Property was great and very welcoming. Check in was easy, room updated and clean. Walking distance to beach, shoreline trail and lighthouse. It was a quick drive to downtown with lots of options for lunch and dinner. Pacific Grove was a great location for a drive to Carmel, Monterey and 17 Mile drive nearby.

The host was very kind and helpful! We looked at our initial room and felt that it was much smaller and not as nice as the pictures. He offered us a bigger room but it was still pretty dated and didnt look like photos online. We were going to ask for a refund since it was our first anniversary but he showed us a remodel room that was as nice as the photos for the same price. After the initial disappointment he went above and beyond to please us. With flowers, a bottle of wine and a fruit and cheese plate. We would stay here again if we could get the nicer room. Thank you for helping us make our special day what we hoped for.

Perfect location

Lovely, comfortable, clean room. The owner was very helpful. Short walk to the beach to see sunset. Easy access to 17 mile drive, Monterey, Big Sur, Carmel. Location was perfect!

Sunset Inn is fantastic!! The host was friendly, knowledgeable and genuine. He made sure we knew exactly what was available during our 4 night stay, right down to sunset and sunrise times, which is important because you're only a 5 minute walk to the coastline. The room was clean and comfortable and we loved the fireplace. The parking area looks small, but the spaces are generous enough we had no problem parking our full size truck. Housekeeping was friendly and attentive, as were the main staff (we had a light bulb go out and it was quickly replaced). We would definitely stay again!!!

Very nice experience. The hotel room was clean and the location was outstanding with a short walk to a wonderful path along the ocean and about a mile from downtown Pacific Grove with a good choice of restaurants and shops. The staff were very helpful. I would definitely come again at the price point.

Very high quality rooms. Excellent hospitality service. The view from our room was not like the photos in the ad, but we spent most of our trip outside the room anyway. Great location for walking or running the trail along the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was amazing and the staff was super friendly. The room was very clean and big. The bed was a little too stiff, but other than that everything was perfect.

Perfect get away

I can’t say enough good things about the Sunset Inn. It’s small, well kept, and cozy. With a jacuzzi tub and fireplace in some of the units, it’s absolutely perfect for couples looking for a get away. The staff are friendly and accommodating- 5 stars all around.

Weekend getaway

This was the 2nd year in a row that I stayed here. The front desk clerk was very respectful and accommodating. It was quiet and relaxing with a quick 5 min walk to the beach. The only downside is the renovation noise. While we were staying there for the reggae festival…it would have been nice to sleep in in the mornings without the sound of a leaf blower or some sort of hammering. All in all it was a pleasure staying here and will be back next year!
