Affordable Lodging Near the Beach

Casa Tranquila is a half block from the beach that stretches for 15 miles... great for meandering, digging in your toes, and sunset watching. Many restaurants are within walking distance of the house... in fact, the whole town is within walking distance. When you are ready to visit downtown Puerto Vallarta we are only two blocks from the bus stop to explore on your own. You can see the video of the house in youtube as: Casa Tranquila Inglés mov

We offer what is called locally a 'bungalow' with 1 bedroom, private bathroom and full kitchen that can be rented by the day or by the month. The bedroom features a double bed and ceiling fans, there is a foldout sofa bed in the livingroom, and your own patio with outdoor table for fresh air dining. The kitchen is fully equipped and we include a starter package of our own locally grown and roasted coffee from Café Superior. Lush tropical gardens surrounding the pool and patios encourage you to relax and enjoy paradise here at Casa Tranquila.

We offer room service from our very own Gringo's Books and Coffee Shop to your patio or poolside. Enjoy a light breakfast, lunch, or snack whenever you like... a rich latte or a refreshing frozen mocha might be just what you need and we deliver. You can browse our bookshelves to your heart's content. We have a large selection to choose from in used books and new books by local authors.

We will be happy to pick you up at the airport with a stop at the major grocery store and the bank on your way to Bucerias. If you like, we can stock your kitchen prior to your arrival.

We can provide you with tours of the surrounding mountains, beaches, and towns as well as kayaking in the lagoon and bird watching. In the winter (November to March), whales come to play and give birth just off shore. We have conscientious, ecologically-concerned guides, in whatever size boat you prefer, to show you our abundant marine life. Solo circumnavigator Pat Henry, author of 'By the Grace of the Sea: A Woman's Solo Odyssey Around the World,' offers one- and three-day sailing courses on the Southern Cross.

Joann is available for eclectic and intuitive healing massage in her studio here at Casa Tranquila. We can also arrange for a manicure, pedicure, rejuvenating facial, hair cut and color, and hair braiding at your convenience right here on your patio.

Some pets are welcome or you can use ours.

Great Stay

Loved our little “casita”. Clean, and the small kitchen has everything. Everyone was so helpful and lovely people. Would love to go back, hoping to make it happen!

Endroit charmant. Employés chaleureux.

Nous avons bien aimé notre séjour. Le WiFi pourrait être meilleur. C'est situé tout près de l'action (bar et restaurant) ce qui vient avec du bruit. Appartement basique, très propre. Des améliorations simples pourraient améliorer la qualité du séjour.

Family vacation

We loved our stay. We had everything we needed and love the owners. So hospital kind and generous. Patricia and Joanne helped us with our dog. Their dog was so sweet and kitties were lovely. We adored Lucille and Grabriella. They anticipated everything we needed. Lucilla shopped for us and a guided tour through the little town and bargained for us. I hurt my toe and lucilla massaged my foot for 3 days. And gave me her special cream she made me for healing. Gabriella washed all our clothes. And they all took care of our little dog. Rouslan that runs Gringos book store welcomed us with coffe and tea first morning and cared for anything we needed on the weekends when rest of staff was home for day off. And did amazing security for us every night. We loved everything about our day. Thank you thank you. To all.

Our stay

Very pretty property and close to evèrything. The staff are terrific and go out of their way to help you. There are 2 bars/restaurants across street that can be loud at night. Apartments are small and suitable for 2 people and crowded for more. Mattresses should be upgraded to queen size. Pool was a problem while there which was upsetting to guests.

Fantastic Stay!

Just a great vacation. Patricia is over the top helpful and she went 6/6 on every suggestion she made for restaurants. Rusland makes a great cup of coffee so make sure you add that to your list. The property feels like home, we’re looking forward to our next visit. Thanks so much.

Casa tranquila muy bueno!

Myself and three friends had a wonderful 2 night stay at Casa Tranquila. Location is fantastic as is the price. If you're looking for a very authentic Mexican style lodging, this place is for you. the owners and staff go over and above Being helpful and accommodating. I owe them a big debt of gratitude for helping me recover my knapsack that was lost in a taxi upon arrival. Kudos to all.

Great location with a sense of community.

First time in Bucerias - enjoyed the location, pool and communal feel. Negative: the unit is bare bones, a little tired looking and the bed is quite awful. Would stay here again but not that unit (assuming other units have a more comfy bed).

Wonderful experience

Everything was perfect about our stay. The place is beautiful and serene. The hosts are just amazing. They go beyond the ordinary to the extraordinary always available to help. If you’re lucky enough to book at this beautiful place don’t hesitate, just do it!

Peace and happiness!

Our living quarters were quite small but very well worth it! We absolutely loved the pool which was just outside our door! The common area and all the people were fantastic! We enjoyed being so close to the beach, so many resturants, and a short walk to the town square. We felt very safe in the area. Our time here went too quickly!

Perfect spot for us!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. The room was clean and the little kitchen was utilized more than I had imagined. We especially enjoyed the friendly staff, Ruslan, Lucila, and Gaby, and experienced and story-filled owners Patricia and Joanne. They were so very helpful and fun to talk to. The pool was also well maintained and the overall ambience of the property was very fitting of a beachside get-a-way. And the location was great as we desired to by very close to the lively part of town. We were a block from the beach, 2 blocks from the market, near so many restaurants and activities, and only a few blocks from the bus to PV. We recommend it unless you are looking for something more out of the way and more buffeted from the close by awesome live music. Great spot!

Beautiful place. Wonderful people, perfect location, quiet, welcoming and felt safe on my own!

Fantastic place

We loved our stay at casa tranquila. The pool was really nice to have and clean everyday. The walk to the beach was easy. Gabby, the caretaker was super friendly. We will definitely be back!!

#1 PARADISE TRANQUILITY ~ 100% AMAZING!

Patricia & Joanne were such amazing hosts! This most amazing place I would love to move to, in fact I cried while the taxi was waiting to take me away. The kind of place you just do not want to leave. So convenient to walk anywhere, the beach is so close, handy mini mart 1/2 block away, short walk to catch the bus, food & coffee within blocks, quiet, easy parking, safe, wonderful people everywhere you turn, you receive smiles( : Massages on beach! My favorite place I have ever chosen to stay, the plants all around told me to Stay! So Private, So Safe! The two employees were so sweet friendly & helpful. Very special ladies( : I would rate this place 5 STARS & then SOME! I am Forever Thankful especially at such a strange time as "pandemic" epic strange times in the history of LIFE on planet earth!

Living in a garden

We stayed 9 nights at Casa Tranquila and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hosts Patricia and Joanne were so lovely and accomodating. There staff, Lucila, Gaby and Ruslan were also so helpful. They all treated us so nicely. Casa Tanquila is like staying in a garden in the middle of Bucerias. Only one block from the beach and surrounded by many great restaurants. You could walk anywhere in a matter of minutes. Our one bedroom apartment was clean, had a very comfortable bed and a small but well stocked kitchen. Although our apartment didn't have air conditioning, there were floor and ceiling fans in all rooms. After the first night, we didn't miss the air conditioning. Note: other apartments at Casa Tanquila do have air conditioning if that is an absolute must. The pool was also beautiful and very refreshing. Casa Tranquila also had available for no charge, beach chairs and umbrellas as well as bicycles. The only negative was a bar across the street that once in a while was pretty noisy at night. We didn't let that spoil our stay. I highly recommend Casa Tranquila as it is so well situated, has a wonderful staff and is nicely priced.

Sweet little place

Rapunzel's Balcony

We stayed in the room that overlooks the street. We used the balcony to meet many locals that we now call friends. The hostesses are absolutely wonderful. The pool is larger than most you will find in the area. The environment is welcoming and homey, and they have a wonderful selection in the book store. Thank you Patricia and JoAnn!
