Rustic, Secluded Retreat Center near Copalis Beach

Sursum Corda is designed for small groups to enjoy the beauty of the Washington coast in simple, comfortable accommodations. The facility includes a large patio and outdoor fire pit, a 30ft. yurt for prayer and meditation and walking trails through old growth forest.
There are 22 beds, located on two floors, and 6 bathrooms in the Main house, as well as a spacious kitchen, Living room/Dining area, a media center with internet and wide-screen TV and a small library. May thru September, 2 night minimum.

You can drive onto the beach 2 miles south at Ocean City or take a short walk through the dunes to Copalis Beach. Copalis Beach is the razor clam capital of the world and there is great fishing nearby as well. We are located just north of Ocean Shores, WA, which offers shopping, entertainment and the Quinault Beach Casino.
We have a strict NO pet policy in the building. Animals are welcome on the property, but not in the building.

Large property. Rooms for all 19 of us. Parking for all. Loved the nature trail and the gas fire pit. Would stay here again if the cats can be herded!

This is a very large retreat center. It had a lot of rooms. More than we needed. The living area had a nice kitchen and lots of seating for meals. Nice property overall.

Excellent location for our family reunion. The kitchen was large and well equipped. It was great to have the 3 large tables so everyone could eat together and the cousins could mix. The kids liked the downstairs living room and it was great to have so many rooms so the teenagers could have their own rooms. Grill and firepit were great. Close to the beach - lots of swimming and some kite flying. We went up to Lake Quinnault and Klaloch and went hiking in Enchanted Valley. It was wonderful to get everyone together with Grampa and the property was a great location. Everyone was comfortable. Price was very fair.

This place is great for a Men's Retreat, Youth Retreat, Family reunion, or a rustic women's retreat (depending on the women:) Our men enjoyed themselves very much!George & Mary were very kind and helpful. The Yurt was great for gatherings, and the Men also enjoyed the firepit. Thank you so much!

Ms.Carol, As always the home was well stocked, clean, and amenable to all of our groups needs. We are a group of around 20 people of all ages that enjoy hosting our retreat here every year. Be it cozy at the tables sharing company and food, huddled around the firepit out back, or sharing one of the games or puzzles so thoughtfully stocked we build memories and joy every moment shared here.

This was our second trip to Sursum Corda for our annual church women’s retreat. The facility is well appointed with everything we needed. Kitchen well stocked with everything we could want. Our ladies love this retreat center and we’ll be back again next year. Our host Carol anticipated everything we could need. We love this place!

What a great house for our work event! 13 bedrooms so everyone had a space to go to when needed but lots of common areas to enjoy visiting with one another. A very full kitchen with everything you need. Highly recommend for anyone having a family get together or small work retreat.

We stayed three nights with our large family group in August 2026. The home is large and beautifully situated, but cleanliness and maintenance were significant issues, especially considering the substantial cost.We were asked not to wear shoes inside, and everyone complied, yet white socks quickly became brown/black from the floors. Before use, every surface in an upstairs bathroom was dirty, with cobwebs as well. The downstairs bathroom had areas that appeared dirty or mildewed. I cleaned the upstairs bathroom and stove myself.The upstairs bathtub leaked into the basement after normal use, and a downstairs shower did not drain properly. The hosts came Saturday and removed hair from the drain. We were also asked to limit showers to three minutes. One chair broke, and others appeared previously repaired or not sturdy.Our granddaughter was injured in a fall outside the first evening, so the family staying downstairs left the next morning before taking photos of their dirty bathroom or socks.The host later said she uses two cleaners for 10 hours between groups, supervised the cleaning before our arrival, and that carpets are steam cleaned between groups. She refunded our cleaning fee, which we appreciated, but it was only a small portion of our total stay.Given the overall cost, we expected the home to be substantially cleaner and better maintained. Fantastic location and amenities for a family reunion! We were in awe at how many rooms there were here, and seating/eating areas for a group. The beds were comfy, SO many bathrooms and showers, house was well appointed, and the grounds were lovely to explore. We plan on booking our family gatherings here every year now. Carol was so welcoming and helpful, thank you for sharing your wonderful VRBO!

Secluded retreat

Easy beach access, wonderful spacious accommodations. Plenty of room for group meals and activities. Fairly close to Ocean Shores, a market, several drive out beaches. Pleasant surroundings, roomy patio, fire ring with rustic seats. Just a fun experience Wonderful Hosts!!

Great retreat

We enjoyed the retreat center for the second time. Plenty of room for group meetings and individual quiet time. The yurt was fantastic for yoga.
