Welcome to the heart of East Frisia! Located on the outskirts of the village of Strackholt, our small vacation apartment (45 square meters) is on the first floor of an outbuilding, offering a particularly peaceful setting and the sweeping views of the East Frisian countryside typical of the region. You can enjoy the view of the fields right from your breakfast table. The apartment is modernly furnished (oven, stove, refrigerator) and features a cozy double bed (1.8 m x 2 m) and a spacious shower (1.2 m x 0.8 m).
Right outside your front door, you can access the East Frisian bike network via its junction system, which often runs along the many surrounding canals. Trips to the recreational lakes “Timmeler Meer” and “Ottermeer” in Wiesmoor are ideal for canoeing, pedal boating, and stand-up paddleboarding, making an active vacation possible. The town of Großefehn is known as a windmill region. Seven windmills are accessible by bike, one of which is still in operation.
Of course, East Frisia also has its own beer, which is brewed in the neighboring town of Bagband and can be enjoyed there in the charming beer garden.
The town of Strackholt is located in the heart of East Frisia, so all ferry terminals to the East Frisian islands can be reached by car in under an hour. But the picturesque old town of Leer and the fishing village of Greetsiel also invite you to take a stroll. For shopping, the cities of Groningen (NL) and Oldenburg are great options, both of which are a 45-minute drive away.
The apartment can also be booked for three people upon request.
