We hold the certificate of compliance from Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority - meaning we are meeting all the Covid safety requirements.
Colonial style villa is surrounded by tropical forests, rice paddies and rubber plantation.
The private house staff takes care of all your wishes, from room service to the chef preparing all your meals.
We offer you 4 separate rooms, each with its own verandah and bathroom. If you are searching for a quiet, relaxing and nature-surrounded vacations away from the crowds,
this is the place.
The swimming pool is newly built, 45 feet long and has a toddler’s area. It is located directly in front of the bedrooms and is equipped with comfortable pool furniture and pool lights, including the “star” lights for night swims.
In addition to the villa, there is a spacious service house on the property. It is occupied by a gardener, who keeps the property tidy. The fully equipped kitchen in the service house is used by our experienced chef.
Tara Garden offers pure relaxation with genuine forest sounds. If you are searching for a quiet, relaxing and nature-surrounded vacations away from the crowds,
this is the place. Villa is an idyllic venue for family reunions and get-togethers of friends. Each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bathroom, air condition and exit to a veranda. You can enjoy in your own privacy or in the company of your fellow-guests.
We can arrange luxury unforgettable experience from one place - sandy white Bentota beach, water sports, boat safari, visit to the fish market, turtle hatchery, Galle, Kandy and many more...
We’ll be happy to arrange and guide you to visit a more remote place as well (Yala national park, Sigiriya, Candy, Elephant orphanage etc.).
In case you would like to know:
- 10min to the beach by shuttle or tuk-tuk
- 10min to the supermarket by shuttle or tuk-tuk
- 10min to water sport center by shuttle or tuk-tuk
- airport transports and all sorts of round trips in Sri Lanka in comfortable van can be arranged from the villa
- Ala carte, BBQ and fresh seafood are available at the villa
- daily housekeeping, 24h security and assistance offered

- villa manager 24/7 for assistance
- wedding planning can be arranged on request
- wi-fi available (as well as portable hotspot)

We are Kate, Primoz and Sudu. As creators and owners of Tara Garden, we joined the European model of comfortable accommodation with fascinating Sri Lankan traditions.

Sudu is an experienced manager of three luxurious villas and a wedding hall and has been running a successful business for 15 years. We fell in love with Sri Lanka in 2014, when we and our three kids were Sudu’s guests in one of his villas. He made sure that we had the best possible experience of this diverse country. We became enchanted by the animals, greenery, constant warm temperatures and most of all - people. Sudu has offered us an amazing personal insight into the lives Sri Lankans. After 14 days we weren’t leaving as tourists but as family.

We have decided to invest in renovation of an old colonial villa. With its quiet garden, tea plantation, rice field and variety of animals visiting daily, the property had a special positive and calming vibe. After 3 years of renovation Tara Garden was born. We kept the villa’s colonial design and enriched it with modern minimalism, comfort and spotlessly clean facilities. We made sure that ourselves and our guests will enjoy the western luxury in a Sri Lankan environment. Sudu is taking the best possible care of the house, garden, pool and other facilities.
Our chef will spoil you with magnificent meals and our driver will take you sightseeing around the island or help you uncover secret locations. Your holiday in Tara Garden will be an unforgettable experience.
