We absolutely loved this house, it was a home away from home. We traveled with our three young boys (ages 10, 7, & 5), it was a perfect spot. We walked to the beach almost daily, about 15ish minute walk and helped get their wiggles out. The park and grocer was a short walk as well. The host was fabulous, he called me a few times to even share any tips or answer any questions before the arrival. The neighborhood is quiet and felt like many locals around who were all really nice! Would highly recommend, we will be coming back 100%

Delightful

Our stay could not have been better! The house was very nice. The host was kind and would get back to me promptly when I had questions. We were pleased to find water, sodas, pastries and wine to start us off on a memorable stay. The location was perfect, just a short walk into town. Everything was beautiful! !!

Amazing

Impossible to say how much we enjoyed our stay. We were there for a month and immediately felt right at home. If you're considering it's, just stay here. You won't regret it.

Cascais - a little Portuguese jewel

Great location. 15-20 min walk to the beach. Beautiful beaches!! Easy train ride into Lisbon and back. Amazing restaurants. House was excellent for two couples; beds comfortable, lots of room, nice patio area for the evenings and early mornings. Great spot. Excellent communication with owner. Provided lots of help.

A great holiday in Cascais, Portugal

The owner was readily accessible prior to arrival and during our stay. He has a most pleasant, helpful manner. On our arrival the property was imaculately clean and well equipped. The property is well situated for access to the bustling town centre and excellent beaches mainly on a well maintained path along a valley. This walk takes about 15 mintes ( My age is 83 ). Al in all avery good holiday!!

Casa dos Sonhos

The property was perfect for us in facilities and location. The only thing we would say is maybe it’s getting ready for a little internal redecoration. But maybe that’s just us. It certainly wouldn’t stop us booking Casa dos Sonhos again if we were to return to Cascais. Mauricio was an excellent host. Communication was great and when we informed him of a problem with the safety gate he was round the same evening with a brand new one.

We loved our stay at Casa dos Sonhos

The entire process, from booking, check in, to check out, couldn't have been any easier. Mauricio was in touch throughout, answering my questions, giving tips, and even sending a great list of emergency #'s, locations, and restaurants in Cascais. I really loved the ease of entering and exiting the house by KEVO app. The location was near a wonderful market where we bought a few staples...wine, cheese, awesome breads, fresh orange juice and fruit for the house upon check-in. We loved the back patio - flowers were blooming and it was lovely to sit with a glass of wine and charcuterie tray and enjoy the nice April evenings. Our stay was the best and when we go back to Cascais, will definitely stay at Casa dos Sonhos. Thank you, Mauricio!!

This was my favorite VRBO to date. Mauricio was such a gracious host, very communicative, organized, friendly, and full of information and suggestions about Cascais and the extended area. The house was spacious, comfortable, well-appointed, and beautiful. We especially loved the patio for coffee, relaxing and meals when we had downtime. We had 2 couples staying here, and we were very comfortable.The walking trail into the City Center is right around the corner, as well as a well stocked grocery, and an amazing Pizza restaurant - Lusitania (ask for Anna Lucia). There are also 2 Japanese restaurants in the neighborhood. We tried them both and all agreed Fuku Sun was by far the best! Mauricio sent out some great info prior to our arrival, with some great suggestions. Our favorite restaurant on the list was Jardim dos Frangos. We went twice, loved the food, good value and late night availability. They only accept cash, tho, so be prepared. Also, if you are here Wednesday or Saturday, visiting the Mercado da Vila is a must visit, and is located right at the bottom of the walking trail.Practical info about the house - water pressure and hot water, air conditioning, & WiFi were all wonderful. There is street parking, which was always available , however, it is more crowded late at night.
Great Pizza around the corner!
Casa da Guia - pretty view & Sunset spot. A little pricey, tho

Encantadora

Es una casa típicamente portuguesa, muy cuidada y limpia. Hemos disfrutado mucho del patio exterior, y el wifi y la TV con netflix. La cocina muy bien equipada y Mauricio hasta nos puso una batidora para nuestros gazpachos y smoothies. Siempre disponible en wassap para cualquier duda. El supermercado Lidl a 5 mn andando y 15 mn a pie al centro de Cascais, un paseo muy agradable. Por poner un pero, con lavavajillas sería perfecta. Muy recomendable relación calidad/ precio. Volveremos!

Familia con niños

La casa es grande, y está muy bien comunicada para poder visitar desde allí las principales atracciones que ofrece Lisboa estando en un lugar tranquilo. Todo muy limpio y nuevo, Mauricio muy atento. Por poner un pero, los barrotes de las escaleras son muy anchos, nostros íbamos con una niña pequeña y había cierto riesgo. Por lo demás todo me pareció muy bien. Gracias,

Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt in Mauricios Haus. Es war ganz liebevoll eingerichtet und es fehlte uns an nichts. Sogar ein Milchaufschäumer, eine elektrische Zitruspresse oder ein Glätteisen waren vorhanden. Bei Ankunft erwarteten uns kalte Getränke und Pasteis. Es war sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Kommunikation mit Mauricio war sehr freundlich und schnell. Die längere Anfahrt zum traumhaften ( windigen) Strand „Guincho“ ist kein Problem, da Uber fahren preislich wirklich ok ist.

Excellent property for a great holiday

Excellent property. very well located and well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Set in a peaceful residential area with shops and restaurants close by., also a five minute walk to a large supermarket. Mauricio the host was very attentive from first enquiries and all through the booking process. We would gladly return.

Séjour très agréable

La maison est située dans un quartier calme, à 20 minutes minimum à pied du centre de Cascais ou de la gare. Elle est aménagée avec beaucoup de goût, très cosy. Elle est très bien équipée (matériel de plage, fournitures de salle de bain, cuisine bien outillée). Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la climatisation (uniquement dans 2 chambres sur 3) et la cour avec son coin salon et la table à manger. Pour finir, nous avons beaucoup aimé l’accueil de Mauricio, très discret et prévenant, agréable et disponible. Une très belle surprise, nous recommandons vivement cette location.

Une belle maison bien équipée et très bien pensée

Nous étions 2 couples d'amis qui avions loué cette maison pour visiter Lisbonne tout en profitant d'une station balnéaire vivante. Les deux chambres avec lits doubles ainsi que les deux salles d'eau nous ont permis de préserver l'intimité de chaque couple. Le séjour / cuisine donnant sur une belle terrasse fleurie était l'occasion de partager des moments conviviaux. Tout est pensée dans cette maison décorée avec goût pour que vous vous sentiez comme chez vous. Le seul bémol est l'absence de four micro-onde. La maison est un peu excentrée ce qui nécessite soit d'avoir un véhicule soit d'utiliser le bus qui se trouve quelques rues plus loin pour se rendre dans le centre de Cascais ou à la plage. Le quartier ou se trouve la maison est très calme. Nous n'avons absolument pas regretté d'avoir choisi cette location qui répondait pleinement à nos attentes. Mauricio, le propriétaire de la maison, a toujours été prompt à répondre à nos questions tant avant notre arrivée que durant notre séjour. Nous ne pouvons que le remercier pour cette semaine parfaite.

Mooi huis, maar onbetrouwbare gastheer

Mauricio zijn huis is goed ingericht. Er is voldoende plaats en het nodige materiaal is aanwezig. Het huis ligt vrij ver van het strand en het centrum. Te voet met kinderen is het snel een half uur wandelen en het gaat soms stevig bergop. Mauricio is bereikbaar via whatsapp, maar we hebben hem nooit gezien. Het huis was net, maar we ontdekten al snel dat er veel mieren in het huis waren. We hebben dit gemeld aan Mauricio. Zijn antwoord was dat de poetsvrouw niets gezegd had van mieren. We hebben toen zelf een spuitbuis in de supermarkt in de buurt op eigen kosten moeten kopen om de mieren te bestrijden. Tijdens het afwassen was er barst in een wijnglas en hebben dit onmiddellijk gemeld aan Mauricio. Hij rekent dit aan, dus wees heel voorzichtig. Een goeie raad die ik nieuwe gasten wil geven is dat jullie bij aankomst het volledige huis van Mauricio testen. En als er bepaalde zaken niet goed werken dit zeker te fotograferen of te filmen. Wij hebben dit jammergenoeg niet gedaan. We hebben na een tijdje geconstateerd dat het toilet boven niet goed werkte. Aangezien er een goed werkend toilet beneden was, hebben we dit niet gemeld aan Mauricio. Wat we dus beter wel hadden gedaan, want de dag na onze thuiskomst kreeg ik zonder melding van Mauricio een bericht via VRBO met een bericht om extra te betalen voor het toilet boven. We werden er van beschuldigd dat het toilet volledig verstopt was omdat we doekjes in het toilet hadden gegooid. We gebruiken nooit doekjes en hebben alleen het toiletpapier gebruikt die Mauricio voorzien had in zijn huis. Omdat de toilet niet goed werkte van in het begin hebben we die toilet zelden gebruikt. We hebben altijd met heel veel zorg het huis van Mauricio gebruikt. De kussens van buiten binnen gelegd wanneer regen voorspeld werd, onmiddellijk gemeld dat we een glas gebroken hadden, alles netjes achtergelaten. En dan is het heel zuur om beschuldigd te worden van iets wat we niet gedaan hebben en hiervoor te moeten betalen. Het huis is goed ingericht, maar Mauricio is dus niet betrouwbaar.

I am very sorry Sigrid you had this bad experience at my place on your vacation. I’ve had in the past an ant situation because the guest left food on top of the counter. After talking to my guest the where then careful not to leave any opened items any longer. Sigrid I am always on top of things and available 24/7. I also check on my guest when they arrive, during and before they leave to see if all is ok. The day you checked in we spoke and during your stay we spoke again and you never mentioned anything about the master bathroom where you slept been clogged and came to find out after your departure and when my cleaning lady went to clean the house. I had to get professional assistance because my cleaning lady could not un-clog it. I’m truly sorry this happened and you feel this way. Best regards, Mauricio

Great home in Cascais

We stayed here for 3 nights during our trip to Portugal and it was a great spot. All 3 bedroom are upstairs which was great so our young kids could be close. Our family of 5 was very comfortable here. There is a grocery store that is about a 3 minute walk and after grabbing a few things, we were able to cook several meals in the well stocked kitchen. There is also a nice private courtyard out back where you could sit and enjoy a cool evening or cup of coffee in the morning. We were there in January and it was a little too cold for that but in the spring and summer it would be great. The check-in process was very smooth, with Mauricio sending a virtual key to my phone via a particular app that allowed us quick access when we arrived. He also sent a guide to the area with recommendations on food, shopping, rental cars, and so much more. Also, it was definitely a pleasant surprise to have wifi that was as fast as advertised. In our experience "high speed internet" doesn't mean the same thing in some places as it does where we're from, but 500 mb/s was great. Thanks again Mauricio for a great stay.

Reservei para realizar um evento... NÃO O FAÇAM!

Apesar da moradia ser excecional, bem decorada e equipada, é a única informação que coincide com o site. Desde cedo informei o Sr. Maurício de que seriam mais de 6 pessoas no evento, no entanto, só quando estou a fazer o check-out é que recebo uma chamada do proprietário a informar que teria de pagar mais, quando nunca se falou nesses valores extra, até porque alugar a casa para 1 ou 6 pessoas é o mesmo preço. No término desta chamada, o proprietário não hesitou em retirar de imediato o valor da caução, quando a casa foi deixada impecável. O mais incrível é o proprietário ligar-me, assim que fecho a porta, para me informar de que tinha acabado de ver pela câmara que tem no exterior da casa, o número de pessoas que tinham saído e como... Porque a câmara para além da entrada da casa deve filmar a via pública. Informação que também não se encontra no site, mas sim, existe essa câmara. Outra informação que não corresponde à verdade ou pelo menos é enganosa, é a permissão de festas e eventos. A moradia é geminada e está localizada numa zona residencial, que penso que o proprietário tem noção porque me pediu várias vezes, antes de ir para a casa, que tivesse atenção ao barulho. Ora, para mim, que tive o cuidado de escolher uma moradia que permitisse a realização de eventos para estar à vontade com todas estas questões, senti-me enganada. No geral foi uma má experiência para um espaço que tem como finalidade a realização de eventos. Acho que o proprietário agiu mal e contribuiu para esta má experiência. Não aconselho o aluguer deste imóvel, ainda para mais se for para a realização de uma festa ou evento.

I am sorry Raquel had a bad experience at my place. I do need to clarify a few things that Raquel did not mention on her review. I did speak to her a day before her arrival and she did tell me that about 15/16 people would be in the house to celebrate a birthday party. Raquel did promise me that after the party was over only 6 guest would spend the night. The following day a total of 15/16 people left the house when the house is only equipped to sleep 6. I called her when she checked out and asked why she didn't keep her promise. She couldn't explain why ... I used the deposit for the 10 additional guest spending the night. Raquel did take care of the house and everything was intact after she checked out.

An Excellent Rental

This house, a lovely mix of traditional and modern, proved a comfortable base for our two weeks in Cascais. The two of us especially enjoyed its outdoor space, its English TV channels and reliable wifi, its two bathrooms and its well-equipped, bright kitchen.

An excellently presented property supported by a very attentive owner. Close to a supermarket and a good transport system. Able to travel to all the places of interest.

Voyage en famille

Mauricio a été un hôte extraordinaire. Il a été en mesure de répondre à tous nos besoins comme nous voyageons avec un bébé de 5 mois. Bien que la demeure soit situé à 25 minutes de marche de la plage et de la majorité des restaurants, il est possible de trouvé tout ce qu’il faut pour cuisiner au marché qui se trouve à proximité de la maison. Nous recommandons cet hébergement à tous.

This property is very comfortable, cosy, clean and has all the amenities you could want. Excellent location. Mauricio is an excellent host, always in communication with you to see if you need anything. We definitely recommend this perfect property.

Très bon séjour.

Maison bien équipée, bien décorée et très propre dans un quartier résidentiel calme. Très bien située pour découvrir la région de Cascais et Sintra (voiture conseillée) et visiter Lisbonne (gare à 1.5km et ligne directe). Mauricio, notre hôte est très sympa, fiable et attentionné. Un très bon séjour!

Home away from home

We stayed at Casa dos Sonhos from 22nd – 31st Dec 2018. We are a family of five, mum, dad and three grown up children from the UK. The property is very comfortable with enough rooms for all of us to have our space. We travelled to Cascais to celebrate Christmas. We were welcomed to the most beautiful Christmas decorations at the property when we arrived. The Casa dos Sonhos neighbourhood is very quiet within easy reach from the main train station. At night, Cascais lights up with plenty of eateries within walking distance to choose from. This is our third time of staying at Casa dos Sonhos. We love staying at Casa dos Sonhos so much that we kept coming back. We consider Casa dos Sonhos a home away from home because of the comfort that it provides – it is always in an immaculate condition. In terms of the accommodation, Casa dos Sonhos has all the essential facilities, toiletries, linens, plates, pans etc. The kitchen is well stocked as we were able to prepare our meals with ease. There is excellent entertainment provided via the TV at Casa dos Sonhos. There is superfast speed internet and Netflix which provided a variety of channels and programs to choose from. Staying at Casa dos Sonhos provided easy access to places of interest for sightseeing – it is only 45 mins by train from Lisbon. We were able to catch buses from bus stop that is 5 minutes’ walk from the property to Sintra where we visited museums. Mauricio, is an excellent host that stayed in touch with us right from when we made our booking. In addition, he keep in contact with us from when we landed at the airport until we got into the house. We also appreciate the care of Graca. She attended with exquisite delicious Portuguese treats on Christmas Eve. She also advised us on places to visit. We will definitely recommend a stay at this accommodation
