The thatched-roof Haus Ruge in Lietzow on Rügen was built with great attention to detail. With 160 m² of living space, it offers not only generous comfort but also immediate proximity to the Kleiner and Großer Jasmunder Bodden. The 300-year-old clinker bricks from the previous house were reused in the new construction—a piece of history that lives on here. The traditional lattice windows with storm hooks, which open outward, also reflect the architectural style of old Rügen houses. On the 500-square-meter property, guests enjoy peace and privacy surrounded by nature.
Lietzow is a picturesque, idyllic vacation destination, nestled between the sparkling Bodden, the open Baltic Sea, and the vast, lush green beech forests of the Granitz. The small village exudes a special sense of tranquility yet offers plenty of opportunities to discover the island of Rügen at its most beautiful. Families especially appreciate Lietzow’s fine-sand natural beach: the shallow water, always slightly warmed by the sun, invites children to splash about carefree, while adults relax on the shore. Those who prefer a more active experience can take their first steps on a board at the local sailing and surfing school or experience the quiet fascination of the Bodden while fishing.
Just a few minutes’ walk away lies the romantic Semper Forest Park, where the mysterious, primeval dwarf beeches amaze visitors. Along winding paths on the steep banks, breathtaking views of the water open up time and again—a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. Cyclists benefit from well-maintained trails that wind through stunning landscapes. A worthwhile destination is Ralswiek, where the famous Störtebeker Festival, featuring fireworks and theatrical performances, captivates thousands of visitors every year. The port city of Sassnitz, with its lively pier, maritime charm, submarine museum, and imposing chalk cliffs, is also within easy reach—an ideal starting point for experiencing all that Rügen has to offer.
