Grand Manor Historic Mansion Bird of Paradise Suite

A top rated travel accommodation for many years, this historic east end mansion's downtown location offers the best location on the island to experience big mansion life and grandeur within easy walking distances to many of the islands best cafes and fun nightlife spots plus all the great shopping and attraction on the "Strand" and waterside restaurants. The suite is located in a grand mansion with a famous and sometimes infamous past where all can enjoy some of the finest architecture seen anywhere o the island. The room is a large king suite with a private bathroom with a grand claw-foot tub and shower located outside room in hall beside room. The room has a sleeper sofa and we can add a single for a total of 4 guests.
Guest have use of all space in the mansion including a large outdoor veranda , outdoor shower and sitting areas.
Inside the mansion guests are not stuck to just their room as they can use our grand dining room, kitchen and we have a special guest pantry with water, coffees and teas for our guest.

This place is truly amazing! We had a peaceful, relaxing stay at Grand Manor. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The lady that runs Grand Manor is one of the sweetest people that we have met.This place is also very close to all Galveston attractions. We will definitely be back to stay again.

If you’re looking for historical character, comfortable beds, and walking distance to shops and restaurants, this is where you want to stay! Brian was an excellent host and communicated everything we needed to know. He went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The common areas are beautiful and appropriate to the period the home was built. We love finding historical gems to stay in when we visit Galveston and this is now at the top of our list

Lovely old house in Galveston. Our room we very comfortable. The private bath was across the hall but that wasn’t a problem. Very nice accommodation and an easy walk to the restaurants, 1894 Opera House, and the Strand.

The Grand Mansion was amazing. Beautifully decorated with all the amenities you may need. The only thing that would make it better would be a pool.Brian and Karin were amazing hosts and extremely friendly. I would highly recommend staying there

We stayed in the Garden Lace- it’s a nice tucked away room. The property was beautiful, the owners were great, it was very relaxed and homey. We loved it!

Our stay was great. The only issue is that logging into the site it seems only one of the rooms in the mansion are listed. The other rooms are not shown at all, and you can only find out about them through contact with the host. I find this difficult to book for another visit should I plan to stay there again.

We loved the unique mansion. It was in a great location and we walked all over the place. We checked in early not intending to-just wanted to use the main floor bathroom and our host said our room was ready and answered a few questions about places to eat. It was a quiet and relaxing stay and highly recommend!

Galveston stay

Very close to the Strand and local restaurants were very good. The owners were very accommodating in allowing us to drop off our luggage early, as we had disembarked from our cruise.

Stunning house!! Brian and Karin were the consummate hosts. Beautifully decorated with modern amenities. Pet friendly (we have a parrot that we brought with us), some brought their cat, some brought dogs. Walking distance to restaurants and The Strand. Very safe neighborhood. Highly, highly recommended!! We will definitely be staying there again.

2nd stay... it's a gem. Regal and cozy, with many delicious restaurants within walking distance. Close enough to the beach to get there fast, but without being in the middle of the traffic. Quiet, chill, and quite affordable

Please note: if you are looking for the conveniences of a modern hotel, this may not be the place for you. However, if you appreciate the charm and character of a historic home, it has a lot to offer.Our accommodations were clean, well cared for, and had a unique historic feel. The property clearly has character, and we appreciated that it was maintained nicely. That said, there are a few things future guests should be aware of. The mattress was a little firmer than we prefer, though some guests may like that. The window air conditioner was also fairly loud, but that is somewhat expected when staying in an older historic home rather than a modern hotel.Another important detail is that our private bathroom was located down the hall rather than directly inside the room. It was still private, but guests who prefer an en-suite bathroom should take that into consideration before booking.Overall, this is a good choice for travelers who enjoy historic charm, cleanliness, and a more traditional guesthouse experience. It may not be the best fit for someone expecting modern hotel amenities, updated soundproofing, or maximum convenience.
