This peaceful retreat features private hiking trails winding through wooded acreage, a serene pond right outside the back door for relaxing or fishing, and a babbling creek. In an ideal central location just a short drive from the Lake of Egypt, local wineries, the Shawnee National Forest and several state parks, it is the perfect base for your next family adventure in beautiful Southern Illinois!
During your stay you will have access to the 75-acre property with two ponds, a few creeks and two miles of hiking trails. Also feel free to visit the chapel and covered bridge.

Clean, peaceful and big for the price We stayed as a family of 4 for a week. My son loved fishing the pond. He caught and released several fish every day. We hope to stay here again when we visit the area to see our family in Herrin.

This property was everything it said and so much more. We caught fish everytime we went fishing . The covered bridge and little church we definitely an added benefit. Lots of trails for any 16 yo boy to explore. The house had so much room and was very spacious. We truly enjoyed our stay and when we come back in the area, we will for sure see if it is available. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

The location is fantastic. Sitting on the deck looking at the pond was a highlight. The grounds are also nice. I had a few questions and the host was quick to respond and any glitches were dealt with good communication and quickly.

We really enjoyed this location! The property is a real bonus- we appreciated the pond and the walking trails right at the house! It’s also in close proximity to Ferne Clyff State Park and an hour away from Garden of the Gods. Nice and very clean! Having 2 tables was helpful for meals and games. Super easy check in!

Very Awesome stay. Very relaxing. The unit was very clean. Communication was awesome. Awesome property - hiking trail was rock paved and it is a beautiful hike. Fish were biting in both ponds. Looking for a place to relax and connect with nature? Book this one!

We had 4 adults and two girls for 4 nights. Plenty of room for all of us. House is much larger than it appears from the outside. 2 ponds on site, And very close to lake of Egypt. Girls enjoyed the paddle boat that was there. Husband and son in law enjoyed fishing the ponds. Hannah was quick to reply to all texts. House has two living rooms which gave a little separation from kids to adults. Would have been nice to have a tv in each living area. Would definitely stay again if in the area. We even met Hannah’s husband and dad and they gave the guys some fishing tips for the ponds. Seem like a great family.

This house is very roomie and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked small appliances, everyday cooking tools, and common spices.The property is beautiful and well maintained also. This property has a very safe feeling. I would diffently recommend and restay here.

Place was more than advertised. Great location to escape and enjoy peace. Host was amazing. We were in a baseball tournament and didn't know how to book the house due to it being a double elimination tournament. Hannah worked with us to help us extend our stay in the same house. Thankful for her to make this trip very memorable.
