The Lovely Lorelei - Historic District - Great Location!!

Welcome to the Lorelei, A lovely 6 bedroom, 6 Bath Victorian located in the historic district of Cape May. Just three blocks to the beautiful beaches and just 1 and a half blocks to the center of town, (where there are plenty of restaurants, shopping and theater) you will LOVE the location.
Many updates since we purchased in 2015 with new wood floors and tile floors on the ground level, New tile floors in every bathroom, refinished original wooden floors In living room. And dining room,
new carpeting in 2018 in third floor bedrooms and both upstairs hallways and staircases. Newly painted bathrooms.
New stovetop and oven in 2018.
The whole exterior of the home has been repainted in 2018 in “mermaid colors” Beautiful garden, patio, fencing and spectacular wraparound porch, The perfect vantage point for people watching and for the Christmas parade!
2019, Additional cabinet installed in the kitchen with all new quartz countertops. Updated chalk painted cabinets and new glass tile backsplash. (new kitchen photo not up yet)
Kitchen has Traditional toaster, toaster oven, traditional coffee maker, Keurig coffee pod system, blender, food processor, handmixer, crockpot and new for 2019 Instant pot. Cook up a storm!

All bedrooms with its own flat screen TV and our den has a 50 inch wall hung flat screen and BLU-ray DVD player plus a collection of DVDs for your use.
Our living room also has a flat screen.
House is fully air conditioned and heated and has Wi-Fi throughout. There is a full wraparound porch for enjoying the sights. There is a private fenced in Paver patio with trellis to enter area for barbecuing and seating for outdoor dining. Outdoor shower in rear patio as well. Washer/Dryer on premises along with all modern amenities. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.. (Most en suite,) Plenty of off street parking make this a great stay. A Beach Box is available for all our guests right at the beach. No need to carry back and forth your chairs, etc. Keep everything secured right at the beach! Perfect house for extended families, reunions or corporate events. Great escape for girls week away or guys golf outing. Lots of privacy for all. Come and make your own Cape May memories at this lovely vacation home. ** New EV charger was installed early June 2026..

We had a great stay at the Lorelei with a large group! Having bathrooms for each bedroom was amazing. The descriptions and photos are all accurate to the actual accommodations. The location was ideal as it was walking distance to the beach, shops, groceries and restaurants. The parking fit all 3 of our large vehicles with room to spare. The box on the beach with chairs and umbrellas was super convenient. Lori the host was very friendly and highly communicative. Would highly recommend!

We had a marvelous stay at this beautiful Victorian beach house in Cape May! The house was absolutely charming, comfortable, and perfect for our family of nine!One of our favorite features was the wraparound porch, with plenty of chairs where we could relax and enjoy time together. Inside, the beautiful dining room and huge table were perfect for gathering everyone around for meals and game nights! There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, so our whole family had plenty of space and privacy!The location was fantastic. A short distance to the beach, shopping and wonderful restaurants! Everything about our stay was wonderful, and the house provided the perfect setting for a memorable family vacation! Lori the host was wonderful!Highly recommended!

We had a lovely week at Cape May, staying at the Lorelei. The house was beautiful, every bed room had their own bathroom. We loved the big wide porch and the location. Fantastic property.

Wonderful house, perfect location!

The house is just as described (charming, very clean, plenty of space for a large group) and in a perfect location to everything one needs in Cape May (center of town, Congress Hall, the beach). Lori, the host, is very kind and was extremely responsive to all our questions and requests. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend to others!

Relaxing and Comfortable

Thank you for your suggestion Our A/C system has been on non-stop since early June as we have been booked solid since. When our last renter left the day after Labor Day, our caretaker must have shut the A/C. We apologize . We had no idea it was off. And surprised the cleaners didn’t turn it back on. Lovely Holiday weekend

Lori was absolutely wonderful to deal with the entire time. We were five couples that travel together frequently, and the house was perfect for us. It was clean, comfortable, and everything we needed was provided. We will be back!

Wonderful location, beautiful home

We rented this property for a girls weekend. It was in the perfect location and such a wonderful property for our large group. Lori, the owner, was fantastic. She made herself available from the time we contacted her to rent the property through our rental weekend.

Great location & communication

Beautiful home in a great location! 3 blocks to the beach and less than 2 blocks to main part of town. Fantastic porch for relaxing, reading, or watching the people passing by. Plenty of rooms and space to spread out for our group of 11. Great communication before and during our stay with Lori, and very responsive to needs. Thank you!

Lovely Victorian house just a few blocks from downtown and the beach. My family came from Washington State, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday and it couldn't have gone better. Plenty of space for the four vehicles we arrived in right outside the kitchen entrance. We cooked our meals in the well-equipped kitchen (or on the gas barbeque on the patio right outside the kitchen door) and spent every evening on the big wrap-around porch visiting and catching up. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable (all, as I recall, with very efficient AC units). Plenty of bathrooms. A homey living area downstairs with a huge dining room table that seated all 11 of us comfortably. A great house! But it was the host that made this experience so special. Lori is a delight! Her communication with us was stellar. She reached out to us numerous times before our stay to explain about linens, how the beach box works, and all the little details that helped us get the most out of our stay. When we had questions and texted her she responded within minutes every time. She's also incredibly clever and my wife and I really enjoyed the way she communicated in a clear, timely and also fun way. This was my first experience with Vrbo and I cannot imagine a better ambassador for the brand. I recommend the Lorelei enthusiastically!

Family Trip to celebrate a 60th birthday

Wonderful Victorian located in the heart of everything. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, beach and activities. The house was clean and the perfect size for our party of 11. Kitchen is fully stocked! Lori is great to deal with communication was easy and quick. We will be back!

Beautiful Home! Great Location!

We spent the weekend of Oct. 12-14 at Lorelei and couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. There were 12 women and we spread out in the ample bedrooms and enjoyed the large dining table for our gatherings which included a private chef cooking for us! The home has ample parking (we parked five cars) but never had to move them as it is in walking distance of everything - shopping, beach, dining, liquor stores, etc. The host was truly accommodating to all of our needs from the moment we booked until we arrived. A great place to stay!

Charming home in the heart of Cape May

A group of 10 of us stayed for the week, and found the house to have plenty of space to convene and spread out as we liked. Check in was easy, just parked and got the code. Linens were waiting for us on the porch when we got there (rented separately). We went out to eat or got takeout most of the nights, but all the appliances were in good working order, and we were able to cook a couple of the nights without issue. Beach box was super helpful and made the walk to and from the beach very easy. Would recommend for anyone with a larger vacation group!

Family Beach week

The house was perfect for our requirements: staying with my husband and me were our 3 adult children, their spouses and children. We fit 13 people comfortably and each had his/her own space for sleeping. The wrap around porch was great for sitting, reading and people watching and the patio was a nice gathering place after the beach etc. Cape May is a lovely town with beautiful beaches and a plethora of shops. The host was very quick and gracious and responsive to all questions.

Fabulous amenities!

The house is great - and all the little extras were very much appreciated - like 6 beach tags, the beach box, tissues (other rentals don't seem to think of this), excellent AC (it was a VERY hot week), a well equipped kitchen, and a wonderful wrap around porch. The very thoughtful welcome basket was a great added touch. Lori is very responsive if you have any questions or concerns. Planning to come back next year - and hopefully many years after!

Thanksgiving in Cape May with Family

From beginning to end, the owner, Lori was amazing. She responded immediately to all of our questions and requests. We cooked most meals at the house as we were a large group. The kitchen offered all appliances, plates, pots, etc needed for our group. The home was a short walk to the Washington Mall, Harriet Tubman Museum and beach. A few minutes ride to the lighthouse and other attractions. Accommodated our family of various ages. Would definitely return again. Thank you Lori for being a great host.

Girl Cousins Weekend!

Without a doubt, my best experience with VRBO yet! Lori, our host could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The house is comfortable and beautifully decorated. It truly enhanced our Cape May experience. So close to the Cape May shopping area and a nice walk to the beach. This was perfect for the 13 of us. Smaller groups could go their own way and meet back at the house for group conversation, games, happy hour and laughter! We all had not been together in so long. The house, the location, the attention from Lori, and of course reconnecting with cousins, all served to rejuvenate the soul! Thank you Lori, for helping to make it special!

Great family vacation at The Lovely Lorelei, Cape May, NJ

Beautiful Victorian styled house, at great location. House exterior is colorful and ornate, matching the charm of surrounding town. On front porch every evening. Walking distance to beach, the mall, mini-golf, various shops, grocery store, restaurants and ice-cream. We only used vehicles twice; First for trip to Cape May Zoo and to Sunset Beach one evening. Lori (owner) is down-to earth, quick to respond, honest and all-around a pleasure to interact with. Beach box to store some chairs/ umbrellas. I believe each bedroom had its own bath, which was nice. Each bedroom had its own mini split (AC), which all us guys appreciated (extra blankets in closets for the ladies). Off-street parking for 4-5 cars. 15 in our group; 9 adults and 6 children. We moved some knick-knacks up to higher shelves, as we had lots of curious little hands. Highly recommended!

We are originally from NYC but now reside in Northern New Jersey so we can be close to our two favorite places...CAPE MAY AND NYC!
