'Croton Nook' - Spacious Studio with Full Eat-in Kitchen, Cozy Getaway
Welcome to this charming apartment in Croton-on-Hudson. This superb rental offers a cozy living room with 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed, perfect for a peaceful stay. Guests can enjoy amenities like WiFi, AC, and heating, making their stay enjoyable. With a bathroom equipped with a hairdryer and shower, guests will have everything they need for a comfortable stay. Book now and enjoy everything this apartment has to offer. House located close to a train station.
The entire Studio apartment is located on the FIRST floor of a multifamily building with a separate entrance. There may be occasional noise from upstairs neighbors, such as footsteps.
I live in a neighboring house and I try to meet and greet all guests. The apartment offers privacy if you prefer but I can also suggest things to do and provide directions to nearby attractions and landmarks as needed.
Within walking distance to local cafes and restaurants. Its location is in a village of Croton on Hudson, 45 min from NYC, along the Hudson River. There are sidewalks on the main streets of the village, so there is no need to get into the car if you wish to enjoy a cup of coffee or an ice-cream cone. The closest car rental is just 16 min away by foot if you desire to explore nearby river towns or farms. House is in close proximity to many local restaurants, a supermarket, nature trails and historical sites which makes it an ideal place for a weekend getaway, holidays celebration or business travel. Beautiful landscapes.
Tap water is from municipal supply. To keep a clean house and keep allergens away, please don’t wear outside shoes indoors as there will be individual slippers provided.
There is designated parking for 1 car is provided on the private driveway (see photo of designated parking area). There is also additional free street parking for guests arriving in 2+ cars.
Although Croton on Hudson is a suburb of New York City, there are some wild animals and birds that you may encounter from time to time. During summer time there are blue jays and other birds living in magnolia trees near the house and on occasion deer and raccoons could be spotted. A beautiful hawk lives nearby and can be seen in the morning as it flies above the house.
Away from industry and pollution, enjoy a breath of clean air and the outdoors. If you go hiking, take note that poison ivy has been spotted in the area and, as always, there are risks of ticks in any woods and tall grass, so dress appropriately. There is abundant information about ticks and tick bites on internet, it is worthwhile to be informed.
Streets in the village are illuminated but driveways tend to be a bit darker. It is noticeably darker at night on the street, compared to a large city like New York, but as an added bonus, you could see stars! Mars’ red dot is easily seen with a naked eye as well as white dots of Jupiter and Saturn. Orion's belt, Ursa Major and Minor, Vega, Polaris and many more to be discovered.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
This house was originally built by a mason and his family, who was working on the Croton Dam in the early 1900s.
Even though Croton on Hudson is a relatively small village, it is not “lost in the woods” and has a walk score of 62. The roads may be somewhat active during rush hour, although there is no traffic jams or congestion in the village, to and from train station. As soon as you leave the populated area and go into a natural park like the Tea Town Lake Reservation, you can enjoy nature to its fullest with 1000 acres of protected terrain and 15 miles of hiking trails.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad
Croton on Hudson is a quiet and welcoming community 45 min away from Grand Central, NYC. Croton has beautiful views of Hudson river nearby, surrounded by wooded hills and creeks. Rich with history, art and nature it is truly a weekend retreat. It is a place of several seasonal festivals like Clearwater Music and the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze.
• Close to the train station (‘Croton Harmon’).
• Walking distance from everything.
• Black Cow – a great local place to have a cup of coffee.
• Blue Pig – a local ice cream shop with a great selection of seasonal flavors.
• A pedestal “dummy streetlight”, on the way to coffee shop you will pass a street light, one of just three left in New York State, a little piece of history.
• Parks, bicycle trails and hiking.
• There is also a ski area (‘Thunder Ridge’) a short drive away.
• Teatown Lake Reservation has 1000 acres and 15 miles of trails.
• Croton Gorge Park has 97 acres by the stunning waterfall from the New Croton Dam. Weddings and picnics often take place here.
• Van Cortlandt Manor, a National Historic Landmark, built in 1665 by the Dutch. Hosts the Lantern Blaze in the fall
• Croton Landing Park offers beautiful views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. Contains a 9/11 memorial tribute. Great location for cycling or picnics.
• Croton Point Park hosts the annual Clearwater Festival in June (since 1966) with 15,000 visitors and live music.
Although having a car makes it easier to get around, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself in the area without one. A respectable walkscore of 62 with a plenty of sidewalks in the village and places to eat and drink located relatively close. There is Enterprise car rental in Croton.
