An authentic log cabin on 7 acres with a small lake in the front yard. Sleeps 10 in beds (10 maximum capacity). More wildlife than imaginable. Every time of day brings out different animals and birds. Built for family gatherings and fun. Enjoy swimming in the lake. Enjoy feeding the fish (we do not allow fishing) as all fish have been hand raised and are pet like. We do provide fish food for your enjoyment (and theirs:). Enjoy local historical places, numerous wineries and breweries all within 10 miles. Ride the Katy Trail, and do some local shopping. Be sure to visit historical downtown Washington, which is one of the top ten historical districts in the US. Daniel Boone home and monument are close and worth visiting. Busch's wildlife conservation area has over 50 stocked lakes for fishing and other outdoor fun. All of these attractions are within 10 minutes of the cabin.

2nd Year in a Row! Outstanding Property!

Clean, in fact very clean. Well stocked with kitchenware, bath towels and pretty much anything else you need. The property owners are welcoming and available, if you should need them. This is our second year at the property for a group of 6 friends who used to camp outdoors in the winter. This place is warm and comfortable with nice views of the woods and lake.

Pretty sweet

Awesome cabin, lots of lady bugs. No fishing in the pond…we didn’t know that. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. The pond there and fishing in it was one of our reasons for booking the cabin but the owner doesn’t want anyone fishing in the pond. Only 1 trash bag was provided. Bit of an inconvenience but not a deal breaker. Plenty of room for big families or groups.Lighting is awful but overall, awesome cabin

Perfect log cabin on the pond

Great stay in a beautiful log cabin. Two wonderful porches to relax, eat and enjoy the view. Very spacious and clean. Our furry friends felt right at home too. The country setting is perfect for privacy and relaxation. Would stay again

Do your homework!

Horrible smell from the water. Excuse was Marthasville's water table and the host had nothing to do with it. It should have been disclosed in the description. I don't understand how this wasn't an issue for others that reviewed. It was almost unbearable. When confronted Tami said that they live nearby and also deal with it. I should not have to pay to "deal" with it. Ant traps and mouse traps throughout the cabin. In other reviews she replied back that it was a cabin and that should be expected. Even though it was winter there were flies and wasps throughout the cabin.TV is not a smart TV so if you do not have Direct TV you're only going to get about five local channels. The lighting is poor and her excuse to others is it's a cabin. There is plenty of room for more lamps (we moved one from the bedroom to the living room) and lots of lightbulbs to be replaced. No outdoor lighting other than one dinky porch light. Complete blackness otherwise. No visible smoke detectors on the first floor. No blankets anywhere in the place, expected to use the comforter that our dog kept sniffing the edges at the floor. No trash bags in kitchen, not even in the cans, no sharp kitchen knife-had to cut meat with a bread knife, barely any kitchen supplies (bring everything), no snow shovel (snowed 4"), two rolls of TP for nine nights, no dish liquid and on and on and on. Threshold in foyer was a hazard. Tami was very curt in her answers maybe even snarky. I can't wait to see response.

Annual Trip for Friends

Great experience with an annual get together of friends. Plenty of room. Great atmosphere. Large table for all of us to gather around. Beautiful surroundings. We’re likely to use again!

Weekend Getaway

The cabin was so cute! The fire pit was exactly what we wanted. The beds were a little more firm for my liking but to each their own! Everything was clean and the listing was exactly as expected. I could not find any extra blankets. So the next person that’s stays bring your own blankets! I would definitely recommend this cabin!

Great Place to Stay!

Cabin was very cozy and clean. Great communication with the property manager. My travel partner and I were there for an event nearby, and didn't take full advantage of the property had to offer. Could definitely see staying there with the family and having a great time. It was quiet and peaceful, and the catfish were cool.

Honeymoon

We had a great time staying at the cabin, it was a relaxing escape from reality. The place was very clean and cozy. We even got to see a family of deer.

yearly family outing

large cabin was laid out nice for family. furniture was top of the line. enjoyed the kayaks and firepit. enjoyed the lake and large property. planning on going again.

Great place for family gathering

Cozy home in a nice quiet setting. Beds very comfortable. I wish the outside seating was more comfortable. We spent time on the back porch because the weather was beautiful with a great view of the lake Would stay here again !

1st Cousin getaway

We take an annual 1st cousin girl trip every year for a few days. The cabin met all of our expectations. It was very roomy. Bedrooms were nice sized and the living area/kitchen was comfortable and plenty of room. The girls thought the place was awesome. I have posted our visit on facebook and have had several people wanting information on the property. Would stay there again,

Dark and gloomy

Poor lighting, dank smell, too many taxidermy animals, unlevel and weak flooring. The one thing we enjoyed was the view of the pond from the porch.

Family vacation

We had a good time but the overall feel was like a camp cabin that hasn’t been maintained along the way. The kitchen supplies were lacking compared to other cabins we’ve rented as a family. We had big black ants in the kitchen. The fire pit was disappointing. The seating was four rotten logs that were situated too close to the fire.

Fantastic Getaway

This was a great getaway cabin retreat. Lots of space and beautiful views. We spent a lot of time relaxing at the cabin. The house could use a thorough deep clean inside and outside but we loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

What an absolute gem! Close enough to town for supplies and the cabin was clean. Host was great to deal with. I would definitely go back.

Deceiving listing

Had to leave early! Pipe broke under house and had to turn water off. Couldn’t get a hold of host until next day. The lake isn’t a lake at all, it is a gross pond that no one can or would swim in. We booked our trip around being able to swim. Wasps everywhere and spider webs all over porches. Grass wasn’t cut either. We won’t be staying here again. Didn’t get even half of our refund back!

Great time away from most

Close enough to washington to get what was needed. Far enough away we saw few other people while relaxing for my bachloer party. Air Condtioners worked well keeping us mice and cool during the 90+ days. The warm water smells like sulfer but it wasnt too bad that an air fresner couldnt beat it. We had a terrific time.

Both involved in multiple business ventures, it was a gift to come home in the evening and unwind in this beautiful serene setting. It was like being miles from nowhere yet close to everything. We love the cabin so much we decided to share it with others. We live very close and take much pride in ownership. We hope you love it and care for it the same as we do.

Rebecca Lane is in the middle of nowhere, but actually close to everything. St. Louis is 45 minutes, Washington is 10 minutes, and downtown Marthasville which has practically everything you would need in 3 minutes. Why not this property????

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Only log cabin of its kind in this area. Built from 10" logs. Large and spacious, lake front, woods to wander in, firepit to have open fires for roasting hotdogs, smores and more, berries to pick, fish to feed, deer, fox, raccoons, herons, skunks, turtles, muskrats, hummingbirds and wild birds too numerous to name. A real outdoor paradise for nature lovers.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: THE FIREPLACE CANNOT BE USED.
IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE #2: The cabin has a lot of taxidermy animals. WE DID NOT KILL ANY OF THESE. They were victims of traffic accidents, purchased at auctions, or donated to us by conservationists. We thought this would be a great way for adults and children alike to see wildlife up close without ever feeling the need to harm a live animal. They are also unable to grow new hair so we ask that you do not handle or pet. If taxidermy animals bother you, the cabin is probably not a good fit. Thank you.
IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE #3. The cabin is on 7 wooded acres and there are bugs, bats, snakes, mice and more depending on the time of year. Please expect to encounter some or all of these forms of life. If you keep all food in cabinets or fridge, it will help minimize pesky situations.
