We began this adventure in an effort to live life more intentionally. For us this means growing our own food, reducing our consumption, and being mindful of the resources we use.

Dempsey is a retired English teacher. He enjoys hiking, biking, and gardening.

Aron is a lifetime athlete and former U.S. Army paratrooper and OIF/OEF veteran. She is a certified and licensed Recreation Therapist. She is also a yoga and meditation teacher who specializes in trauma informed and adaptive practices.

Our land includes a mix of open meadows and quiet wooded areas, offering something for every type of camper. Wake up to stunning mountain views, the sound of songbirds, and the rustle of wind through the trees. Explore our off-grid homestead with a guided tour, and learn how we live in harmony with the land.
Want to deepen your connection with nature? Private yoga and meditation sessions can be scheduled during your stay. Or simply sit back and enjoy the local ecosystem—our pollinator gardens and wild spaces attract birds, butterflies, bees, deer, coyotes, bear, and skunks.
If adventure calls, we’re in the heart of a region known for hiking, mountain and gravel biking, kayaking, tubing, and ATV/UTV trails. Spend your day exploring, then come back to a peaceful, low-impact camp experience. Let Meadow Haven Farm be your hub for adventure in this part of SWVA. If you want to unplug from the digital world and reconnect to nature, join us at Meadow Haven Farm. For outdoor enthusiasts, we offer camping options in close proximity to many of SWVA’s outdoor adventures. For cyclists, we are within a short drive of the Virginia Creeper Trail, Mendota Trail, and Salt Trail. For the hiker, we are within a short drive of The Channels, The Pinnacles, and The Cleveland Barrens. Whether you are a cyclist, mountain biker, hiker, or paddler, you will find something near us to enjoy.
We offer both tent camping on raised wooden platforms for a comfortable, dry night's sleep, and traditional ground tent sites tucked into the meadow. All campers have access to our shared composting toilet, on-demand hot water outdoor camp shower, and a cozy shared fire pit—perfect for stargazing or making s’mores under the open sky.
If you just want to unplug and relax, Meadow Haven Farm offers an opportunity to spend time surrounding yourself in the natural world. For those interested in mindfulness, we offer yoga and meditation. If you are interested in sustainable living, we can share our experiences of going off-grid and organic gardening.
Meadow Haven Farm is an environmental restoration project set in the rolling hills of Southwest Virginia. The farm is an effort to reconnect with nature and live more intentionally. The farm’s name is an indication of our mission. Meadow refers to our ongoing efforts at restoring former cow pasture into wildflower meadows.
