Large vacation rental (approx. 80 m²) in a house on a hillside on the southern edge of St. Andreasberg. What makes it special is a rare 180-degree view from the approximately 8-meter-wide loggia (only mountains and trees are visible), as well as the complete tranquility. The view extends all the way to the observation tower on the “Großer Knollen” mountain, 7 kilometers away, which can be spotted on the horizon if you look closely (see also Google Earth). In the summer evenings, the only sounds you’ll hear are birdsong and the chimes of the clock tower on nearby Glockenberg. The town center is about a 10–15-minute walk away (from the Schwalbenherd, it’s best to walk straight ahead along Silberstraße to avoid a steep descent and a steep climb).
The apartment features a fairly large living room (sofa with adjustable headrests), a kitchenette, three bedrooms with wardrobes, a bathroom with a shower, a separate guest restroom (with a large sink), a large hallway, and a garage. Access to the loggia (8 x 1.4 m) is available from both the living room and the large bedroom. This bedroom features a double bed with a sleeping surface of 180 x 200 cm. The beds in the other two bedrooms have a sleeping surface of 90 x 200 cm.
The bedrooms in the apartment are carpeted with light-colored carpet. Guests are therefore asked to bring slippers and wear them inside the apartment.
The vacation apartment is located on the beautiful valley side of the building, which was built around 1975, on the first floor (attic level). The street-facing side of the building remains in its original condition and appears rather unattractive. However, once you enter the apartment, you’re in a whole different world.
Parking is permitted only in GARAGE No. 8 (width only 2.55 m!), which belongs to the apartment; not in the open area or the parking spaces in front of the building (which belong to other apartments). Public parking is available on the other side of the residential street.
Good restaurants (Italian and German), as well as a café and a bakery, are within a 10–15-minute walk. There is a supermarket in town. St. Andreasberg is not a good place for “shopping.” There’s no hustle and bustle in this quiet town.
The effects of the bark beetle infestation in the Harz Mountains (tree die-off) can also be seen from the apartment. However, new trees are already beginning to grow back.

RENT AND ADDITIONAL COSTS:
75 € per night (for one to two people) plus a 10 € surcharge for each additional person. Different rates apply during peak season (displayed by Vrbo before booking). Additional charges apply: final cleaning fee of 70 € and visitor’s tax. Bed linens and towels can be provided upon request for a total of 15 € per person per stay (order by phone from the apartment service; contact information will be provided upon booking) and, like the visitor’s tax, must be paid in cash upon arrival.

AMENITIES:
Wi-Fi, satellite TV, DVD/Blu-ray/CD player, refrigerator with a 3-star freezer compartment, Miele dishwasher and stove (4 ceramic burners, oven), microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, egg cooker, blender, washing machine, drying room (no clothes dryer), hair dryer, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner.
Plenty of travel guides about the Harz Mountains as well as other books, board games, and DVDs/Blu-rays (for children and adults) for evening entertainment.
