Peace and Tranquility

The cabin is a very nice place. Everything you need is there except food. Location is just far enough from town and affords a quiet place to stay. The camera above the detached garage is a little....... makes you feel like you are being watched. The code for the key lock box didn't work had to call and get another code for a different lock box. We brought our own grill, no place to eat outside, a table and chairs to eat outside and enjoy the beautiful weather would be a nice addition. All in all, it was very nice.

Very nice cabin

A well-stocked, well-kept cabin. I was thinking it would be more isolated than it was. You could see the cabin next door and the one across the street, though there were plenty of trees in between and each property was good-sized, so it wasn't like having next door neighbors. First floor has two bedrooms: one with a large bed and a second with four bunks; a full bath in between them. Master bedroom and bath upstairs and a loft with a bed just outside that bedroom. There was plenty of dry firewood, which was nice. I brought my own kindling and some newspaper, which helped, because most of the logs were on the large size and would otherwise be tough to start.

Week Away

Our stay at the Sherman Log House in Ludlow, VT was a delightful escape into the heart of Vermont's natural beauty. Nestled amidst towering pines, the cabin offered the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The spacious living room, with its cozy fireplace and comfortable seating, was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the area. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals, and the dining table provided a spot for enjoying them. One of the highlights was the cabin's proximity to outdoor adventures. Hiking trails, fishing spots, and the Okemo Mountain ski resort were all within easy reach. After a day exploring the area, it was pure bliss to return to the cabin and relax on the deck while enjoying the fresh mountain air. The cabin was well-maintained and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The peace and quiet added an extra level of enjoyment to our vacation. Overall, our experience at the Sherman Log House was exceptional. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway in the Vermont countryside.

Great House

The house itself is wonderful and isolated, which is great if you're looking for peace and quiet. The jetted tub was unfortunately out of order, and the house wasn't as clean as we expected (past guests trash, receipts, etc under beds and in living room) but otherwise it was a lovely home. The check in process was a debacle. Vacasa sent me the lockbox code the day prior, and when arriving we followed the directions verbatim, for about 20 minutes only to conclude it was the wrong code. This area has no cell service, at least for Verizon, so we had to drive about 15 minutes away to call Vacasa, two different times we had to make this trip due to faulty information, and finally discover we had been given the wrong code indeed. An hour and a half later we were in, and all was okay.

Family Reunion

This is cute, cozy house. We were nine adults and there was plenty of beds but the house is smaller than the pictures depict. It was clean but needed a good dusting on the walls and beams inside. We enjoyed the porch and the woods surrounding the house. It is a bumpy ride from Ludlow but we did enjoy our stay.

Incredible! Clean

We are pretty critical about places being clean, and we were highly impressed by the cleanliness and how well maintained it was. Additionally, it was 2 miles from town, which was far enough to be remote and have some private, relax time, but close enough to get to town for groceries, dinner and even a massage. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful property- road not paved

Loved this rental! We went for stargazing it was the perfect spot. Rooms and house were beautiful and clean. Road to get there is not paved which was a tad tough on our little car but not bad, the drive was beautiful albeit bumpy! 100% recommend .

Beautiful Cabin

Came here for a weekend getaway with my fiancé and fell in love the with place. The house was very clean and super cozy. The property is privately tucked back in the woods but still easy to find from the road. It’s conveniently located near the town as well as Okemo mountain! I would highly recommend this cabin!!

Great Ski Retreat

Great location, amenities, and close to Okemo and Killington. Warm and wonderful. Perfect for four people, but easily could do six. Outstanding value for the money. Will definitely go back. Only downside is the road (South Hill) much of which is not paved, but not a big deal just be prepared.

Great Stay and Skiing Location

Great location for ski mountains. Cabin was beautiful inside and out. Having the real fireplace was a nice touch. The entire place had that “home” feeling. Everything was super clean. Will definitely stay again in the future.

great place

the house was very nice, clean, well appointed. close to town and Okemo and snowmobile rental dish sponge was 1 sponge cut in half, light fixture upstairs hanging by a wire. cheap TP in the Bathrooms... none of those things are a big deal but they were obvious in an otherwise great place. you will need 4 WD if the weather is icy/snowing. very quiet surroundings it was just me and my two teenage kids so plenty of room for us... if in the area again i would seriously consider renting here again

Sherman House was a winter wonderland!

This was a great location for access to Okemo and the house was perfect for relaxing in front of the fire after a day on the slopes.

Everything was perfect in the lodge.. the village of Ludlow is friendly.. super restaurants, great hiking venues,, close to Dorset summer theatre.. the views are spectacular .. I would go back in a heartbeat...

Quiet and very nice

We loved it! It was such a quiet neighborhood. Kitchen was a little small for 9 people, but it didn’t detract from our stay.

Awesome cabin to stay in!

This was a wedding gift to us, as we were getting married in Wallingford. My kids came from Washington state flew in and stayed with us. There was plenty of room (there were 6 of us). The cabin had everything we needed, just bring food and drink and you're all set. It was nice and quiet and sitting on the porch was great! Highly recommend!

Quiet Retreat

We used the cabin as a base for our fall foliage tour. Easy access to color along Hwy 100 north from Ludlow as well as a day trip. Into New Hampshire. Cabin was great after a day of driving.

Sherman house

This was absolutely beautiful, well kept, well stocked with appliances and pots etc. Only thing was the jacuzzi tub wouldn't work. We fell in love, hoping to book a vacation there this summer. It was that awesome. We didn't want to leave. Mother nature decided to drop a snow storm on us, adding beauty to the home. Love love love this home!!! Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy this dream home!! Loved the family pics, was sorta like getting a very personal touch. Lovely family! 😍😁🦌🛷🏂⛷🎿⛸
