Magnificent property and owners

Easy to find from eurotunnel and ferry port- 35 minutes drive. Beautiful countryside. Wonderfully presented accommodation and comfortable and spotless! Owners are prefect hosts - making holiday even more special!

A beautiful gite. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. A wonderful place to stay. Our hosts were very helpful and were always on hand with information if needed.

Prachtig

Prachtig huisje, veel ruimte, gezellig ingericht, alles zeer schoon, netjes en compleet! We hebben ook genoten van de tafeltennistafel, de fietsen, en het tafelvoetbalspel. Mooie omgeving, drie kwartier van de zee.

À la découverte du Pays de Saint-Omer…

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à la Métairie. Le gîte est charmant, très bien équipé et d’une grande propreté. Sa situation à 15 minutes de Saint-Omer est vraiment appréciable et les activités autour sont pléthores. De plus, Élisabeth et Jean-Louis sont vraiment à l’écoute et fort réactifs. Je recommande vivement la Métairie !

Gîte parfait

Ce gîte est vraiment merveilleux. Il est grand et extrêmement bien aménagé, décoré, équipé et entretenu. De plus Jean-Louis et Elisabeth sont des hôtes d'une extrême gentillesse et générosité.

Fantastisch fijn huis, voorzien van alles, met een prachtige tuin in een schitterende omgeving.

Het huis is aangenaam groot met twee slaapkamers, twee badkamers, een grote woonkamer, en een ruime keuken. Het huis is onderdeel van een mooie oude boerenhoeve, waarvan de rest niet meer wordt gebruikt maar wel goed is onderhouden. Op de grote binnenplaats met bloemenperk kan de auto veilig worden geparkeerd en kan men van de ochtendzon genieten. In de tuin aan de andere kant van het huis, ook met een prachtig bloemenperk, kan men genieten van de namiddagzon. Het huis is voorzien van alles dat je nodig hebt; aan alles is gedacht. De inrichting van het huis is handig en mooi; goede bedden met mooi beddengoed, goed en mooi meubilair, en overal prachtige decoraties. Kortom een heerlijk huis en we voelden ons er meteen thuis. De website van het huis geeft een correct beeld; de werkelijkheid ís nog mooier. Ook de omgeving van het huis is prachtig, en er is verrassend veel te zien. Het dorp, Remilly-Wirquin, ligt in het dal van de Aa. In het dorp is op loopafstand een superette, dat is een kleine levensmiddelenwinkel. Prachtige glooiende landschappen brengen je in andere dorpjes - zoals Esquerdes en Lumbres - en stadjes - zoals Saint-Omer - met oude kerken, fascinerende watermolens, romantische kasteeltjes, gezellige markten, en fijne restaurants. Ook dichtbij liggen prachtige kustrotsen (twee 'caps', dichtbij Audinghen, en Ambleteuse), gezellige badplaatsen (zoals Boulogne-sur-Mer en Le Touquet) en grotere steden met veel cultuur (Lens en Lille). Er is veel om van te genieten. De eigenaren van het huis wonen dichtbij en hebben ons op vorstelijke wijze ontvangen. Zij hebben ons ook heel goed wegwijs gemaakt in dit prachtige deel van Frankrijk, mede met behulp van vele brochures en boeken over Pas de Calais en de Côte d’Opale. Kortom, ons verblijf van acht dagen in 'La Métairie' was fantastisch en onvergetelijk. Van harte aanbevolen!

Wonderful property

We stayed here for 2 weeks in July and thoroughly enjoyed the property. The Cottage was very clean and comfortable, with good quality fixtures and fittings. This was the first time we have stayed in a cottage and I feel we may have been spoilt for future rentals. The owners made the whole process really easy with great communication.

Wow, what a fantastic property!

This property is the best we have stayed in by far during our 20 years of visiting France, simply stunning! This house has got to be the cleanest ever it was immaculate all the way through. The decor and furniture are top quality and the house is well laid out with plenty of room! The kitchen is amazing! The outdoor area is well secluded and has loads of space especially the front court yard, ample space for quite a few cars! The only downside was we couldn't get any English TV channels so my in-laws could watch their soaps!! We had a wonderful stay at "gite Metairie" and we will definitely be returning in the future! Elisabeth and Jean Louis are lovely owners who gave us a very warm welcome indeed! Look forward to seeing you again sometime soon, no complaints just compliments from the Pygott family.

Thank you for your kind word but I regret you didn't see english TV channel because there are english channels :228 to 238 : France 24, sky news, CNN, CNBC,bloomberg,BBC word,NHK word ... you should have asked us . We were at your disposal for any information . I am so sorry .
