Great getaway

The house is incredible and the property is remote, quiet and visually pleasing. We used the pool every day. Being there in June was perfect timing with great weather - sunny yet breezy and cool.

Near a Coruña

Beautiful house, wonderful pool area, 30 mins drive to attractions minimum. We would stay here again, so relaxing and light even if it’s raining.

Amazing house in Galicia

We stayed at Oscar and Marija's lovely house for close to 4 weeks in July. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather in which to enjoy the beautiful countryside. The house was very comfortable and well appointed. The grounds were picturesque and the addition of the pool will be amazing once finished. Marija responded quickly to any queries and always happy to help. We hope to stay here again in the future.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful house! From the moment we arrived, everything met our expectations, the home was spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. The location was perfect: peaceful.The house is thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need (incl nice basketball board), and all the little details made us feel truly welcome. We especially loved relaxing on the terrace and enjoying the amazing pool.Communication with the host was fantastic — friendly, quick, and very helpful throughout. It really felt like they cared about making our stay special.We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Thank you for such a memorable holiday — we would love to come back!

Beautiful house in a great location to explore Galicia.

Everything was fantastic from the communication ahead of our stay, connecting with Leonor who helped us check in and out (even met us at the local church to escort us to the property and even took our trash and recycle upon departure), flexibility with our dates (thank you!), to the house, which is wonderful. It is modern, well designed, the garden and pool spaces are luxurious and this house was the perfect place to relax after walking from San Sebastián to Bilbao on the Camino de Santiago. Thank you Mari and Oscar!

Super for a family holiday!

We spend 10 days in this beautiful house in Galicia and we loved it. It was perfect for our family holiday. Quiet and private setting but close to the supermarket and the lively town Betanzos (nice cafes//terasses/large weekly market). Also a great location for exploring Galicia; easy drive to La Coruna, nice beaches/surf-spots, Santiago and numerous restaurants The house was very comfortable with al lot of space, a large kitchen and a modern/stylish design. We enjoyed the garden and the pool and we loved to come home after a day-trip. Contact with Marija for some queries was easy. Although the weather forecast was doubtful, we had a lot of blue sky and the temperature was perfect with warm/summer days and cool nights. We stayed only 10 days because we were traveling in Spain but next time we will stay longer. Both the house and Galicia are super for a summer holiday. Thanks a lot. Nicole (Netherlands)

As good as it gets

My stay at Casa Macenda has been the best vacation rental experience of my life, and I’ve been renting vacation homes for many years. The house is fabulous, a marvel of architecture, decorated with great style, and designed with a family’s comfort in mind down to the very last detail. The spaces are comfortable and functional, full of light, and always offer views of the stunning garden from anywhere in the house. The rooms are perfectly sized and very comfortable, as is the kitchen, which is fully equipped. And the workroom is an absolute dream.Outside, the pool is beautiful and a joy to use, with an adjacent lounge and dining area that we made the most of for sunset dinners. The garden is simply spectacular—huge, impeccably maintained, with perfect grass and trees that enhance the landscape just the right amount.And the hosts were fantastic—always attentive to our comfort, with smooth and flawless communication, and with people nearby ready to help with any detail.Without a doubt, we will be coming back. I recommend this house wholeheartedly for any stay in the area.

De turismo por Galicia desde un entorno rural.

Pasamos 9 días en la Casa de Oscar y Marija, que tengo que decir, que si bien no nos atendieron presencialmente, estuvieron pendientes de todas nuestras necesidades en todo momento. Además nos recomedaron una serie de sitios que visitar y de restauración que nos parecieron geniales. La casa está espectacular y el entorno natural nos permitía salir a paserar por los alrededores del Embalse de Cecebre directamente. Además la casa está muy cerca de la A-6 y de la AP-9 por lo que la comunicación con el resto de Galicia es bastante cómoda también. En general la casa, con su piscina y su jardín, nos encantaron. Todo perfecto. Repetiríamos. Muchas gracias a nuestros anfitriones por ponerla a nuestra disposición.

Magnífica estancia.

Hemos estado unos días a finales de Junio en esta casa, resultando una experiencia fantástica. La casa cumple totalmente las expectativas creadas al visitar la página de la casa y ver las fotos de la misma. Nosotros estuvimos la mayor parte del tiempo haciendo turismo por la provincia, por lo que no pudimos aprovechar completamente las oportunidades de descanso y relax que ofrece la casa. Los niños estaban deseando volver a la casa para jugar en el jardín y bañarse en la piscina. El trato de los dueños, muy amable, pendientes de que todo estuviera correctamente y no tuviéramos ningún problema, así como sus padres, que fueron los encargados de recibirnos y despedirnos. La única pega que podría poner es la distancia a A Coruña, pensaba que estaba algo más cerca, se tardan unos 30-35 min. en llegar, pero ese quizá fuera un problema de apreciación mío. Totalmente recomendable.

Hola a todos Hemos estado este fin de semana un grupito de amigos en la casa y quedamos encantados. La casa es preciosa, la finca y los alrededores muy muy bonitos. Leonor y Manuel encantadores. Sin duda volveremos a vernos. Recomendable 100%.

Una semana fantastica

Alquilamos la casa dos familias con niños para las navidades, todo fue estupendo. La casa super confortable, con hermosas vistas, un jardin inmenso (8000 mt) y mucha tranquilidad. La casa esta muy proxima de muchos sitios interesantes y cercana a la autopista. Nos encantaba dar todas las tardes un paseo por el bosque que esta pegoado a la casa y que tiene varios senderos y un rio. Nos entregaron las llaves Leonor y Manuel (encantadores) Les cuento que Manuel hace un licor riquisimo. La casa es mejor que lo que dicen las fotos.Una excelente estadia. Gustavo Cascón

Impresionante

Nosotros llevamos años haciendo turismo rural y hemos estado en casas muy bonitas pero esta es la casa por excelencia, la casa en la que nos gustaría vivir. El diseño, la decoración, la forma en que la luz entra por esos enormes ventanales,.... La combinación es perfecta, modernidad en medio de un entorno rural, con el embalse al lado por el que merece la pena darse un buen paseo.Ya solo la enorme finca de la propia casa rodeada de árboles, es un lujazo. Ademas esta equipadísima con todo lo nedesario y mucho mas, incluso la cocina. En cuanto a Leonor y Manuel , aunque estuvimos un ratito al llegar y al irnos ,nos resultaron encantadores y muy agradables.

La casa es una autentica pasada. No le falta detalle, todo nuevo, y muy bien cuidado. Las habitaciones, los baños son estupendos, la cocina es impresionante y el gran salon.... es de lujo. Para remate, la parcela que le rodea, ideal para disfrutar del aire libre sin salir de casa. No me puedo olvidar de Leonor y Manuel, adorables. Volveremos!!!!!!!!

de lo mejor en casas rurales

pasamos un fin de semana increible ,sobre todo los niños en su gran jardin muy cuidado,la casa tiene de todo,la zona tranquila,todo super limpio ,nuevo ,las camas comodas y los dueños de lo mejor .Os la recomiendo a todos

A very special place to stay

We had a beautiful stay here. The surrounding countryside is stunning and great for walks or cycles. The house is superbly equipped and very stylish and the host is very responsive and helpful.

Luxury home with lovely pool

We were a family of four persons and spent 13 nights in this home. The garden is huge and the pool is well-kept and chin-deep so you can really enjoy swimming. The house is modern, spacious and the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering. The shower is quickly warm. The garage can hold two cars. The location is easy to find if you follow the instructions. Initially we relied on the hired car's navigation system, which was a route to be avoided in future. Some of the recommended locations to visit are rather far away - you might prefer to spend a few days just enjoying the house and pool instead of burning fuel. The local supermarkets in Betanzos had everything we required. Just to cover a few minor negative points... TV reception is limited to Spanish channels. The house lacks WiFi though you can rent a mobile Internet device in Betanzos if needed. I found the mattresses in the two bedrooms downstairs somewhat short for adults. The freezer and the oven in the kitchen are rather old but still functional. However all-in-all these do not affect the overall rating. We all felt relaxed in this wonderful modern home, especially on hot days with the pool to enjoy. Both Oscar and Marija were extremely helpful, not to mention his parents also. Everything worked out perfectly and we saw some of the highlights: Santiago de Compostela (tip: visit in the late afternoon and you won't have to wait 1 hour to enter the cathedral as there are no queues, besides the sun now shines on the cathedral front), La Coruña, the northern coastline, Fisterra, Sanxenxo. Be aware that neither Google Maps (nor the hired car's SatNav) are aware that the AG-55 motorway now extends much further in the direction of Fisterra. Our thanks for letting us use your home and discover Galicia!

Schönes Haus inmitten der Natur.

Haben dieses Haus im Juli 2018 als Familie mit drei Kindern gebucht. Das Haus liegt sehr idyllisch am Waldrand, ist großzügig geschnitten und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Erwähnenswert ist auch der große, perfekt gepflegte Garten mit Pool. Für Ruhe und Erholung ist gesorgt. Wir haben es sehr genossen.

Great Spot!

Our only regret is we wished we had more time there. The home is welcoming and inviting. We enjoyed the kitchen, the open space, kicked the soccer ball around a nice yard. Great country setting. We would recommend this property. The property managers we very nice and helpful.
