The back porch and sitting room were definitely the highlight of the apartment. Loved the views of the bay. All communication with the owners was fast. Clear, and helpful. The only item that I warn people about is the noise from the dinner club below. It starts about 9:00 PM and goes until after midnight, and can become quite loud. I had read about it but totally underestimated how loud it really was. This is nothing the owner of the apartment can control so I lay no blame to them. But it did make it very difficult to get sleep if you need to get up early the next morning.

Very nice little flat in a awesome location. We had an amazing time in Lisbon and part of it was the location of our flat. Close to everything.Paula was a great host.

Good location for the Alfalma district. Enjoyed the outdoor space provided by the terrace. Photos make rooms look bigger than they are. Carlos was excellent in his check-in.

The apartment was clean and ready when promised and the hosts were flexible with accommodating our need for luggage drop off. The airport transfers were excellent and very much appreciated.The star of the show was absolutely the terrace where we spent a good deal of time.

Amazing location in the historic Alfama neighborhood with a fantastic balcony. The entire flat was great and charming, but the balcony really elevated our vacation. This was our first time to Lisbon, and I'm happy we chose to stay in Alfama, and even happier we found this apartment. Check-in and check out was easy (keyless), and our host provided numerous dining recommendations - all great.

Pros: Very clean and comfortable, the location was convenient and check-in with Carlos was very helpful and informative.Cons: The property is located directly above a bar/restaurant, and there is quite a bit of street noise in the front of the property where the bedrooms are located. Music was audible until midnight all three nights of our stay.

Lisbon

Nestled in a safe neighbor, we had an amazing stay filled with great food, cozy cafes, and wonderful, kind people. The view of the Tagus River is unsurpassed. We will definitely book here again.

This was the best VRBO I have stayed in. The apartment was stunning, and the location was perfect. The apartment was very airy and restful after a day of sightseeing. Loved Porto. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful.

Alfama District

Loved it. The pictures were like the property. The location was great with many souvenir shops and fado restaurants within walking distance. The view on the deck was great.

Super location

We absolutely loved our stay at this apartment, it was very comfortable and quite spacious by European standards. The view was spectacular and the neighborhood had many shops, bars and restaurants. We found ourselves ending the day near “home” before retreating to the terrace for a relaxing glass of wine while soaking up the ambiance. Would definitely stay here again

What a great place! The deck is so relaxing, spacious, and beautiful. You get the feel of the city and the ocean front. The host checked on our progress and location before arriving and made sure to be there to greet us. They sent us many great local suggestions on things to do and where to eat. The beds are comfortable. The house layout is so cute and nice because it's spread out. It has everything you need. If you're a light sleeper, you can use the room not close to the street so you won't hear the cars rolling over some loud plate in the road, but there's a fan in the room to help with that as well. The temperature was very comfortable. Everything was clean and cozy. We really enjoyed the location. There were many good restaurants nearby, and great fado music!!! We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely stay in Alfama with great terrace

The check-in process was smooth with lots of great information. The apartment was spotless and the terrace was definitely the highlight for us. The lounge area looked a little bigger in the pictures but was quite adequate. The third bedroom is windowless as mentioned in the description but being there in May, when it was not too hot, did work. Being an older apartment it does suffer a little with plumbing issues so keeping doors closed helped. This is a great apartment for exploring Alfama and the rest of Lisbon. We were happy with our stay.

I visited Lisbon with my sisters and our mom. Four of us in total. The apartment was just right. It had the space we needed. The kitchen had what we needed. The terrasse and water view were wonderful. We sat out there in the morning with our coffee and in the evening with glasses of wine. The host was very responsive. Even the neighbors were friendly. We only have one complaint and that’s why we decided to give an overall rating of 4 out of 5. The noise. It’s a great neighborhood, but there’s a lot of noise at night. Not just people strolling the street, but frequent midnight to 3am trash pickups. If you have the windows open in the two front bedrooms, it’s loud and disruptive. And another detail, the apartment sits right on top of Señor Fado, a Fado bar and restaurant. During the week, entertainment and applause lasted until midnight. On Friday and Saturday, it was much later. You can hear all of it in the apartment. If you are a night owl and don’t mind, this is a great place to stay. If you prefer to a quieter environment, this one may not be for you.

Catching up with girlfriends

Great location, super property, perfect for catching up with friends. The house has everything you need for a city break and is right in the heart of the old town in Alfama. Supermarket and restaurants on your doorstep. I would advise using the airport taxi rather than uber from the airport as the uber taxi can't drop you at the door and the streets are steep and cobbled and full of holes so my friend had trouble getting there with her luggage. The plus side of course is that uber is cheaper. She paid 11 euros, we paid 21 euros in the airport taxi. Highly recomend this property and this area of Lisbon.

We have stayed in this unit for both of our trips to Lisbon. 2021 and 2022. Absolutely LOVE the location and the patio. We had some pretty severe stench in the unit due to the toilet releasing a sewage type odor. Maintenance did try to repair but it didn't help much. The TV was not working, which is fine because we don't spend much time watching TV in this beautiful city, but it should be operational. A unit as potentially beautiful as this, could definitely use some updating and renovation. Still love it. Thanks for reaching out

Amazing Portugal Experience

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing the sunrise and sunset on one’s terrace. We had a front row seat to that EVERY day! Our apartment was on a lively street. We became neighbors with shopkeepers, cafe owners and the local mercado clerks. The famous # 28 tram was close by, but learned from the locals it was better to take the Red tram rather than the yellow one. The train station was at bottom of hill and we took it to several cities outside Lisbon. The prices were reasonable and the adventures were wonderful. Our hosts were OUTSTANDING! I have used VRBO for many stays across the world, and I will tell you that they are the Best! A friend that was staying with us for a week of the three we were there, asked if we would ever go back and the answer is definitely YES! YES! YES! Thank you for introducing us to such a beautiful city! Amy L

Perfect Location!

What a fantastic vacation! In early June, My sister-in-law, two nieces, and I had the pleasure of staying at Paula's place in the Alfama area of Lisbon. I was traveling from Singapore and arrived later than the others who came from the U.S., so they met Carlos for the check-in. They said he was great! He shared lots of tips that came in handy during our stay. The apartment was perfect for our needs. It overlooks a quaint street lined with excellent restaurants and bars, which can be quite loud as the night progresses, but the windows are equipped with additional closures that reduce the noise significantly. I preferred to fall asleep to the sounds of people partying and having fun right below my window. The balcony at the rear of the building provides a beautiful view of the river and it was fun to watch the cruise ships come in and leave each day - all while overlooking the incredible tile roofs of the buildings surrounding us. We stayed for nine days and got to know the local restauranteurs and shop owners. They treated us like family. We hope to return to Lisbon, stay at Paula's place, and see our newly-made friends again! Thanks, Paula and Carlos, for the memorable stay in Alfama.

Incredible neighborhood with beautiful views

I absolutely loved the location of this property. Alfama is one of the older neighborhoods in Lisbon and is packed with life, lots of little shops, restaurants & bars wedged into little nooks & crannies up and down its narrow streets. There are a lot of hills, so be prepared for the occasional steep climb. But totally worth it, IMO. The apartment itself was very nice, with three bedrooms and two baths with showers. Kitchen was bigger than others I've seen and also includes a washer for laundry. The front of the property offers two bedrooms a street view, while the living room in the back opens to a sizeable patio overlooking the water and narrow streets below. Truly a stunning view and worth the price of admission alone. The AC unit worked very well at keeping the space cool with the weather hot outside. Hosts were very communicative and helpful in getting us into the property a bit early and provided some valuable info on sites to see in & around Lisbon and transportation options (hop on tram 28 at some point!). Keycodes provided made getting in and out a snap. Overall, I loved Lisbon and the Alfama neighborhood in particular. Would rent this property again in a heartbeat.

A very authentic experience in a historic neighborhood.

Great communication, very clean, very attentive management. This place has a lot of old world charm and I would believe it if someone told me it was built in the late 1700's. :-) The very old hardwood floors are beautiful. The outdoor sitting space is gorgeous with an incredible river view. The decor is near perfect and the furniture is wonderful. you'll find a ton of quaint restaurants and shops within steps of the front door. Some realities: Two bedrooms are on the street side which is very noisy at night. There is a lot of traffic and loud people leaving the until well after midnight. A community garbage pick up point is right outside the front door and under two bedrooms. When they pick up at night, the sound is deafening. One of the bedrooms has zero windows and the ceiling fan did not work for us. While the river view was amazing, every day of our stay we had one or more gigantic cruise ships just outside on the river docks. The photos of the listing are old and dont' show the facilities but there are large loading/unloading ramps and elevated walkways to handle the cruise passenger traffic. That being said, my family enjoyed our stay.
