Perched high atop Castle Rock Bluffs, abutting the Rock River with views for days, this wooded home-site is surrounded by State Park and State Forest. Walking distance to an abundance of trails, the hunting areas of Castle Rock State Park or fishing on the Rock River with a boat launch 1 mile north of the property. Canoe or kayak from Castle Rock Park or sign up for a hosted trip out of Oregon, IL. Many great restaurants, bike trails, and hiking trails nearby.

*** You are required to sign a lease for this property, which will be emailed to you after your reservation is processed, and also to submit a guest registry prior to receiving your door code for accessing the property.

We have a cell phone signal booster, you should get LTE speed data reception on your mobile devices, as well as, Starlink WiFi internet at +50Mbps.

The property is now equipped with a pay per use EV Charger (48A), and a RV electrical and water hookup (additional charge applies).

Family reunion

Spacious Get-away

We really enjoyed our stay. The spacious lot allowed plenty of room for out door activities and games. The deck was good size and the beds were comfortable. Would recommend to anyone.

Girls Weekend

Excellent property and location

This is a very nice home on the river. The beds were incredibly comfortable! The owner is extremely responsive and helpful throughout if you need anything. Highly recommended.

First vacation home rental

Wonderful location!

Beautiful home on the river with lots of privacy. Saw bald eagles and had a wandering flock of chickens visit daily. Most enjoyable stay

QUITE AND RELAXING

House was immaculate, it exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. The property owner was very informative and gave us directions and recommended places to go and things we could do during our stay. If your looking for a quite location this is the place!

Great location for a family reunion

The house was a relaxing and well-stocked home base for our siblings weekend. The kitchen and dining room were our hub. The bedroom set up worked perfectly for us to all have our own spaces and re appreciated the nice bathrooms. Loved the fire pit and stargazing at night. star gazing at night.

Girls Weekend

A great stay for a girl’s weekend. Did a float on the Rock River (boat landing only 3 minutes away) and played games on the porch, enjoying the beautiful view and sunset. Kitchen stocked with plenty of towels, knives, bowls, can opener, etc. Would book here again for next summer’s weekend.

Worth it!!

Very relaxing place during a very stressful and emotional time. Rented for my family to be together during my father's funeral. Would highly recommend also as a great vacation place. I would like to go back with my family to spend more time and explore the area more.

Family reunion

Thank you so much for the wonderful home you provided for us! The proteas very clean and comfortable. Beds were amazing! We had plenty of room for 10 adults and 2 babies. We were very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay and had room to have family that lives in town over. Thank you again!

Very comfortable, very relaxing

Rock River Rental is a very clean, comfortable and spacious home. Lots of space for everyone (inside and out) and just about everything you could need to make your stay great. Nick is a great host and was very prompt in responding to all inquiries. Can't say enough about the surrounding area. A few state parks and forests are within a 15 minute drive. The Rock River is just outside the house. Great place to relax and spend some time in nature. Would gladly stay here again.

Easy to relax

This is a nice house for a retreat. The layout is great in terms of everyone having their own space. The one *tiny* note that isn't obvious in the pictures is that there isn't anyplace inside where you can really sit and look at the river view - you need to be outside, which (because we went in June) was super buggy. Not a huge deal - just something to know! Otherwise was a nice visit.

Engagement Weekend Celebration

We were visiting Grand Detour to celebrate our sons engagement and were delighted to find this home in Oregon only 10 minutes away from the festivities! The deck overlooking Rock Lake was a wonderful place to start every morning with a cup of coffee and the family room with comfortable and plentiful couches was a relaxing place to unwind after a day on the river. Thanks to Nick for detailed directions from Chicago and his quick response to our thermostat assistance! We appreciated all the amenities this home had to offer.

Our stay was very pleasant but was dismayed at the width of the bathroom doors! I had a stroke in May and need a walker to get around. Needless to say I couldn’t go into either bathroom with my walker. The house was well equipped.
