I loved my 6-day stay at this beautiful hotel. This is a great discovery for me in the Berkeley area, and I plan to stay there again when I'm in town visiting family. The marina is so peaceful and relaxing, and the hotel property is quite large with many places to walk and enjoy the unique setting. Next time, I'll look into how much more a room facing the marina (with a larger balcony) would be. The view must be spectacular. The pool and sauna were great. We had dinner twice at the restaurant. It's expensive but very good! All of the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My room (3228) only had (lovely) down filled pillows and comforters, but the staff changed everything for me because of my allergies. The refrigerator was large and not a filled minibar fridge. There were 2 problems with my room: seating and curtains. The upholstered chair smelled very musty, and I couldn't sit in it. The desk chair was very worn but comfortable. The curtains weren't entirely "black out" because they left room on the sides. The bigger problem is that there is no sheer liner curtain for privacy, but I saw them on other windows of the hotel. When I booked, I was disappointed that the parking was so expensive. Once there, I saw that there is a lot of free parking available right outside the hotel property along the road with minimal traffic. But when I asked if they had handicap parking, I was thrilled to find out that they did, and it was free! So glad I had brought my hangtag!
