Unkept, not as described, pictures don’t match relaity

We arrived on a very hot evening, the property is pretty remote down an uncared for dirt track with no lighting along the lane or at the property. We arrived to find the house all shut up and sweltering inside. A man appeared out of the dark who spoke no English and didn’t really say a lot and pointed at the front door. The furniture was not like in the pictures and the place was basic with some wiring showing in the entrance way. It was described as having air conditioning there were only units in 3 rooms. I spent 20 minutes trying to get them to work, I only managed to get 1 working and there wasn’t even a control for one of the units. The man was actually the owner living underneath the property in an internally connected flat which wasn’t mentioned in the VRBO description. It was all disappointing and a bit creepy. My family didn’t feel comfortable so we booked a hotel. VRBO refused to help and the agent for the property said they wouldn’t give us our money back. Awful experience

We are always happy that our guests share with us the impressions of their stay. In your case, we must point out that you didn't spend your holidays in the holiday home you rented with us. The Holiday home is in the countryside at about 2km from the tourist resort of Cala Dor. This can be checked perfectly in the location map and the description of the surroundings in VRBO before booking. Furthermore the first lines of the advert speaks about the location of the villa in a quiet area, overlooking the countryside, approx. 2 km aways from Cala Dor. Obviously the house and shutters are closed before clients arrive. This is a normal procedure. The man who showed you the way to the entrance is the owner, who lives in a flat at the basement which is clearly advertised in the description of VRBO. We have sent you a screenshot. The house counts with air con in all bedrooms with a timetable. At the time of your arrival, you could put it on with the remote controls. If this was not possible, you could have asked this to the very helpful owner. We understand you didn’t choose the right house for your family, as your family needed a villa in a resort, not at the outskirts. Probably there was a mistake in choosing holiday home, but this should not damage the evaluation of a very nice holiday home.

Super nette Gastgeber. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Gruppenurlaub in wunderschöner Finca
