Ashford Village: Birch Hill House is situated a short stroll to the picturesque village of Ashford. Located approx 30 miles south of Dublin city and airport, it is ideally located for visitors to this wonderful part of Ireland. County Wicklow is known as 'The Garden County ' and there are many private gardens and stately homes which open to the public close by. Just a short stroll minutes from the house however, is Mount Usher gardens, which was voted the “Best garden to visit in Ireland” by BBC Gardeners World The shopping courtyard features a wonderful restaurant and there are myriad specialty shops with the best of Irish food, furniture and crafts on offer. Also in the village you can enjoy a drink of Guinness in front of a log fire, while working up a hunger to enjoy a tasty meal in one of the two fine restaurants.

We were a group of 4 retired friends, and we spent a wonderful week in this amazing place…so comfortable and such a great interesting modern ‘industrial’ vibe. Lovely private outdoor patio space, and great location for touring Co Wicklow. The hosts, who live next door, were very friendly, responsive and helpful.

The accommodations were perfect for our large family. A beautiful, quiet retreat. The kitchen was very well equipped, the outdoor patio spacious, lovely and private. We had a delicious brunch at Avoca in the Mt. Usher Gardens, 5 minutes away. Location great for many outdoor activities in Wicklow.

Just returned from an amazing week in Wicklow.The house was beyond our expectations, immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, quality beds and bedding. Showers were hot and water pressure amazing. Photos do not do this house justice. Una met us on arrival and was helpful and friendly with some great recommendations for things to do in the area and places to eat. I have nothing negative to say about this property!

This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The hosts were super flexible and kind. Our family felt safe and truly at home. The architecture was fabulous. This is a great place today and if we come back to the Dublin area, we would stay here again!

Beautiful secluded location, surrounded by lush greenery. Extremely well planned design layout with plenty of bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. Cosy living room and gorgeous kitchen/dining room, big enough to hold the 8 of us with room to spare. Yet - also has easy access to loads of amenities and attractions. This property is as close to perfection as it gets! Thank you for your hospitality! Was a 10 out of 10

Una made our stay fabulous - from her fantastic communication ahead of our approval, to her accommodating our earlier arrival and later check out and the fantastic cottage with everything you need, a true home from home! The beds were sooooo comfy, the showers super warm and powerful and the kitchen having everything you need to make it the perfect base to explore nearby Ashford and everything else nearby! We couldn’t have asked for anymore! Thanks again for a fabulous stay! Well definitely be returning when we’re next back visiting family.

Rustic Luxury Hideaway

Great accommodation in a beautiful area and superb hosts. All the necessities are provided and a nice sociable outdoor space too. Would definitely recommend.

Great spot to stay!

Thus property was exactly what we were looking for in the wicklow mountains. Its convenient loction to dublin made it an easy pick. The stay wqs grat, lots of room, fantastic outside space, beds were numerous in every room and each one had a full bath.

Our stay at Pete & Una’s was absolutely wonderful. The home was beautiful and well-kept, very clean, and easy to access. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for our group. The pictures, while beautiful, don’t do it justice, it’s more beautiful in person - it is truly a magical space, like living in a terrarium in some rooms, while feeling tucked away in a private space. They have gorgeous unique touches within their decor. It is truly an enchanting find and we felt so fortunate to be there. The location was close to town and the town itself was close by many of the areas we were traveling. The home had all of the amenities we needed: washer/dryer, kitchen tools, dishwasher, iron, hairdryer, etc. The fireplace was lovely each day to use. The home was extremely clean and thoroughly prepared for our stay. As hosts, they were such kind people and were so helpful with questions both before and during our stay. We are looking forward to coming back in the future.
