South 40 Lodge: Central Ks Lodging With Amazing Views & Sounds Of The Country

Located just 10 miles east of Salina, Ks on 40 acres in tranquil setting of eastern Saline Co. Lodge has king size master suite with fireplace & sat TV, queen size bedroom and one full size bunkbed (2 full size mattresses) plus 2 full baths. Spacious kitchen with all appliances and bar that seats 4, plus huge dining/meeting table that seats 10, adjacent to a comfortable living area with fireplace, 75" sat TV and complimentary WiFi. Perfect for a business or small group retreat, family reunion, or just to get away vs commercial lodging. Enjoy the scenic views from the walking path around the 40 acres of native grass, or relax and watch the sunset from the rocking chairs on the large porch. Lots of room to roam and a dog kennel is available on the property. Be sure to check out the video for an aerial view of the property and the amazing views of the South 40 Lodge! Now there is the option to rent on the property an existing 30x40 enclosed insulated shed for small birthday, graduation, reunion or wedding parties. Tables and chairs provided. Contact me for more details.

Great payed back stay

The location is out in the country which is what we were looking for. The house is large enough for us to all have our own space but also be able to congregate with space. We loved our stay.

Perfect property

We were all so pleased with this property. Upon arrival the home was sparkling clean and smelled amazing too. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the big kitchen & living room. The den was an extra surprise along with the pool table in the garage. It was perfect!

We have absolutely no complaints. The property was very clean and comfortable and the host was very hospitable and ensured all of our needs were met upon arrival. I highly recommend this property and we will definitely be returning eventually.

First Family Reunion

Fantastic property, beautiful house, great views at night to just sit and look at the stars or to watch the country side. Has a great walking path around the property the owner was great easy to work with. It had everything that was needed for a family reunion, to me it was the perfect house to see how peaceful and beautiful kansas can be.

Amazing property in the most serene setting

I can’t say enough what an amazing find this house was. We wanted ti break up our drive between Missouri and Colorado and decided to rent this house instead of a roadside hotel. It was like hitting the jackpot. The house was incredibly spacious, spotless, every comfort you could need. The beds were really comfortable. The owner took such care even adding small touches to make the home feel special, by leaving snacks, local information. And the location was so serene. Just waking up and looking out across the property made you feel immediately restful. We stay here twice during our cross county road trip and my only regret was that I didn’t realize how lovely it would be and only planned it as an overnight stop, I can imagine how nice it would be for a longer stay to take in the beauty of the area and relaxing in this quiet setting.

Amazing house, beautiful surroundings

We stayed here overnight for a stop between Missouri and Colorado. What a find! The house was amazing. Huge, exceptionally clean, and the surroundings were so peaceful. It was perfect for our overnight stay but would be a really relaxing place for a longer stay, the perfect place to get away. I can imagine how pretty it would be with the changing seasons. The owner was very responsive and the house lacked no comfort. The internet was blazing fast too, which you might not expect to find! We plan to be back on our return drive. This place really is a gem!

Blissful Solitude

I've stayed at South 40 Lodge several times and it's always an excellent experience! Property is only a short drive (15 mins) from anything you may need but located in the most gorgeous isolated spot where the only sound is nature. House is spacious, well equipped and super clean. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience an awesome view, sunsets and night sky.

What a wonderful place

We stayed 4 weeks at the south 40 lodge. It's such a beautiful place in the country side of Kansas. The yard and the view from the porch are amazing and we enjoyed every minute.

All the sights and sounds of country living

We drove to Kansas to experience life in the heart of America. We were a little surprised by the dirt roads but enjoyed seeing sunrise to sunset on the hill at South 40 Lodge. It was super clean, super roomy and Ritchie left plenty of items to ensure we were ready to enjoy our visit upon arrival. While there we visited the Eisenhower Library, Saline and Little Sweden and found great BBQ closer to Kansas City for a day trip. We were happy to bring our truck since the rural roads would have been difficult to maneuver without it and its snow tires. Best of all we hearing the cows, coyotes and birds from afar and seeing the wheat grow in front of our eyes. Really enjoyed our stay and Ritchie’s hospitality. Would have loved to learn more about farming at that scale.

Perfection...

The Sister retreat we had at this beautiful VRB0 was perfect. Well stocked kitchen and the whole home was well planned and meticulously clean. We loved the Flint Hills View and the quietness of the surroundings. Can’t wait to come again.

Outdoor Wedding

This place was absolutely perfect! Everything we wanted plus more. Anything we could have needed was supplied and the hose was absolutely amazing! We definitely plan on renting this home out again. The house was clean everything was very easy to find. Plus I loved the games and cards tucked away😊 Couldn’t have had a better place for my little country side wedding

We are a 4th generation farm with family values. We raise wheat, corn, milo, soybeans & alfalfa and in our spare time enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Hunting, lake activities and sports fills up most of our time away from our farm duties. This property is located just a 1/4 mile from our farm so we are close to be able to care for our guests in anything that arises.
