The Avalon Rome is a completely renovated apartment in the center of Rome. With two beautifully decorated bedrooms, a large and comfortable living/dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, the Avalon is perfect for 2-6 guests.
The apartment’s location could not be more central for visiting the city of Rome. In one direction, a 5/10 minute walk will take you to the breathtaking Roman Forum and the Colosseum, as well as the Colle Oppio park (the hill where the Emperor Nero built his golden palace over 2000 years ago.) A 10 minute walk in the other direction will take you to the central train station, where trains leave by the hour for Florence, Venice, Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Two metro stops are also within a 10 minute walk of the Avalon: Line A will take you in a few minutes to the Spanish Steps with its incomparable shops, as well as to St. Peter’s Square and the Sistine Chapel. Only two stops on Line B will bring you to the majestic Circus Maximus, where in past millennia ancient Romans staged chariot races. Line B of the metro will also take you to the regular trains to Ostia, where in only thirty minutes you will arrive at the seaside to visit the ruins of Ostia Antica or have a leisurely seafood lunch on the beach.
Among the Avalon’s services are an English-speaking driver who can do not only simple airport transfers but can also take you on private day tours to places like Pompeii and Positano on the Amalfi Coast.

We had a wonderful stay! Every amenity felt thoughtfully chosen and provided—so many little details made the stay especially comfortable. The location was perfect: quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle, yet still close enough to easily walk to everything we wanted to enjoy. The property was exceptionally clean, and check-in was easy and very thorough, including helpful instructions and even a quick lesson on how to use the keys. It was clear that the hosts had thought of everything. We would happily stay here again!

This unit was obviously just renovated and was beautifully clean and modern with clever architectural touches. The hosts were very helpful before and during our stay with recommendations and logistics. It was the perfect place to cook a quick meal before tumbling into bed. The location made it an easy walk to see the highlights.

Host was fantastic. Rooms were clean, lots of space. Metro line on the block. Walking distance to just about everything. Even with a public transit strike, we were able to get to the Vatican within an hour.

The room was exactly as shown Salvatore was very helpful Getting us a ride from the airport and return to the airport Was helpful in directions and how to use Meto etc. This is a great location from Santa Maria to the Colosseum and easy walk to Metro Very quiet area in reserving the place I failed to notice there is NO tv in the description This turned out to be ok Con was there is never and direct sunlight into the room Lots of light through the windows in each room and no coffee maker Thank you Sal for getting back to us each time we text you It is a nice place to stay great restaurant at the end of the street

First off we came here in August, not the best month it is hot and humid. My priority was air conditioning! The living room/kitchen had its own ac as well as each room and they got COLD. So if that is a need this apartment works. It’s not the Ritz-Carlton but you are a 15 min walk to the colosseum and everything else is a bit farther, we took scooters. Salvatore and his Daughter ,Rafaela were amazing hosts who answered every question when I asked which was about 3 times in a week of stay. The area looks sketchy but we had noProblems and the restaurant down the alley is decent food. If you head toward the restaurant and turn left there is a small store at the end. Water pressure is awesome. No complaints. Good deal! Thanks Salvatore and Rafaela! Ciao

This was an excellent apartment in Rome - perfect for our four day Roman Holiday. Close to subway stations on both the A line and the B line, it was perfectly located for easy access to all of the major sites in the city. The property itself was well appointed, clean, and prefect to return to after a day in the hot Italian summer. Air conditioning worked great (one unit in each of the bedrooms and in the living area) to keep us cool and refreshed. There is a supermarket close by (5-10 minute walk, right across from the Santa Maria Maggiore church (where Pope Francis is interred)), a fantastic restaurant just down the block (2 minute walk, La Forchetta d’Oro - cash only!) - it was perfect. The owner, Salvatore, communicated well and was fantastic at helping us arrange a driver from the cruise port in Civitavecchia to the property as well as an early morning ride to the airport (FCO) the day of our departure. It couldn’t have been easier or nicer.

Sal was great. He communicated very well and answered questions timely. He also made arrangements for transportation, which eased the stress of getting my daughter to the airport. The place itself was perfect for our needs. We were able to cook breakfast every morning, along with some lunches and dinners. There was even an oven, which is a rare find. We were even able to do laundry during our stay. We would definitely stay again.

We bought the property at the beginning of 2014 and remodeled it thinking of what we appreciate when we travel: beauty, cleanliness, central location. On foot you can reach all of the important sites of Rome, from the Roman Forum to the churches of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Colosseum. We loved the idea of sharing with others the beauty of the landmarks of Rome and also the neighborhood spots that many tourists miss.

We fell in love with this apartment because it is perfectly located in the middle of a busy city, while at the same time peaceful. Because it is on an internal courtyard, it is a kind of quiet oasis. The decor of The Avalon brings together Italian beauty and American comfort.
