Upon arrival, you’ll receive towels and bed linens, as well as a hiking guide and a map of the area. We’re also happy to offer some tips on hiking routes and which restaurants in Jenesien and the surrounding area are worth visiting. The Langfenn, Lanzenschuster, and Tschaufenhaus inns are about a 2-hour hike away and offer excellent and varied South Tyrolean cuisine.

The hiking area stretches from Jenesien to Hafling and Meran. Just a few steps from the house lies the “Salten” high plateau with its expansive larch forests and alpine meadows. Hikes across the Salten offer panoramic views of the neighboring high mountain ridges. In the spring, the crocus blossoms, and in the summer, the rich mountain flora are a feast for the eyes. In November, the larch trees on the plateau turn red, and the hiking trails are carpeted with red larch needles. And in winter, the area is perfect for snow hikes. The following three ski resorts are each about 45 minutes away: Meran 2000, the Rittner Horn, and the Seiser Alm.

Our house was featured in numerous architecture magazines in Germany, Austria, and Italy in 2013 because it was built as an energy-self-sufficient home in a very scenic setting.

Our “neighbors” are horses. There are several riding stables on our street (Simmlweg). Upon request, we can arrange riding lessons and carriage rides.

By the way, everything in South Tyrol is bilingual: Italian and German. In Italian, the village is called San Genesio.

Smoking is not permitted in our house.
