This was probably once a great house to stay at but could be kept up a little bit better. I think my main message in an informative review without being harsh would be to say that the listing makes it seem nicer than it is. True the views are amazing but the location is more remote than the listing implies. It takes a good 30-40 minutes from Tamarindo beach driving down dirt roads and through some impoverished neighborhoods to get to the house. One night the locals living near the roads leading to the home decided to try to stop our vehicle with a rope that was strung across the street in an attempt to maybe stop us for some reason. Luckily my wife speaks Spanish fluently and asked them sternly what was going on and they immediately dropped the rope and let us pass. A lot of the stuff is out of the control of the owner and the property manager (like the behavior of the locals, the frog living in the toilet, the ants on the couch, the spiders everywhere)…I mean, that’s not something they can control.
