Wonderful Stay

This house is a hidden gem. The outdoor dining room is very special with a unique view on Lourmarin's Castle. We absolutely loved it. Both the owner and the property manager are very kind and extremely responsive. It was a dream vacation. Thank you again to Francoise and Marie-Odile.

Lovely Lourmarin

We absolutely loved our 2 weeks here and hope to return. The amazing views, the gardens and all of the beautiful plants (lavender, olive trees, geraniums, begonias, hydrangea… just gorgeous and peaceful), the pool…quiet walks to town through the vineyards and the wonderful town of Lourmarin. The house was very charming and comfortable. We enjoyed every meal outside in one of many cozy seating areas around the house, and rosé in the evenings on a bench overlooking the valley. If we had any questions Françoise or her son were quick to reply and very helpful. We enjoyed yoga in the back garden overlooking the town, family game nights outside on the large table under the covered patio… and when we needed to connect, good WiFi. It was our home away from home and we left relaxed and refreshed.

Lourmarin

Zeer goede lokatie. Goed onthaal. Mooie oude provencaalse mas. Minpunten: is aan renovatie toe vnl de badkamers en ligstoelen terras en zwembad. Internet/wifi is zwak met slecht bereik in buitenkeuken en geen bereik zwembad.

Merveilleux

Excellent contact avec la propriétaire Madame Bonnet. Excellent accueil par Marie Odile. Emplacement parfait, le petit chemin piétonnier nous mène au village en 10 minutes. Maison de caractère : décoration superbe, un goût parfait. Maison dans laquelle on se sent bien tout de suite. Jardin, piscine : environnement de rêve. Une maison où l'on reviendra.

Unfortunately already back home

We are back from our very relaxing holidays in our wonderful gem in Lourmarin. What shall we say, we absolutely loved it! Planned was, to eat very often out in all the fancy restaurants in the region but the open kitchen outside and the great equipped kitchen has led to many evenings drinking a good bottle of wine and having a BBQ outside. The kitchen left nothing to be desired. Every needed cutler could be found, even a Sodastream was there, we felt like at home. It feels in the house and around the house that it is very well loved and cared for. All the plants around the house have been growing for decades and many cosy places invite to seat and read or drinking a glass of wine. Every place has it's special time to be there. Our kids stayed whole day in the large pool which was gated and very large but not to deep. The house by itself was like a small labyrinth and had very tasteful interior. In every room is an air-condition, and it was such a relief to have a nice and good sleep at night. As a recommendation, the beds in the top storey where great, it was like sleeping on a cloud. We slept so good. Justine and Jean Pierre were very helpful and cared about any question which we had and made our stay perfect. We had a hard time to leave this lovely place and hope that we return again.

Heavenly Week in Provence

My family and I had the most wonderful week in Provence at Font Roc! The online pictures are so beautiful that I didn't know how it could live up to them in reality --- well, it did! An orchard of olive trees, a terrace overlooking the Lourmarin Renaissance chateau with a ping pong table and outdoor kitchen and dining area, the perfect swimming pool surrounded by beautiful plants and trees, with plenty of sun OR shade (depending on what you like). The gardens were so beautiful, and the interior of the house was excellently decorated with stunning collections of copper jugs and attractive artwork. The kitchen was lovely. We were there during the extreme French heat wave (111 degrees Farenheit, 44 Celcius) but we stayed cool in the air conditioned bedrooms, and most importantly, the pool! If you can enjoy yourself in temperatures that hot, you know you are in the perfect place. Lourmarin is an ideal base for day trips around the Luberon - we travelled to Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for market day, to Arles, and to Aix-en-Provence. You can spend a good day in each place and be home to the pool by 4:30 to enjoy the sunshine and a glass (or two...) of local rosé. Lourmarin itself is a truly beautiful town with plenty of delicious restaurants. (I have to recommend Le Bouchon for its amazing food and generous, friendly, kind service!). Friday market day is so much fun! The owner of Font Roc, Francoise Bonnet (and her son Pierre-Jean) were easy to communicate with and responsive to text messages throughout our trip. They have a beautiful home that will make you feel like you really have your own special farmhouse in Provence. I would go back - and live there - in a heartbeat!

Beautiful house in a wonderful location

We had a truly excellent stay at the Font-Roc. The villa is a very charming and authentic provencal mas. Its design is quirky in places and it has clearly been a well-loved family home which makes it feel all the more welcoming. The separate gated pool area was fantastic and we spent a lot of fun time round the pool. There is lots of natural stone and the water is a very beautiful jade colour. The gardens and view of the Chateau de Lourmarin are glorious and the outside covered dining area is a great amenity (and there are lots of other areas around the house to have an aperitif or lunch). There is a pleasant pathway to the village through some vineyards to the chateau (great if you want to avoid the influx of cars when the town's amazing market is in full swing). The kitchen is very well equipped with ice-making fridge, proper Nespresso machine and all the utensils you could need. The housekeeper who greeted us was very helpful, the bathrooms and kitchen were impeccably clean and there were plenty of towels and spare bedlinen etc. if required. It’s on a main road which we thought might be an issue but the plot is set far back and is extremely well screened so you wouldn't really know it when you are in the gardens or by the pool – rather, it means that the property is easier to find and makes it simpler to get in to the village and elsewhere. We hope to return and thoroughly recommend it.

Beautiful house with amazing garden

We spent 2 weeks in this beautiful spot and enjoyed the huge and idyllic garden every day. There are several lovely terraces for each time of the day, the pool area is spacious and great for relaxing, playing or swimming. House and garden were very well maintained. You can reach the village with some good restaurants and shops within 15 minutes in a small walk through hidden paths and besides the vineyards, and there are nice markets in and around Lourmarin. We would definitely recommend the house for families or a small group of people. Thank you Francoise for this wonderful authentic experience!

Fantasique Maison

Nous avons passé un séjour Fantastique au mas de Font-Roc. Tout, là bas, est fait pour profiter de la provence: l'interieur est décoré avec goût, personalité. Le jardin est luxuriant et trés agreable: on trouve toujours un coin au soleil ou à l'ombre seon que l'on veuille rester ua frais ou lezarder. La vue sur le village de Lourmarin est imprenable. Le village est ses alentours sont trés agréables. Un merveilleux sejour!! Nous reviendrons en été!!!
