Sara is a very welcoming but discrete host. The house is very comfortable and provided all the essentials. The garden is lovely and secluded. We loved the location, quiet but not far from the small city of Arriondas. We visited wonderful beaches and did some beautiful hikes in de nearby mountains. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Peaceful rural location

This was our first visit to the Asturias region of northern Spain and we would definitely visit again. La Rondita was a rustic delight, with everything that we needed for our stay. Many thanks to our host who gave us lots of useful tips to help us enjoy our stay.

Beautiful & convenient location, excellent hosts

The location is beautiful with fine views from the peaceful garden in which we enjoyed relaxing. Arriondas is great location, about 20km on a good road from the coast with fine beaches and stunning coastal walks. You're also right next to the Picos de Europa with lovely mountain scenery and walks: about an hours drive from the start of the Cares Gorge walk. The 17Km canoe trip down the river Sella which runs past the property was great fun. Sara and Bill are excellent hosts offering great advice and where happy to book local restaurants. Two weeks went very quickly, we certainly didn't feel like we were running out of things to do.

Peaceful, comfortable, great for families

La Rondita is in an ideal location for the Picos de Europa, and the beaches of North Eastern Spain. The house is very well equipped with comfortable beds and was easily large enough for our family of 2 adults and 3 teenage girls. Bill and Sara are excellent hosts, providing local knowledge and advice for the huge range of activities that are possible to do. We particularly enjoyed the variety of walks, both from the house and within a relatively short drive. The Cares Gorge is an excellent day out, we took the bus to Cain and walked down to Poncebos where we were able to get another bus back. The beaches nearby are excellent being quiet, mainly sandy and popular with the locals. We stayed for two weeks had an excellent time and there were still a number of activities that we could have done if we had wanted to. We highly recommend this beautiful house.

8 Days on Spains Green coast

Fuentes is ideally situated to visit both the mountains of the Picos and the beaches on the nearby coast too. We made excursions every day visiting rivers, beaches, caves, stunning mountain viewpoints and even a dinosaur museum- which the kids loved. La Rondita was fantastic - relaxing and quiet , we particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden and soaking up the sun late afternoon after a busy day exploring the area. We were outside every evening eating in the garden too. Sara was a excellent in helping us with everything and a very welcoming host. It was nice to have an owner nearby which added a particularly personal touch to our week. Having used vrbo a lot many of our other rentals didn't have this. Can't recommend La Rondita or the Arriondas area enough. We will return and, as our two girls get bigger, explore more of the high Picos de Europa.

The house is on a little-used road on the edge of a very small village. The host lives next door and is really friendly, helpful and thoughtful, while also respecting your privacy in every way. You can walk out of the front door to the river, or up into hills and woods, or drive a little further into serious mountains. The nearest town with shops and restaurants is a 10-minute drive away along a country road. There are a great many sandy beaches within easy reach by car and, in some cases, by very cheap public transport. A little train passes through the local station at odd intervals - you hail it like a bus. There's also an hourly bus service to and from the coast that stops a short walk away. The house is very clean, comfortable and well equipped, and has a private garden with table, chairs and a view of trees and mountains. The host provides plenty of information about the many activities available in the local area, but this is also a great place to do very little but soak up the peace, quiet and beauty of nature.

A Wonderful Holiday!

We have recently spent a wonderful two weeks staying at La Rondita. I had spotted La Rondita about 5 years ago and knew it was somewhere I wanted to bring my husband and two teenage daughters one day. It was certainly worth the wait and exceeded my expectations. The house is in a small village (Fuentes) but only a 10 minute drive from Arriondas which is quite a sizeable town with supermarkets; restaurants; bars, shops, chemist, hospital etc. The house was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The owners (Sara and Bill who live opposite) were very helpful and gave us lots of tips and information. This is not something we have experienced in our previous holidays to Asturias and really enhanced our holiday and gave it a very personal touch. The area really has something for everyone. We enjoyed some very scenic walks in the mountains and some relaxing days on the glorious beaches of which there are many (Cueves del Mar was our favourite). We spent a day in Oviedo (1 hours drive) sight-seeing and shopping. We all enjoyed canoeing down the River Sella and were lucky enough to be there for the International Canoe Festival which was quite a spectacle. All in all it was a wonderful holiday and I can thoroughly recommend La Rondita and the area. Thank you Sara and Bill for everything.

Fantásticas vacaciones. Todo espectacular.

El alquiler me ha parecido apropiado. El trato de la anfitriona, exquisito. La casita, una pasada, bonita y ajustada a las imágenes q ofrecían en Internet. Entorno muy chulo. Absolutamente recomendable.

Muy buena ubicación

Hemos estadi una semana y es un alojamiento muy acogedor y cumplía las medidas de seguridad sanitarias. Está muy. Bien ubicado al lado del río Sella, donde nos vamos bañado todos los días. Junto a Cangas de Onis y Picos de Europa y por otra parte al lado de Ribadesella y por tanto de la costa oriental. Sara vive al lado y pendiente de que nuestra sea agradable y no falte nada. La única pega es que el Wifi no llega bien, lo que para los niños era un inconveniente. Lo recomiendo cien por cien para descansar y disfrutar de esta bella parte de Asturias

Si, la wifi no va muy rápido y hemos intentado ponerlo diferente, pero no hay manera cuando vives en la naturaleza y tranquilidad. Pero es una tema que seguimos mirando mientras cambia la tecnología. Hospitalidad y calma 100%

Hemos estado en La Rondita una semana. Ha sido un viaje familiar y, la verdad, es que parece otro país! Asturias es preciosa! Para mí era la tercera vez (y sé que volveremos) y para otros miembros de la familia era la primera vez, por lo que el impacto ha sido mayor... La casa tenía mucho encanto y el entorno estaba lleno de calma que invitaba a descanso. A unos 12’ (4’5 km) de Arriondas, en Fuentes, estábamos rodeados de verde y de mucha agua (al ladito, el río Sella). Sara ha sido muy atenta y nos hemos sentido como en casa, siempre dispuesta a ofrecernos su ayuda. Además viven enfrente con lo que los teníamos muy cerquita. A pesar del tiempo, hemos aprovechado al máximo los días, hemos visitado Ribadesella, Llanes, Gijon y Oviedo, los Picos de Europa... e incluso San Vicente de la Barquera, Comillas y Santillana del Mar, ya de Cantabria. Precioso! Y La Rondita y sus alrededores, con todo su encanto al 100%.

Un pedacito de cielo en el corazón de Asturias

Buenos días Sara, solo quería darte las gracias por tu hospitalidad, atención y amabilidad. La casa es preciosa y el entorno realmente increíble!! Nos hemos sentido muy cómodos. A la casa no le falta detalle, tiene todo lo necesario y es muy acogedora. La ubicación perfecta para hacer excursiones tanto de playa como de montaña. El paisaje hermoso y muy tranquilo. Tiene toda la información necesaria y detallada de los lugares más bonitos para visitar: Pueblos, playas, restaurantes, actividades al aire libre, rutas de senderismo, compras, gastronomía local..... Arriondas, la localidad más cercana, está provista de todo lo necesario. Sinceramente unos días magnificos a pesar de que el tiempo no nos acompañó mucho, aunque no ver Asturias con lluvia no tendría tanto encanto!! Seguro que repetiremos. Estancia agradable en general

Estancia en general agradable. Como inconvenientes destacar: - No son 3 habitaciones como tal lo que tiene la casa. La 3a habitación separada con muebles y ventanas se trata realmente de un ''hall'' en la parte superior donde llega la escalera, no cerrada, por la que hay que pasar para salir de las otras dos habitaciones y pasar al baño, por lo que en mi opinión no son 3 habitaciones. -Los colchones y las camas resultan un poco incómodos ya que son algo antiguos. También los sofás. - En la bañera se acumula agua mientras te duchas. Por el contrario, destacar como cosas buenas: - La cocina: totalmente equipada y muy nueva. - Información turística abundante. - Un prado muy bien conservado con mesa y barbacoa que con buen tiempo da mucho juego. - El detalle de bienvenida. - La amabilidad de la propietaria - Pueblo muy tranquilo junto al Rio Sella en medio de la naturaleza. - Muy bien ubicado para a la zona más bonita de asturias. - Bastante cerca de algunos lugarés de interés de cantabria.

Hola Rafa, Fue un placer ver que encontraste tiempo escribir una reseña sobre nuestra casa;especialmente cuando estamos todos muy ocupados, Sobre la descripcion de la casa, explica en la pagina web que la habitacion extra/tercera esta fuera de los demas y "es una zona de dormitorio separado (sofá-cama doble, con muebles de dormitorio propio)". Explique a Ana mientras estuvisteis que la tuberia tarda con el agua de la bañera por la tema de ser una casa antigua y rural con fontaneria DENTRO del siglo 21 pero FUERA en la calle del siglo 19. Un problema muy comun en casas rurales. Gracias por escribir algo sobre nosotros. Siempre agredecemos cuando nuestros clientes la hagan. Un saludo a todo el grupo de nuestra parte, Sara Aubrey

El Descanso Ideal!!

Recomiendo la casa por todos sus aspectos, desde la cálida bienvenida por parte de la familia Aubrey, como por su ubicación, la casa es preciosa, el entorno espectacular, Sara un encanto de persona que en todo lo que te puede ayudar, te ayuda...Todo precioso...cerca para visitar muchos lugares Covadonga, Suances, Santillana, todo tan lindo que volveremos a repetir y visitar a los Aubrey nuevamente.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche mit tollen Erlebnissen: Wanderung in den Picos, die Jungs waren süchtig nach der Vega Beach mit den phantastischen Wellen! Dinosaurierspuren gesehen ( Tipp von Sara) prähistorische Zeichnungen in der Tito Bustillo gesehen und im schönen Häuschen von Sara und Bill relaxed! Sara ist eine Spitzengastgeberin, wir haben uns mega wohlgefühlt, Das Haus ist im Stil schön eingerichtet, passend zur Umgebung. Alle Ziele sind gut erreichbar und die Lage traumhaft. Wir kommen gerne wieder

Peaceful setting in a pretty hamlet

We have just returned from a two week holiday at this delightful house nestled in the Asturian countryside. Sara and Bill are excellent hosts, even staying up to greet us when we arrived after midnight. They are really helpful and available, without being too ‘present’. Sara recommended a local restaurant, La Posada de Antrialgo, which caters for vegans and even booked the table for us. The 6 course meal was exceptional! There’s lots of information about the area in the house folder which proved really helpful too. The house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and very peaceful. We loved sitting in the garden listening to the birds and watching the very friendly robin who perches right next to you waiting for a few crumbs. We really enjoyed hiking in the Picos de Europa and also the closer peaks which you can tackle directly from La Rondita. Our favourite day was hiking to the Refugio Vega de Ario from the lakes at Covadonga (the road up to the lakes closes at 8am so if you want to avoid having to get the bus up be prepared for an early start). The views are spectacular. The Cares Gorge hike is also an excellent day out if you don’t suffer from vertigo! There is a great choice of quiet sandy beaches within a 30-40 minute drive, and don’t forget to visit the Bufones de Pría (blow holes) when the tide is in. The river Sella is only a 5 minute walk from the house and is a perfect place for swimming or you can hire kayaks from nearby Arriondas. We had a wonderful experience and have no hesitation recommending La Rondita. Thank you Sara & Bill for everything

A holiday in northern rural Spain

The house had everything we wanted and was very comfortable Sara was lovely and gave us lots of advice about shopping and the local area. She had prepared a folder with lots of things to do.

Wonderful holiday in the Asturias countryside...

We had a fantastic 7 days staying at La Ronda. The owner was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. There was loads of information about the area at the accommodation, most hand written, by the owner. Asturias (district) was super and offered lots of mountain activities, including walks and river swims, whilst still being close enough to the beach, for trips. Loved the local food, the cider! and the peace; This is a quite spot to stay. Stunning views... beautiful countryside... nice people. We will be back and hopefully saying at La Rondita again, one day!
