Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry you felt uncomfortable during your stay, but I would like to clarify a few important points for future guests. This is a historic Colonial property, as shown in the listing photos, with much of its original character and beautiful wood trim still intact. It is a well-maintained, beautiful home with a great deal of historic charm, rather than a modern, newly constructed vacation rental. I am personally at the property for the cleaning and final preparations before and after each guest stay. Early access was not granted. You arrived approximately 1½ hours before the scheduled check-in time without permission and chose to wait on the front porch. When I arrived to complete the final preparations, I was surprised to find you already there. I take safety concerns very seriously. If you were concerned about the smoke detectors, the appropriate response would have been to message me so I could address the issue immediately. Instead, the batteries were removed from the detectors. Removing batteries from smoke detectors creates a safety concern rather than resolving one. The home does not advertise central air; window and portable AC units are provided for cooling. The portable unit in the living room requires a window for ventilation. If you had concerns about the AC setup, window security, cleanliness, insects, or anything else, I would have welcomed the opportunity to address them during your stay. I’m disappointed that the home did not meet your expectations, but many of the concerns raised were never brought to my attention while you were here. I cannot correct an issue I am not made aware of. My goal is always to provide a safe, comfortable, well-maintained home while preserving the historic character and charm that makes this property unique.
