OCEAN/BEACH FRONT, HUGE YARD, SUNSET VIEW

Ocean front, sunset facing, property is the only one in the area that has a huge yard and beach. 4-bedrooms, beautiful sunroom, fireplace, gazebo.

The beach in front of the house is sandy with some shells and small rocks (rocky once you get inside the water) and some of it is accessible even at high-tide. The beach is semi-private, accessible only to members of Cornfield Point, which means you might see a few people out there sometimes, especially during peak season (July/August).

Air-conditioning is via window units in the bedrooms only. Living areas have quiet oscillating fans. Most find this to be very comfortable because of consistent ocean breeze.

The neighborhood association has tennis and basketball courts as well as a big playground.

Old Saybrook is a quiet beach town that's very family friendly. It's also known for it's many great dining options.

In addition to the beach right in front of the house, there are 3 other beaches within a 10-20 min walk.

The first is the Cornfield Point community beach, which is about a 2 min walk from the house. This beach is big and sandy in and out of the water.

The second is the Town Beach, which is 10 min walk from the house. This beach is slightly bigger than the community beach and is also all sandy in and out of the water. This beach also has picnic tables and a store that sells food and beverages.

The third is called Harvey's beach which is another 10 min up the road. This popular beach is uniquely beautiful - sandy, rocky, grassy. Also, has concession stand.

Cornfield Point House

Our second stay at the cottage. We spent a long weekend and the weather cooperated. The house is quite quirky, but has a really pleasant feel at home vibe. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen could use some updates, but was sufficient. (still need a new can opener) The porch overlooking the Sound is magical. Nice neighborhood. If you have one...bring a golf cart! Lots of golf carts about. Host is always pleasant, communicating through Vrbo. We hope to return again. Thank you Khalig Family for sharing your home.

Cousins Road Trip

The backyard with ocean frontage is spectacular. We loved sitting in the rocking chairs watching the sunset as well as early morning fishermen. On arrival, the property was not clearly marked with a number and maneuvering the neighborhood was confusing. We love the quaint antique decor. However, the kitchen area was not as clean as we would have expected.

Stunning view

It is a home full of so much character. The view is amazing and could stay on that front porch from morning till night. We would love to come back again. We only had one day to actually hang and enjoy the property and it was misty and overcast. So the porch made us feel outside anyway.

Great location and property!!!

Amazing house on the beach with tons of space for fun!!! We loved being right on the water. The kids found crabs and fished with some of the locals. Would definitely rent this place again!!

Excellent shore stay

Three generations of our family had a great time. The location is amazing, right on the sound and with what is essentially your own private beach most of the time (other than the neighborhood dogs swimming first thing). The beach is a little rocky but there’s also access to a sandy beach 2 blocks away. This is clearly a well-used house but in a way that just made us feel at ease. Easy and clear communication.

Relaxing Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The accommodations were comfortable and the sunroom was the perfect spot on a rainy day to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful view. Otherwise we were out in the yard in front of a fire enjoying it. Our host Zak was very accommodating and available for any questions we had. Would recommend to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy to coast.

Cornfield Point

This was a charming and cozy house. It has that quintessential cottage feel of welcome. While the cottage could use some upgrades, there was nothing that we had to have that was missing (except maybe a new can opener. Had our stay been longer I would have replaced it, but I never got out to the store). Communication with the host was excellent, all through the vrbo site. The location was so lovely. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walking our dog. Grandchildren enjoyed the yard and the beach. Thank you to Zak for opening up and sharing your Family home with us. We hope to be back!

charming location

cute neighborhood and the house was extremely well located with direct access to a small private beach. Large garden and plenty of space. The house could use some updating, but all in all we had a great time and would recommend it

Family Gathering

We loved the house, the yard, the view, and the beach. The beds were super comfortable. We found plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, buckets and shovels for the kids. We also loved our proximity to Harvey Beach down the street. We would stay again.

Great Family retreat

Wonderful location! Quaint property with spectacular views. Loved little beach and sunroom overlooking sound. Everyone mentioned how comfortable their bed was. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful beach house

The view from the sun porch is spectacular! We love our 10 days here. We took advantage of crabbing, fishing right in front of the house and simple beach days at the town beach. We played lots of games in the side yard. I couldn’t believe we were so lucky to get it. Stop and Shop and a Walmart are conveniently close by.

Disappointed

It is indicated there is air conditioning but only in bedrooms living area only has fans. Kitchen cabinets unusable so much clutter and dirty. Yard was not safe for children glass in yard, junk wood in yard garbage along property line. Dryer never worked. Key did not open doors was lucky that window by door open so I could reach through to unlock door. No directions for anything oven had to be Set at 475 to reach 350. No cleaning products. Downstairs bed mattress so old. This house could be beautiful but will not be returning.

Great location

Spacious house has room for everyone. Enjoy the patio while the kids run in the huge yard. Breath taking views. Enjoy the comfort of the front room while relaxing to the sights and sounds of the ocean. Shopping and restaurants are nearby. The owners are easily accessible. There’s a private small beach and also a great public beach a short walk away.

Visit with family in area while enjoying a waterfront vacation

The location was perfect with beautiful views and lots of outdoor property to enjoy social distance when our small family came for short visits during our stay. Great oceanfront property

We had a great 3 weeks at 27 West Shore Road. The house was exactly as advertised but we had no idea just how amazing the property was. 3 oceanfront lots with a lovely huge lawn and small beach in front, who could ask for more. The owner was very communicative wanting to make sure we were enjoying our stay. And, we DID!!! So sad to leave. House is large and beds were comfortable. We loved our time there and would return in a heartbeat!
