It was lovely to stay in the house, a bit shabby chic, spacious and warm. The gardens were very nice. The kitchen is very small and a bit under equipped, more suited to just heating foods and one pot cooking. Easy walk to town. Camilla was very attentive and accommodating host . We did find it a bit strange that there was clothing in the cupboards and drawers.

Spectacular sunset view from balcony. House and gardens were absolutely stunning. Great location - easy 20 minute walk to town. Close to the Cherry Tree walk. Camilla, the owner, was great to communicate with and looked after us well when some basic supplies ran out. Our dogs had the best time ever exploring the property! Small kitchen - basic one-pan cooking only. The owners live right behind the property - their house adjoins the main house we rented, but it is still private. They also rent out a small cottage on the same property so some cars were coming and going up the driveway so we needed to watch the dogs so they didn't run out the gate. But all in all, we had a wonderful weekend. Hanging on the balcony watching the sunset with a glass of vino was pretty special. A beautiful spot.

The house is cute and gardens lovely with new pool.coming soon. We loved the friendly chooks. The hosts recommendations for restaurants were perfect for pur family. we had a great time !

Camilla is a great host, and the house is so perfect. The character of the house can be felt throughout, it just has a presence that can be felt. From the windows and colonial doors you can take in beautiful elevated views of the countryside or the landscaped gardens, mornings or late afternoons with the settling mist or beautiful sunsets from the covered verandahs.The sitting room is a lovely place to just sit and read. The bedrooms are comfy and warm, and the perfect silence at night is something else.

Bunya House was like a stately family home. We all felt immediately comfortable. Very spacious, lots of interesting artifacts, comfortable living and bedrooms , quirky kitchen, beautiful bathroom. The position of the house showed off the lovely surrounds of Bowral. We can't wait to book again for another family gathering.

Gorgeous property in the heart of Bowral

My husband and I absolutely adored this home, which was warm and cosy, despite the usual cold temperatures in a Southern Highlands' winter. A gracious old home, with immense charm and character - we will certainly come back to enjoy the property in the summer time. We loved the comfortable beds, the warmth - and proximity to the Bowral village shops and restaurants. Adorable!

A great house! A real step back in time…Kitchen is tiny but well equipped! There is a bath but no hot tub as the ad suggests. The owners literally live beyond a door. So close, it’s as if they’re in the next room. For that reason, it doesn’t really feel like you’re renting the entire house. Beds are great-very comfortable. Host is very accommodating.

I do want to clarify that we live completely separately to Bunya House and are extremely mindful of guests privacy at all times. It is unfortunate that you arrived over half an hour early and walked in before the doors were locked 🙈. I am surprised at the mention of a hot tub as our lovely claw foot bath is the only bath I have mentioned. I am so sorry if you were let down. Thank you so much for being lovely guests. Camilla

The best lockdown ever

Only booked 3 days, lockdown came - we extended, not once, but twice. Had the best time with an open fire, food, wine and a beautiful property. Camilla was a great host.

Beautiful Bunya

A beautiful house and garden set high up on the hill. We especially enjoyed watching the sun go down across the valley from the wrap around verandah with a glass of wine. Camilla was an excellent host and we think she has the friendliest cat in Bowral!

The house is absolutely stunning, it has so much charm and character, and is super homely. Camilla was a great host, easy to deal with, quick to respond and very welcoming.

Beautiful home for photos

Disappointed with the state of the property when we arrived. Appreciate that it is an older period home which is what makes it so beautiful for photos but it was very dusty, bedroom shelves and toys that were left out for children to play with were filthy. We had to wipe down everything before our 18 month old could touch anything. Do not have anyone outside of those registered as guests even come and visit/set foot on the property without informing the owners or you’ll get a scathing visit from the owners as they live on the property. The couches were dirty and stained in the lounge room and covered with old bed sheets so not sure if they were even useable. Lots of the owner’s personal pictures on the walls and clothing in their drawers and wardrobes. Apparently the owners live in the home when it is not in use but this should’ve been clearly stated as there is no way you would expect to use the whole place comfortably, particularly if you wanted to unpack your things and use the wardrobe space. I stayed here on the eve of my wedding with my parents and had a very uncomfortable sleep due to the musty smell of the house and the dust. Again some beautiful pre-wedding pictures were taken but it was definitely not a pleasant stay. The

Dear Leslie, I am most sad to read your review as it so far from our normal 5 star rating. I am pleased that at least you did find it beautiful for your wedding photographs. I went out of my way to accommodate an early check in for you and adjust the heating to your liking. I provided a travel cot and high chair free of charge. I feel that you have exaggerated the dust in anger after I politely explained that a post wedding morning party for 30 people and an Easter egg hunt was not a good idea. To have that number of people (not ok’d by me) violates my insurance and that is why after two hours I did need to say enough. Personal pictures and effects are what gives Bunya House its unique charm and guests often comment on how they love it. Perhaps a hotel would have been a better option for you. Below is a review from the previous week: I cannot recommend this beautiful home enough. Every attention to detail has been meticulously thought of with the utmost love. I got ready here for my wedding on the weekend and it was truly the most special place for us to start the day. Camilla is so lovely and accomodating and we will be back in a heartbeat. This lovely guest gave me a big hug when they left. Reviews are a highlight of hosting. I take my role as a host very seriously and take great pride in beautiful reviews such as this one above. Beautiful Retreat

So relaxing, quiet yet within a few minutes to central Bowral. Such a stylish, sympathetic renovation of a lovely old house. The gardens a beautiful the owners have great taste the decor is georgeous. We loved the fire (to lazy to set the wood fireplace) so we used the gas instead. Pefect in every way

Tremendous Property and Host

Brilliant location in Bowral, easy stroll into town and Bradman Museum. The house has plenty of character and loads of space. Highly recommend.

Nothing but perfection

This property is one in a million. The historic quaintness hits you when you walk in, yet it is beautifully renovated to cater for all needs. The fireplace during winter is the crowd pleaser, and fire wood never runs out. Camilla as a host is so generous to ensure you have a great stay, and a great stay we sure did have. Highly recommend and we will all be back!
