House with pool, garden and sea view RENEWED IN 2015

Lynn and Phil are a charming couple that I would like to keep as friends. Unhappily Australia is very far away... It was a pleasure to receive and getting to know them.. I strongly recommend them to any other host

Hi Debby Yes the house is some times empty for a while and as it is by the sea ,it can be damp and have a smell when you arrive but after a while the smell disappears,and there is electrical heating in every room The noise of construction in the area ,is something I cannot control. Of course ,there was hot water , you should have contacted me, I would have told you to change the gaz bottle, ,there is always a spare one in the small house near the swimmingpool. There is no deck near the swimmingpool just artificial grass... I didn't know the teapot was not working if you contacted me I would have sent you a new one. There are 3 different coffee machines a Nespresso ,one that uses coffee in grain and an ancient electrical one ,if one was leaking you could have used another one. I think your comment is not fair ,the guests who were there before you did classified the house 5 stars.

I am very sorry Jayne and her group were not happy with their stay in my house . June 2017 she made a reservation from the 24th to the 28th May 2018. October 2017 she asked for an extra night the 23rd .I agreed but did not registered it on my timetable. May 13th Jayne mailed saying they would arrive on the23rd .At first I thought she was mistaken but consulting the mails we had changed I got aware that she was right As the house was occupied on the 23 rd .I immediately tried to get her an accomodation for that night in the area.Within one hour I had solved her problem ,. but she choosed to rent an appartment in Cascais . As to had risked arriving and had no place to stay that would never be possible .I always mail my guests one week before their arrival to send them the House Guide ,the Places to Visit and the House Rules and to know the estimated time of arrival,so that someone will be there to receive them. She asked for a late check out and I accepted with no extra costs. As to the broken lock,I did not know it was broken.Other guests had left the same morning and did not mention it and the housekeeper ,when she did the cleaning the same day, did not notice it. If Jayne had informed me ,someone would have gone there to fix it.I have an handyman who solves all the problems that can happen,almost immediately. Unlike the usual this time of the year, the weather in all the iberian peninsula has been terrible ,cloudy and rainy and humid,that might had been responsible for the smell Jayne said she felt .I have been there today and I felt nothing. I am deeply sorry for my mistake as I already told her .It never happened before and I am sure will not happen again.
