A True Northwood's Cabin Experience!

Our cabin is nestled on the east side of Big Lake Chetac offering beautiful views of the lake and fantastic sunsets. Big Lake Chetac is known for its fishing and water recreation. Enjoy coffee in the morning in the screen porch and a bonfire at night in the firepit next to the lake. The cabin has two bedrooms, bathroom with shower, living room with pull-out couch and gas-burning fireplace, family room with wood-burning stove, a/c, furnace, and a fully-equipped kitchen. We have DirecTV, a DVD player with a good collection of movies, as well as books and games for your entertainment at those times when you can drag yourself away from the water. We now have wifi!! You will find a charcoal and gas grill outside. We have a dock for your boat or for great fishing. We are located 25 miles north of Rice Lake and 20 minutes south of the famous tourist destination of Hayward, WI. There are ATV trails just down the road and two nearby boat landings. This is a cozy cabin for a family or couple getaway. We also have a pontoon with a 40 hp engine for rent. Inquire if interested in renting the pontoon.

Ryan and Mary's cabin is the perfect place for a small family getaway. The 3 season porch overlooks the lake and it's the perfect location to enjoy your morning coffee. My wife and I actually spent more time there than in the cabin! Beds were very comfortable and the window AC unit kept the cabin plenty cool even with temperatures approaching 90 degrees. We will definitely be booking here again.

The screened in porch was awsome. We were out there a lot reading. Only bit of a downfall was the very small bathroom, but we made it work!

The cabin was clean and well stocked with the essentials. The beds were very comfortable and the room air conditioner was able to keep the entire cabin cool even though it was 90 all week. The big screened in porch with an outside deck was a nice place to relax and enjoy the view of the lake.The pontoon was clean, ran great and reasonably priced for the whole week. Fishing was good considering the temperature and Canadian wildfire smoke.The host answered any questions we had in a timely manner. I would recommend this cabin for a fun and relaxing vacation.

A location for a great getaway

Cabin was perfect for our father-son fishing trip. All the necessary amenities were provided. Rent the pontoon, it’s worth it.

Cabin getaway

My wife and I loved our stay along with our dog. It was a peaceful relaxing cabin on a terrific lake. Lots of fish caught and everything available with the stay. We very much appreciated our time and would love to be back !

Cabin on the Lake

This is a cutely decorated cabin on the lake. We had a wonderful, relaxing week! Spent a lot of time on the pontoon fishing. Enjoyed time on the screened in porch overlooking the lake. Loved watching the eagles!

Super cute and quaint!

We loved this property! The views of the lake were amazing! I was impressed with how clean and comfortable the cabin was. The icing on top of the cake was that we had our dog with us.

Loved the campfire!

Nice peaceful setting Good access to lake The fish cleaning station was a plus. Cozy bedroom. Kitchen and eating area very workable. Loved Lake Chetac. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

A wonderful little cabin!

Despite the fact that i ended up on crutches 2 days before our trip, it was a wonderful stay and we enjoyed every minute of it. The pontoon was awesome and we spent a great deal of time on the water. The cabin was clean and cozy. Would definitely return!

Beautiful property in peaceful surroundings

We had a wonderful and relaxing week. Loved the screened porch patio and enjoyed breakfast and dinner overlooking the lake. Loved the eagles. The only downside is the size of the shower, so tiny. Loved the pontoon, worth every penny. Thanks Mary & Ryan

Peaceful Getaway

We truly enjoyed our week on Lake Chetak. The location was very quiet and very peaceful and the Eagles were absolutely gorgeous. When we were not touring the lake on the Pontoon, we spent most of our time relaxing on the very peaceful screened porch or enjoying a nice bonfire. My only wish is that the cabin had Wifi. That said, we plan on returning.

Great time

Had a wonderful time. Very relaxing and stress free. Caught more fish than we could possibly keep. We ended up catching and releasing most. We would highly recommend this cabin if you want a peaceful and relaxing getaway. Can’t forget the wildlife. Bald eagles above and deer everywhere.

Rest lake vacation

Very peaceful lakeside location! Good bluegill fishing right off the dock. Renting the pontoon made the vacation, we were on it every day. Easy drive to Hayward shopping and sites, lots of bar/grills in the area. The screened porch was a lifesaver, the mosquito conditions were prime with the wet summer. Owners right next door, were available but not intrusive at all. Cottage was very well kept and very comfortable. Very nice lakeside cottage, highly recommended!

Nice cabin

Nice location on the lake .was cold and rainy most of the week, so gas fireplace was great We rented the pontoon, but because of the weather didn't use it much. Fishing was tuff but we had good luck off the dock. We caught bluegill , bass ,perch, crappie and northern pike from the dock

Clean, quiet, well set up cabin

Very clean and has everything you need! Loved the screen porch so much we are going to add one to our home. The whole place has a nice open feel. Nice grill and appliances. Was a quiet week on the lake which was exactly what we wanted. Fishing was enough to keep you interested but could have been better.,. Beds were comfortable. Great place on fabulous lake

The property setting is beautifully situated overlooking the lake. The cabin is roomy enough and nicely equipped. The screened in porch is a fabulous place to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The deck is a nice size and is the perfect spot to watch the sun set. A fish cleaning station with running water is awesome for cleaning the beautiful pan fish caught on Big Lake Chetac. The lake is fabulous with lots of room to have some fun and play, relax, or go fishing.

We are elementary school teachers who love the Northwoods lifestyle. We both grew up in Wisconsin and love to be near the water for relaxation and recreation. We love offering our Birchwood cabin for others to enjoy. We have met so many wonderful people from WI, MI, MN, IL, IA and Canada.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

When looking for a cabin, we wanted a lakeside, west-facing, charming, rustic, cozy cabin experience. We believe we found it. Our cabin is cedar sided, has knotty pine interior, and a large screened-in porch with a magnificent view of the lake. We wanted a recreational but quiet lake and we believe we found that in Big Lake Chetac.

We have been told by many people that we have an amazing, screened porch with perfect views of the lake and sunsets. We agree! Our cabin is within 25 minutes of Hayward and Rice Lake.
