to offer — from the Tennessee Aquarium to the vibrant Southside district. Doesn't matter if your adventure leads up the mountain or into the city, it all starts here.



Fall is a beautiful time of year on Lookout Mountain. Rock City is minutes away and turns its gardens over to the Enchanted Pumpkin Patch from September 18 through October 31, with hand-carved jack-o'-lanterns lighting the trails after dark. Mid-October through early November is peak leaf season here, and Sunset Rock is one of the best places in the region to take it in, with sweeping views of downtown Chattanooga and the valley below turning shades of red and gold. The Incline Railway keeps running through the fall for anyone who'd rather ride to the view than hike to it. Downtown Chattanooga is just a short drive away, with plenty of fun fall events.



Getting Around:

To make the most of your stay, we recommend a car to get around. Each of our units can accommodate a car in either shared parking lot or private driveway.



UBER and Lyft are available throughout the Chattanooga area, in addition to a number of local taxi services. Please note that availability may be extremely limited during peak times.



The city of Chattanooga offers reasonably priced parking on the street and in several public parking lots.



A free electric shuttle bus runs between the Chattanooga Choo Choo and the Tennessee Aquarium with stops at every block. The buses run every 15 minutes, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 10 pm, Saturday from 9:30 am to 11 pm, and Sunday from 9:30 am to 8:30 pm. Bus schedules may vary, please consult the Chattanooga Area Regional Transit Authority website for the most up to date schedules.



Bike Chattanooga offers bike share rentals at 42 self-service kiosk locations all around downtown Chattanooga. With over 300 bicycles and 50 e-bikes this is a great way to explore the city. Visit Bike Chattanooga’s website to learn more.

We are pleased to allow dogs at Lookout Mountain Inn, under specific terms and conditions. See our house rules/notes section for more information.



Deposits:



Please note that guests under 21 or guests residing in the Greater Chattanooga Metropolitan Area will be charged a $200 refundable deposit subsequent to receiving their booking confirmation. Please review our policy forbidding parties, events and unregistered guests to ensure your stay abides with this policy and does not jeopardize your deposit.



No Smoking:



Smoking, vaping, and the use of e-cigarettes are prohibited inside Timberroot properties.

Refer to the rental agreement to see these policies and the additional fees that occur if you fail to follow them.



Pests:



We take great care to ensure our properties are free from pests. Our properties are regularly treated by professional pest control and our staff takes preventative measures to keep pests out.



However, as our properties are located in wooded areas, it is possible for guests to encounter insects and/or small woodland creatures like mice. If you do encounter an unwelcome pest inside your lodging, please contact our Guest Services team immediately so that our grounds team can address the problem as quickly as possible. We ask that guests help us prevent pests by keeping doors and window screens closed and maintaining proper cleanliness during their stay.



By booking with us, you accept that encountering insects and woodland creatures is a possibility and that no refunds will be issued for such instances.



Check-In/Out:



Check-in begins at 4:00 pm on the day of your arrival and check-out is at 11:00 am on your last day. Please contact Guest Services if you would like to request a different arrangement.

Lookout Mountain Inn offers a warm, welcoming experience with an on-site innkeeper to help make your stay effortless. Shortly after booking, you'll receive a digital boarding pass with everything you need, and your keyless entry details will appear as check-in approaches.
