This cabin was fantastic. So homey, cozy, beautiful. We loved the special little touches the hosts put into making it a special place to stay. We will definitely stay here again!

Meg was amazing with her communication and attention to detail. We have stayed in a lot of VRBOs and she made it so lovely and welcoming and had everything stocked so well.

The cabin was beautiful, clean, and had many lovely touches throughout. The hosts were communicative and friendly. The weather wasn’t the best the weekend we stayed, but there was plenty to keep us entertained inside. We had a great time using the ice cream maker to make vanilla ice cream to make brownie sundaes with! We will definitely be coming back!

Meg and Wes are the most kindest and thoughtful hosts from the gift baskets to fully stocked amenities for cooking inside and on the bbq. Property was so rustic and cozy it was very hard for us to leave!!!Thank you again for the amazing memories!!

This was the perfect cabin for a sister retreat! We loved the location, the view, the lake and the extra little things that the hosts included that made it feel so special. The hosts were fantastic to communicate with and the cabin is my new favorite place.

This is the perfect lake getaway - the cabin was immaculate and the thoughtful extras provided by our hosts were very much appreciated. Our hosts were incredibly responsive. Kayaks were so much fun as was simply sitting on the deck watching the hummingbirds. We will definitely return!

We booked this lovely home for my 60th birthday. Me, my husband and two adult children really enjoyed ourselves fishing, swimming, kayaking and relaxing on the dock. (Yes, two fish were caught.) It was a much-needed break and Wes and Meg were wonderful hosts who made us feel welcome even before we arrived. Our family highly recommends the property to anyone who is interested in some much-needed down time. It's perfect! We plan to return for another visit.

How soon can I go back? I can't say enough about this lake house. We hung out on the dock for hours, and when the breeze picked up we hung out on the top deck of the cabin instead--it's protected from wind by trees. When one day it started raining, we moved to the lower deck, which is sheltered by the top deck. Any one of those spots would make the cabin worthwhile, but being able to move between the three takes it to the next level. Meg and Wes were incredible hosts, responsive within minutes when we texted. The bed was super cozy and the house is better stocked than any vacation rental I've been to. We loved our time there.

The cabin was very cozy. The furniture was comfortable and there are enough chairs/seating for 4 people. We stayed on the main floor, the downstairs area is a little tough to access, but is also nicely furnished. We really enjoyed the upper deck, especially in the morning and as the sun set - a beautiful, peaceful view of the lake, with a cool breeze coming off the water. Only downside was no space for suitcases in the upstairs bedroom. I've stayed in several places in the area, and this one was definitely my favorite!

Stayed two nights. The deck is swimmable and we caught fish from the dock in back. Beware the carp they try to eat the smaller fish as you're reeling them in!

This was our second stay with Meg & Wes and it was just as lovely as our first - slightly more so, since we were able to stay for an entire week. They have the quintessential lake cabin. It's so cozy and comfortable - it's everything a lake cabin should be. One of the surprising perks of the cabin is the remarkable well-appointed kitchen. As folks who enjoy cooking, there wasn't anything that we found ourselves wishing we had. It was available - and of respectable quality to boot! Meg & Wes are wonderful hosts; very helpful and communicative. You can tell they love to share the beauty and charm that Sacheen has to offer. We just love everything about Fishtails Cottage and are already looking forward to our next visit :)

We stayed at this property for our 20th anniversary. The setting and lake were gorgeous! From the outstanding deck, to the comfortable bed and linens, to the very well stocked kitchen, we had everything we needed for the perfect, cozy getaway.I highly recommend this property!

Fourth of July Weekend on the Lake

We had a fabulous wekend at Fishtails Cottage. The hosts did a great job of making sure we had everything we could need. The cottage was clean, comfy & cozy. The setting was stunning. We were able to enjoy the kayaks & rowboat. Had a lovely bbq on the deck with family & watched fireworks being set off all around the lake. We will be back again for sure!

We truly didn’t want to leave! We came to town for a family reunion and chose to stay at the cottage—and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. The place was spotless, stocked with everything we could possibly need, plus thoughtful extra goodies from our wonderful host. Evenings on the deck were magical, watching the sun melt into the horizon. One morning, we were treated to the sight of a family of otters playing—it was pure joy! We’re already hoping to return before summer ends, this time with our sons. We’re so grateful to have discovered a place that not only meets but exceeds our expectations

What a gorgeous place this is! We had the most relaxing time and loved every bit of this cozy cabin in the woods. You clearly put so much thought and effort into creating a restful and inviting space. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a full meal. I appreciate all the little touches around the cabin, the blankets, the lights, the coffee and the little welcome kit, the super nice lotion, lovely linens and towels, made it all so very special. It was spotlessly clean and had a fresh welcoming feel. Thank you for being such a gracious host. Everything was seamless and welcoming. Will be back soon! Sandra & Andy

What a find. My partner and I spent three nights in mid August. Talk about an undersell! The pictures and property description while accurate, simply do not capture the charm and warmth of this cabin. It was so homey, and comfortable. It reminded me of the cabins of my youth. It was everything a lake cabin should be. I've stayed in many rentals over the years that felt like a downtown loft or suburban home transplanted to a lake - so much subway tile and greige. The vibe of Meg and Wes' cabin is warm and full of character. The art and furnishing are *chef's kiss*.The kitchen was extremely well stocked, you could cook just about any meal here. The beds were comfy and the deck felt like an outdoor living room with an unobstructed view of beautiful Sacheen Lake instead of a television. The lake itself was quiet and peaceful. I have no doubt that I will book again. This was a stellar booking and two wonderful, communicative, and helpful hosts to boot!

Meg’s lakeside cottage was a great escape. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and perfect for a couple. We kayaked and enjoyed sunsets from the private dock, slept well at night, and made good use of the lake. Serenity was the goal and Meg’s cottage delivered. Meg is a highly responsive and thoughtful host. She provided good traveling advice and a surprise basket of snacks - highly appreciated after a long drive.

This place was amazing. I think the hosts undersell it in their description :-) It was clean, comfortable, and exactly what springs to mind when I think "lake cabin." Check in was easy, the hosts were super communicative, and it felt like an old school short term rental experience (lots of little details thought of by the hosts that made our stay more comfortable). The location can't be beat -- right on the water and the dock is lovely. Will definitely stay again.
