Staying at Mother Allie's House is like being a part of history. The house is charming and filled with artifacts, books, photos and more celebrating this lively family. The house is comfortable and well stocked. The hosts are communicative and attentive. We enjoyed our stay enormously!

Staying in Rosalynn Carter’s childhood home made our trip to Plains, Georgia the perfect experience. The home was comfortable and filled with so much information about the Carter family. We would recommend staying in this home.

I loved staying at the house as it was so very comfortable and relaxing. Everything you could need was available including setups for coffee and tea. There was plenty of towels and washcloths. The decor was spectacular with history lessons and antiques throughout the home. Each room in the house was amazing. I also loved that they checked to see if I had any needs. We loved the view off of the back porch and it was a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee. The home was very close to all of the places that we needed to go to in Plains.

What a wonderful house, clean, comfy and packed w beautiful things and memories. Hope we can come back when coming Plains again. Great peanut snack pack, we appreciated and enjoyed. And as a gardener, how sweet to leave a pack of flower seeds for the butterflies. Can’t wait to plant them

We loved our stay at Mother Allie’s house. The house was immaculately clean and just as described. My history-loving teenager loved all the notes and photos around the house. The early morning sunrises from the breakfast nook were magical. The location was perfect for us to explore Plains and the surrounding area. The hosts were responsive and easily reached. We look forward to staying again!

Resting on the porch was SO relaxing My husband was impressed with the museum quality of the furnishings and setting. We could not have been happier.

What an amazing house! We loved stepping back in time with the decor. The house was immaculate! I had the best time walking the house several times trying to take it all in. Courtney was a wonderful host! Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece of history.

The host was welcoming and the house was very comfortable. The home has updated sofa, bathrooms, mattresses and kitchen. The back deck was a delight. This home is full of memorable photos, books written by and about the Carter presidency and their life of good works. We enjoyed our special time in Plains.

We had the best time staying at Mother Allie’s house. It was like stepping back in time and we got to learn all about her legacy. We enjoyed the decorations, documents, photos, and cookbooks. We highly recommend staying at this clean, comfortable, and historic home. Everything was wonderful. The house is charming and filled with memorabilia. Plains is like a tiny time capsule. We walked to downtown from the house and it was a very nice stroll. Visited the shops, found some treasures. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Mother Allie’s House in Plains, GA. The home is full of history and character, and you can truly feel the connection to the town's past the moment you walk in. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared for guests.The location is perfect — just a short walk or drive to Plains' historic downtown, President Carter landmarks, and the peaceful small-town scenery that makes this area so special.The host was welcoming, responsive, and clearly cares about preserving the home's heritage while making sure visitors have all the modern comforts they need.If you appreciate historic homes with personality and charm, this is a wonderful place to stay. We'd happily come back again if in the area.

We stayed at Mother Allie’s House for two nights and really enjoyed our visit. The house is very clean, and the bathrooms and kitchen are updated and well cared for. The kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and communication from the host was superb throughout.What makes this property truly special is the history. The hosts have clearly taken great care to create a meaningful experience for guests, decorating and furnishing the home with items connected to the Smith and the Carter families. We especially appreciated the information they provided about each room, including whose room it was, details about the furnishings, and fun facts like the BB in the wall in the front bedroom.One of the coolest moments was looking at a photo of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter in the very room where we were standing. We also loved sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch. It rained while we were in town, but it was so peaceful to sit on the porch and listen to the rain.The owners have created a truly unique experience, especially for anyone visiting Plains to learn more about the Carters and their family. Highly recommend.

Dates should be to Sun, Mar 29. Absolutely "the best"! Clean, awesome showers/bathrooms, comfortable beds, wonderful pillows! So very interesting and historical. Anything you could want or need is made available. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back, though. And, I must explain our trip...we are 65 and 63, traveling with our 10 year old granddaughter, my 84 y/o mom and 92 y/o father-in-law. Democrats to the max. My grandfather passed on election day 1976, lived long enough for his vote for Jimmy Carter to count, that was his last wish! So, us spending the night in Rosalyn Carter's childhood home was "the best" part of our spring break trip. Our granddaughter did not know who Jimmy Carter was when we left for our Florida vacation. Now she can share all she has learned with her 4th grade class and teachers. I am so glad she loves to learn. Anyone thinking about staying here, definitely should stay!!! We certainly made some amazing memories here.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Mother Allie’s House in Plains, Georgia. The home has been beautifully restored while preserving so much of its rich history, making it a truly unique place to stay. Every room reflected the character of the house, and it felt like stepping back in time while still enjoying all the modern comforts of home.We visited with our two sons (ages 8 and 12), and the location was perfect for exploring Plains. We specifically traveled to learn more about Rosalynn Carter’s Butterfly Trail, and Mother Allie’s was the ideal home base. There was so much information shared about the trail and the history of the area, which made our visit even more meaningful.The property is conveniently located close to all of the important sites in town, making it easy to walk or drive to everything we wanted to see. If you’re looking for an authentic, historical experience in Plains, especially if you’re interested in the legacy of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter or traveling with children who enjoy history, we highly recommend staying here.
