This was a great spot for prep to hike Mt Borah. As advertised, slept comfortably, nice hot shower, well-equipped kitchen and great fireplace for evening board games.

We visited Idaho to climb Borah Peak, and this was the perfect home base for our group! House was clean and spacious, check-in and check-out was a breeze, and our host Natalie was very helpful and communicative.

It’s nothing fancy, but it’s clean and in a great location. This place really grew on us the longer we were here. It was great to be able to sit outside after a day of driving and hiking, and enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds this place. We’d absolutely recommend staying here.

Great location for Mt Borah adventurers. The house was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had all basic necessities. Natalie's communication was great -- prompt, informational, & honest.

Our stay here felt homey and relaxed. The house was comfortable, with a cozy feel to it. It was a great place for our family to read, play games, relax and also go out to enjoy hiking and exploring the area.

We had a great stay at the Mackay Guesthouse at Iron Ore Reserve. Even though it was snowing and very windy during our visit, the house was warm, cozy, and comfortable, making it a perfect place to hunker down. The home was clean, well stocked, and had plenty of space for our group. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, and communication with the hosts was excellent. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Shower door did not slide. No AC. One toilet did not work. No body soap in the showers. No Kleenex in the bathrooms. Entryway had a lip which was easy to trip on. Be nice to have a 12 cup coffee maker. Bathroom exhaust fan did not work. Other than those items, it was great.

Terry thank you for your feedback, so sorry that we didn’t know about some of these things during your day so we could’ve helped too supply or fix things so you would’ve been more comfortable. We will look at making improving in these areas. I haven’t heard anyone say the toilet wasn’t working before or after your stay, but maybe you are referring to the toilet that has a sign that says you just need to hold it down a little bit longer to flush. That’s just the way the old style plumbing is on that toilet unfortunately. As for the shower door, we were aware of that, it just needs to be lifted in order to be opened. It is a little bit tricky I understand, hopefully that’s something that we can replace in the coming year or so. Again, thanks for the feedback on things that we can improve.

For the price it was great.

Nothing fancy but was clean and worked for what we needed. I loved the old door latches and locks. Will probably be staying here again.

Great location for exploring the area and nearby recreational opportunities. House was clean with plenty of space for 6 of us. Beautiful stone fireplace wall. There is on-going construction on the grounds to be aware of. Owner is prompt in responding. There was an odor that we'd get a whiff of now and again.

We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and the unique features of the home and its location. As for the odor, sometimes in a 50-year-old home we’ve noticed that sometimes happens so we take every effort to deep clean and sanitize and deodorizer, and will look into this more. Thank you!

We were very happy with this property. Maybe a bit close to the main road,but it didn’t affect anything we were doing. It has everything you need to make your stay more pleasant.The town’s people were very friendly and I love talking to people about their lives. We stumbled upon an old cemetery to explore, the Mountain View’s were breathtaking, and the historical museum was very interesting. The best was the exploring of the old mine tour. Totally worthwhile to see and experience. Your property was a perfect place to visit all of these wonderful places. Thank you for making it available to travelers like my family.

I wish I could give above excellent for description and communication. The host was very clear with the plan and what to expect. She answered all of my questions within minutes, no matter how small, all throughout the holiday weekend. The property was perfect in size and location for our party. It was decorated very cute and had everything we needed. Very spacious! They had information on the area “things to do”, and everything we needed for our stay: even shampoo! There were a very small number of things needed some attention, but definitely normal wear and tear items that the host was very open to feedback about. She even offered a cleaning discount due to miscommunication with the cleaning crew making check in late, but we hadn’t even left our home yet. This place is great! Such a cute place for a nice getaway. We’ll be back for sure!
