A 5 bedroom mountain retreat, ideal for couples, and families.

House is beautiful five bedroom home, situated in five wooded acres in Clifftops, a gated community in Monteagle, Tennessee, five minutes from Sewanee and University of the South, Monteagle Sunday School Assembly, Dubose Conference Center; offers hiking, biking, swimming in community lake and pool, (pool during summer months), canoeing and sports galore.. pet friendly -- dogs only.l
Home can sleep ten (12 with sofa bed with additional charge), has four full, and one half bathrooms, comfortable kitchen, lounge, formal dining room, family room, large grounds and walking trails on property.
Configuration of bedding: 3 king bedded rooms, 1 queen bedded room and one room with 2 twin beds.

Note: no rentals to persons under 21 permitted without parents or adult family members and primary renter must be over age of 25.
We have a two night minimum to allow guests to relax and enjoy our home. maximum number of guests 10

The house was perfect for our 3-generational family, and being able to bring our dog was the cherry on top. Sue is terrific, and the place was perfect for a relaxing weekend of family time.

Moongalbah is an excellent Monteagle location tucked away in Clifftops yet close to attractions in Monteagle and Sewanee. Spacious home and perfect retreat for board meeting weekend. Sue had everything anyone could need plus extras thoughtfully provided. Sue is a wonderful host. Thanks!

Sue’s home was welcoming, comfortable, and large enough to accommodate our families. The setting was peaceful and we saw deer every day of our stay. The location was perfect for our trip to the Caverns and hiking in Fiery Gizzard state park. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Perfect home for a gathering of my boarding school friends as we attended alumni weekend. Sue was an amazing host and communicator. I highly recommend this rental to anyone spending some time on the mountain. Oh! And what a lovely area where we saw so many deer and were able to truly unwind and enjoy each other.

We had a marvelous time at this lovely home in Clifftops. The home was very well equipped with everything we needed and was located in the same neighborhood as our relatives’s home - making it very convenient for family gatherings. We would definitely stay there again!

Susan was very quick & easy to converse with. Her home was perfect for our family get together. Everyone especially enjoyed the puzzles & snacks. She had everything we needed while staying. Beautiful surroundings.

Sue has everything you need to host a Thanksgiving meal. She was always handy for any questions we had. There was so much space to spread out or cozy up together in front of the fire. We had a great visit and hope to go back!

Cozy house Great Location

We had a great weekend at Sewanee Family weekend. This house had plenty of room for our family and friends to gather and catch up over the weekend. I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful home in secluded gated community

This lovely house in Clifftops was exactly as advertised. We were in town to help our daughter move into her dorm at Sewanee. The host Sue was very responsive, but not intrusive. Would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

Mom’s 80th Birthday Getaway

This property was perfect for our family to gather and celebrate Mom. Sue’s personal touches made it feel like we were staying in the home of a close family friend. We will always treasure our time together at Monteagle!

Weekend at the Caverns

We were in the area to see music at the Caverns nearby and this home was the perfect spot to be. It was nice and secluded and extremely welcoming. We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

Beautiful home and property

The house is beautiful, inviting and nestled in the woods. Our family met at the house from several different cities to enjoy a weekend together. This place is a GEM.

Wonderful home away from home

We had a great stay at Sue’s home. She was extremely attentive and helpful. The house was very comfortable and we had everything we could possibly need. We will definitely be back!

I am a transplanted Australian, by way of California, and chose the Tennessee mountains as a perfect place to semi-retire and enjoy the beauty of middle Tennessee.
The house reflects a combination of my Australian heritage and a little of the south and the name 'Moongalbah' is an Australian Aboriginal word meaning 'a sitting and resting place' and I invite you and your guests to use the front porch rockers and do just that... enjoy, relax and breathe the fresh mountain air.
