Experience a piece of history with modern comforts at Vetehuset-Skorda, a unique studio retreat on the second floor of the historic Berquist & Nelson Drugstore building. Swedish for 'the Wheat House: Harvest,' this private apartment honors its location on the National Register of Historic Places with a distinctive 'grain elevator' architectural style. Inside, you'll find a quiet and comfortable oasis, thanks to insulation made from recycled blue jeans. The entire space is kept comfortable year-round with central air conditioning and heating.

LIVING & WORK: Relax in the cozy living room with a sofa and chairs, or enjoy morning coffee in the lovely vestibule. The space includes a dedicated workspace and high-speed Gigabyte internet, perfect for remote work. Unwind with the Smart TV, which includes Hulu+Live TV (no ads).

SLEEPING: Rest peacefully in the comfortable king-size bed, featuring a premium Casper mattress. The sleeping area is thoughtfully set apart from the living space for added privacy.

KITCHEN & DINING: A fully-equipped kitchen awaits with full-size, Energy Star certified stainless steel appliances, including a quiet dishwasher. Ample counter space and a dining table for four make meals a breeze.

Wonderful, unique experience and right on beautiful Main Street. Vetehuset Skorda is a clean and comfortable large studio loft with nice wooden floors and soft lighting, Secure and easy in/out process and carport parking.

This is a great place right in the middle of Lindsborg. We used it as home base and traveled to nearby towns. This was a good decision. Lots of charm. I enjoyed the walking/running path.

Great place to stay

Had everything you need including washer and dryer. Industrial look was totally cool and the elevator was a lift... Reminded me of the elevator at my first job that had a person operating it. Great place to stay

Staying right on Main Street in Lindsborg was like stepping into a storybook—Swedish charm, small-town warmth, and modern comfort all wrapped into one beautiful experience. We stayed at Vetehuset, and it was absolutely stunning. The apartment was not only uniquely decorated, but also incredibly comfortable—and just steps away from everything we wanted to do. The walkability was one of the best parts. Lindsborg is the kind of place that instantly feels like home, and staying on Main Street made the whole experience even more magical.

Great Swedish vibe

We loved everything about this: Location, decor, ambiance, nice kitchen (altho we didn't use it), etc. We were visiting Lindsborg because of its reputation as a town with a true Swedish heritage, so this place fit right in with that. Nothing kitschy about it, just very tasteful in an under-stated way. Highly recommend it!

Lovely place to stay for couples!

Veterhuset-Skorda was the perfect place to stay in Lindsborg. It's private, comfortable and so convenient to everything in downtown. We loved everything about the loft from the cool elevator, to the cute landing with a little table & chairs by the window, to the cool lights over the bed, to the amazing bathroom, the well-stocked kitchen and the comfortable living room. There was ample space in the two closets. We loved everything! We highly recommend this loft.

Short Get Away to Recharge

This loft was perfect for our short get away. We needed quiet and time to recharge. We were so happy with the layout. My wife could sleep and I could watch an old movie. The requested clean up on check oput was minimal. Kitchen was great with plenty of appliances. Car port was very nice too.

I loved my stay at Vetehuset, Platera--everything from the covered parking in the back, to the authentic feel of the mill interior (the elevator, the vestibule, the lovely hallway and the staircase down to the street), and especially the beauty, style, and calm of the apartment. The art is evocative and well suited to the space, and the overall thoughtful design and comfort of the mini-splits, the well-appointed kitchen, bathroom, vanity, closet space, and wonderful bed all added to the charm of this place. I also appreciated how this apartment faces Main Street, which made being in Lindsborg particularly lively and memorable. I spent considerable time exploring the town sights, but also enjoyed walked the Meadowlark Trail and observing the extraordinary Mississippi Kites, whose dazzling flights patterns across the sky were another kind of art. Thank you!!! I'll be back.

Hello, my name is Jim. As you may have guessed, I am a big fan of Lindsborg, KS for its friendly townsfolk and business owners. Perhaps also because, according to DNA test results, I’m 80% Swedish!
I was the first vacation rental owner in the area and my properties began as a kind of experiment to see if they would catch on. Fortunately, they did and my properties are now warmly embraced by the local community.
While I don’t live in Lindsborg, I have been welcomed into the community as a “local” who just happens to live elsewhere.
When I’m not tending to my vacation rentals, you will find me working in my commercial real estate business, where I own and rent commercial spaces for small businesses and apartments for local residents.
In my leisure time, I particularly enjoy genealogy (not a big surprise there!), traveling, and hiking.
