Luxury Provençal Villa - 3 minutes stroll to picturesque medieval village!

'La Plantade' is a romantic and elegant Provençal villa filled with antiques and fine paintings. It is hidden down a private lane yet only a 3 minute walk to the picturesque medieval artists' village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup. The magnificent views range from the blue of the Côte d'Azur to hilltop 'perched' villages and surrounding mountains. The beautiful landscaped garden contains many varieties of old roses and palms. A large terrace around the house overlooks the pool area and the driveway with parking for 3-4 cars. Nice and its airport are 20 minutes away. First class restaurants abound and sports include tennis (2 minutes' walk), golf, cycling, hiking, riding and paragliding. Cannes, Monaco, Menton, Antibes and Italy are all within easy driving distance. For art lovers there are numerous museums nearby: the Foundation Maeght in St-Paul-de-Vence, the Picasso Museum in Antibes, the Chagall, Renoir and Matisse museums outside of Nice. Golf Courses: On an average of 30-40 minutes’ drive from 'La Plantade' there are 11 outstanding golf courses. Most of these include driving ranges and lessons. They are located in areas also renown for good restaurants, such as in Mougins, where there are 2: Golf de Valescure and Golf de Cannes Mougins. In Valbonne there is Golf d'Opio Valbonne and the Victoria Golf Club, whilst in Grasse there is the Golf de Grasse Country Club and Golf de Saint Donat. Closer to the coast in the famous glass-making village of Biot where there is the Golf de Biot. If you want to be very near the coast then just beyond Cannes in Mandelieu-La-Napoule there are another two: Riviera Golf Club and Golf de Cannes Mandelieu. Further afield there is the Monte Carlo Golf Club and another in Tende, Golf de Vievola. Some of these also have pools, tennis courts and riding facilities.

Skiing: There are a number of ski areas within easy driving distance of 'La Plantade.' The nearest ski area is Gréolières-les-Neiges at 30 minutes’ drive. Its altitude is 1400-1800 m covering more than 1000 ha. There are 10 lifts serving 3 blue, 3 green, 15 red and 2 black runs over 30 kilometres. A drive of slightly over an hour takes you to the ski area of Beuil-Valberg at an altitude of 1430-2100 m. There are 52 ski runs served by 22 lifts: 6 black, 22 red, 13 blue and 11 green and 24 kilometres of cross-country trails as well as 12 kilometres for snow-shoeing. There is also go-karting on ice for the kids! Driving 1.5 hours towards Italy takes you to the ski areas within the Mercantour National Park. These are Auron Tel: +33 (0) 4 93 23 02 66), Saint-Etienne de Tinée (Tel: +33 (0)4 93 02 41 96) and Saint-Dalmas le Selvage (Tel: +33 (0)4 93 02 46 40).

A perfect stay. Everything you could have wanted in the villa itself and the pool and gardens were wonderful. We had so much fun in the pool and dining on the terrace. The host was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the best places to go in the area. A real gem!

We cannot fault this villa. Spacious, clean, wonderful views - and pool - it really was, and had, everything we needed for a perfect holiday. We were a party of eight and the villa easily coped offering as it does plenty outside eating and living space. The close proximity to the town of Tourettes and its shops and cafes is really just the cherry on top of an amazing cake.Our sincere thanks to Andrea for the loan of her wonderful house.

We had a fantastic week in this wonderful house. We were six adults and found it to be the perfect base for exploring the area and enjoying our holiday.We played tennis almost every day and made the most of the beautiful surroundings. During our stay, we visited Grasse for a perfume tour, explored Saint-Paul-de-Vence, visited the beautiful Matisse Chapel in Vence, visited the Picasso Museum in Antibes, hiked through the Gorges du Loup, and enjoyed a wine tasting at a local vineyard. Of course, we also spent plenty of time in our own charming town of Tourrettes-sur-Loup, visiting the market, the little Violet Museum and soaking up the local atmosphere.We enjoyed cooking and dining at the house, but also discovered several excellent restaurants nearby. A special mention goes to Spelt, which served truly outstanding food and was worth every euro.We would also like to thank Andrea, who was an exceptionally helpful and responsive host. She provided great recommendations and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout our stay.Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing, memorable, and authentic experience in the South of France.

The positive first: Big House. Fine pool. Perfect location for Tourettes.But in our point of view the house is too old in style and equipment. We did not feel the “luxury”. The interior is minimum 40 years old. The bath, rooms and kitchen are not up to date and especially the kitchen needs an upgrade. We paid for cleaning but got an extremely long list a day before departure with things the host wanted us to do. Overall Tourettes sur Loup is a great village, but the house is to “old” and to expensive.

I'm sorry you felt this way but I am extremely surprised since you had seen exactly what the house looked like and contained in the photographs. Furthermore, there were architect's drawings which also should have informed you sufficiently and in more detail. I can only conclude that you did not pay attention to these things when booking. 'La Plantade' is a home with a unique history and full of antiques. In that context it qualifies for 'luxury.' Your idea of 'luxury is undoubtedly impersonal, sterile and visually uniform. As regards what was asked at departure, it entailed stripping the beds and leaving sheets and towels on the dining room floor ready to be washed. Anything else mentioned was simply a request and what anyone normally would do when leaving a house.

The property was beautiful very french, loved the character, the swimming pool was perfect for our family, everywhere was very clean and plenty of glasses and beautiful crockery typical of the area. Andrea was very welcoming and told us everything in detail which was very helpful. The house is only a very short walk into the village which is stunning, lots of restaurants to choose from and a great boulangeries for those croissants and fresh bread! You can get everything you need from the village or if you want a bigger shops there is a superstore about 10 minutes by car. We ventured out a couple of days to Nice and Grasse which were very accessible. We would absolutely recommend this house to anyone that wants to visit the area, the week went far too quickly loved every minute, celebrating my 60th birthday with family and friends. Thanks again Andrea for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

Friends vacation

Villa was good, pool area really nice. Villa is close to town, but the town is really sleepy, restaurants aren't open most of the nights for dinner.

Hi Terhi! Thank you for your review. I'm so sorry you were disappointed regarding the opening hours of 16 restaurants 2 cafés/bars 2 bakeries 1 wine bar (in total 20 eating establishments) which I clearly set out in your Welcome message and you could also have found online. There is also a nearby restaurant with music which you commented on. Perhaps you are not aware that the 3 'fine dining' restaurants in Tourrettes (Michelin Stars, Google Reviews, Trip Advisor, etc.) have to limit their opening hours/days because they are very sought after and always fully booked. For your stay of a week you could have had 14 meals out, that is, lunch and dinner, and there would have been a further 6 days when you could have had another 2 dinners/lunches. In addition, you could have had breakfast at any of 4 cafés or bakeries every single day. Essentially, you would been able to eat out every meal every day. I hope that clarifies things. Wonderful stay

What a wonderful house in our favourite village in the South of France. Really well equipped kitchen and fantastic pool. Comfortable beds and beautiful views from the terrace. Andrea kept in touch and was so flexible about the changing lockdown / quarantine regulations and final payment. Really wonderful holiday

Hillside retreat

Absolutely beautiful area to explore. The house is typical of the area with lovely external lights that come on when dark that make it magical House well equipped and homely Well Maintained garden and plenty of seating areas outside to enjoy. Owner very helpful and knowledgeable about local area and events

Great location and villa was excellent

Stayed here as part of our trip for the Rugby World Cup. 9 people altogether over the 5 bedrooms which worked perfectly. Social areas inside and outside were excellent and the pool a great size to have a bit of fun with. Tourrettes-sur-loup is a great village too with local walks, great restaurants and access from there into the moutains as well as days to the beach. Perfect for us!

Wonderful stay

La Plantade is a lovely spacious house with stunning gardens and outdoor space. From the sofas on the terrace the view is magnificent - one can even see the sea. It is only a short walk into the village where there is a very good bakery, numerous restaurants and a great market on a Wednesday morning. Andrea is a wonderful host - she could not have been more generous and attentive. A marvellous place to stay and relax.

Characterful property in a great location

We stayed at Andrea’s house for 2 blissful weeks in August. The house was fabulously located - only 5 mins walk into a village with good bakeries and 5 or 6 excellent restaurants. Andrea’s home is full of character and furnished to a very high quality - it feels very much like a home rather than a holiday let. The garden is beautifully maintained by Andrea and a team of gardeners who visit weekly. Andrea was a delightful host; she met us when we arrived and was very communicative both before and throughout our stay.

Les Plantades at Tourette

Lovely hot week mostly in the pool with the little children. Tourette is a lovely old village with all the basics plus an art community in the medieaval town. A 10 minute walk in every morning for shopping and a cafe or go in the evening for a wide choice of excellent restaurants. All good, very good.

Luxury private villa

What a fantastic property in a wonderful location. The outside space was superb, wonderful terraces overlooking the old town, wrap around garden with always a spot of shade and an amazing pool. With 5 bedrooms it was a most spacious property. Tourrettes-sur-Loup was a short walk away with an array of eateries , a beautiful town and we made the most of the Wednesday market. We spent 11 days at this villa and had a lovely time. The villa itself has lots of character. The outside is beautiful with stunning views over Tourette’s sur loup. There are lots of seating areas, plenty of chairs and parasols to shade you from the sun. Andrea the owner is very helpful and sorted a couple of issues we had promptly. She lives in the village and is always on hand to help.The villa is 5 minutes walk from the village and there a variety of restaurants to choose from. There are a couple of small grocery stores but we found them expensive and went to vence instead to stock up. We didn’t gave a car but there are plenty of Ubers around. Would definitely recommend this villa and the area which is really lovely.

Absolutely perfect.

We had the most wonderful week that is now etched in our memories as one of best ever holiday we've ever experienced. We stayed with another couple to celebrate a 50th birthday and with 2 of our adult children and all 6 of us continue to rave about that one week. The house is full of charm, the outdoor area perfect for entertaining, and the pool perfect for fun and relexation. Tourettes sur Loup is a beautiful village in itself and Nice is not so far away. On top of that Gourdon and Grasse are within easy driving distance. We will definitely be back.

Stunning villa in Tourettes-Sur-Loup

The villa very much exceeded our expectations and we absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back. Every detail is thought of and the house is so comfortable that it's easy to spend time there. The patio has magnificent views of the valley and mountains and is perfect for a sunset bbq. The village is a mere 5 minute walk away and has many lovely restaurants and bars (definitely go to The Cave). We often traveled into Nice which is an easy 25 minute drive. The Monday antique market is a must visit. Andrea is a fabulous host and shared all her knowledge about the area and it's surrounds, which was very helpful. Thanks for an amazing stay!

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful villa in Tourrettes-sur-Loup. The house is full of character, comfortable, and perfectly situated with peaceful surroundings and stunning views. It was an ideal home base for exploring the Côte d’Azur and relaxing with our family.Andrea was very helpful, thoughtful, and generous—she even prepared a delicious salade Niçoise for us one afternoon, which we happily enjoyed on the terrace. She clearly takes great pride in the home and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. At times, the communication was a little more detailed than we’re used to, but it always came from a place of care and attentiveness.We truly loved both the villa and the location, and we hope to return someday. It’s a special place we’d happily recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing stay in the South of France.

Beautiful small town Villa

We truly enjoyed out time in Tourrettes sur Loup at La Plantade. This home is old, but updated in all the right places, has beautiful artwork inside and fabulous park-like grounds outside. The views are of the mountains, the ocean and the gorgeous hilltown. We walked to town every day and loved it. We cooked in on market day with food from the market. It is a convenient to all the great sites of the Cotes d'Azur (Monaco, Nice, Eze, Cannes, Antibes, Grasse, Gourdon, Vence, St. Paul de Vence, etc.) Andrea was the perfect host. We rent often and highly recommend this home.

Great location close to village with beautiful gardens, seaviews

Enjoyed our holiday in Tourettes sur loup, our favourite French unspoiled village.Lovely location and gardens. Many lovely antiques and paintings in a rustic feel. spacious interior for 10, except very small kitchen. Extremely attentive host. We topped up pool often due to leak. Drain cover outside studios in need of resealing. Unexpected addition of owners resident cat who we fed and medicated.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Apologies about the pool although having a filet of water running into the pool could not have been very onerous, I should think. The pool was completely renovated this year so the leak was presumably related to that somehow. Unfortunately it was only discovered in July and the repair entails breaking up the travertine around the pool so this must be done 'out of season'. The drain cover you say is in need of resealing was never remarked upon by any other guests this year and the current ones have not flagged it either. With respect to caring for the cat, I offered to take him but you said you were happy to feed him and add his pill. The cat, Noah, and I thank you very much!

Wonderful house in a wonderful village

Fantastic experience from start to finish. The house is so comfortable, charming, with a great pool in walking distance to the beautiful medieval village. Property owner Andrea was incredible before and during the trip - so helpful in making sure our trip was as good as can be, including great recommendations for restuarants and things to do. Tourrettes is a really great village - plenty to see and do but very relaxed and charming without the tourist bustle of some other towns near there - we were smitten with it all and will be back! (I can also confirm that the driveway is VERY tight. It is doable and gets easier but zero room for error)

Excellent, well equipped holiday villa.

La Plantade was everything we expected it to be from the description and the photographs.The Villa has plenty of space,is well equipped and is full of interesting furniture and art works.The Villa was very well prepared for us and Andrea, the owner,explained all we needed to know in order to have a relaxing holiday.She also supplied lots of very useful information about the area and activities.The pool is large and well maintained as are the gardens with plenty of space but quite private.The village is a short walk away and is a delightful medieval village with friendly people.It is well supplied with restaurants and we ate out several times at various places. We hope to go back to La Plantade and would certainly recommend this property.

The location of the house is perfect with respect to its distance to the lovely perched village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup. It is easily 'walkable' within 3 to 5 minutes - depending upon your legs, energy and hunger for that 'café au lait'! It has beautiful views extending to the blue Esterel mountains and sea by St Tropez to nearer mountains and bays plus beautiful Tourrettes. There is fantastic hiking, skiing, golf, food all within short distances.
