Rickenbach im Hotzenwald is located in the “Three-Country Corner” (Germany, Switzerland, and France), near Bad Säckingen in the beautiful southern Black Forest, surrounded by nature. This is where you’ll find this cozy and modernly equipped vacation home with a large garden.
The house has 185 square meters of living space. On the first floor, you’ll find the open-concept kitchen, the adjoining living and dining room, a bedroom with a single bed (90x200), and a bathroom with a shower. Upstairs, there is another bathroom with a shower and a bathtub, as well as three additional bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a single bed (90x200), one has a smaller double bed (140x200), and one has a double bed (200x200). This layout is ideal for large families, grandparents traveling with you, or two families who are friends. You’ll have plenty of space while still enjoying separate areas. In the basement, you’ll also find a laundry room and a fitness room.
In the summer, the terrace with its seating area and lounge chairs invites you to relax; in the winter, a fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house. Parking spaces are available for your car(s), and a garage is also available upon request and by arrangement. There is a charging station for electric cars. We require a security deposit of €200 in advance. You can charge your electric car for €0.383 per kWh. If you use less than that, we’ll refund the difference; if you use more electricity, we’ll issue an invoice. This applies only to charging the car—normal electricity usage is included. Wi-Fi internet access is available.
Children are welcome; the large garden is perfect for playing. A small stream runs right past the property, and children love to play there. There’s also a playground very close by.
The house is nestled in the typical hilly landscape with small villages and plenty of forests. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation, this is the perfect place for you. But there’s also a wide range of sports and recreational activities available. There are numerous excursion options in the surrounding area. The Black Forest, with its many hiking trails, is right on your doorstep. Visit the Solfelsen natural monument or the castle ruins in Wieladingen (which offer a great view of the Murg Valley). Nature lovers should hike to the Strahlbrusch Waterfall or the Bärenfels castle ruins. The small border towns of Laufenburg and Bad Säckingen (both well worth a visit) are not far away (15 minutes by car), but larger cities are also within easy reach: in an hour, you can be in Basel, Schaffhausen (waterfalls!), Zurich, or Mulhouse. It takes a bit longer (about 1½ hours) to get to Freiburg or Colmar. And of course, don’t forget the Black Forest’s highest mountain—the Feldberg. You can reach it in an hour. In summer, it’s an ideal destination for hikers and mountain bikers; in winter, winter sports enthusiasts will find excellent conditions (ski slopes, snowshoe trails, and toboggan runs). Also worth seeing: the Schluchsee, the Titisee, and the Triberg Waterfalls. Europapark, a theme park in Rust, is about a 1½-hour drive away and is therefore, like Lake Constance, perfect for a day trip.
