EVERYTHING IN TOWN AT YOUR FINGERTIPS!
5 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 1 full kitchen, 1 kitchenette with bar sink, 1 office/storage bedroomroom house just minutes walking distance to all restaurants, sports bars, shops and beautiful beaches in the heart of kona! Just up a hill in a quiet neighborhood with no traffic noise in a very peaceful area yet close to town! A perfect spot!
A spacious 2500 sq. ft. two story house. On top, a lookout patio with stairway and downstairs a covered patio with bbq.
Access to washer and dryer. Private parking on premises. A four burner webber barbecue. Trash and recycle area.
Combination key pad to enter the house, often we may check our guests in personally with our manager when available. If there is anything that our guests need, if there are any problems or malfunctions, he is just a phone call away to resolve the problem. AC available in the living room area on both levels during the summer months. AC turned off for the winter months unless arranged.
Our neighborhood is away from the main highway, up a little hill in a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood. All the neighbors are very quiet and respectful to everyone. Tall banyan and ficus trees give a private feeling.
Public transportation is offered just down the street at the local bus stop about 5 minutes walking distance. Rental vehicles available for rent at the Kona airport by reservation. Rentals also available for Keiki (baby/infint/child) i.e. strollers, pack n play, cribs, car seats etc.

Kona House

The property was great and the host was very nice. She provided some Christmas decorations and we had fun decorating. Hawaii is very beautiful and the house was in a good location. Loved it. We all had a great time.

Friends' vacation

We had plenty of private and communal space to rest and hang out with each other. We like being so close to town, so we don't always have to drive each time we went out.

Great house

We were a group of 10 and this house was great for us. We had plenty of room for everyone and it was close to shopping, beaches and a beautiful view. We would definitely recommend this house

Great family Getaway

We had a great stay in Kona- 3 families (6 adults) with kids from 18 months to 10. The location was very convenient to everything and the host was very responsive to any questions we had.

Great Place to Stay with the whole family.

Our stay was great. It was frustrating at the start to not have an address. Once we got there, the accommodations worked great for our whole family.

Hillside home

This property was perfect for us, our adult children & our grandchildren. We walked down to the pier each of the evenings that we were in Kona to view the beautiful sunsets. There was a grocery store just a few blocks away & restaurants downtown.

Kona Getaway

We had a great time at the Downtown Gem. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and main street in Kona. The area around the unit is a little run down but the house itself is great. Perfect for a large group.

Perfect for the whole family

Huge house with room enough for our entire extended family (7 adults and 3 kids). The upstairs living room was very airy and comfortable. Lots of room for people to spread out and not be on top of each other in between excursions. Very close to downtown.

A lot of rooms and bathrooms :)

This house was perfect for me and my family. We are from Hilo, and were in Kona for my daughters wedding. There was enough bedrooms for all of us and we appreciated having 4 bathrooms. The house was very clean when we checked in :)

Great Stay

Perfect home for our family of 10. Great location-10-15 min walk to restaurants, shopping and the ocean. Beach towels, beach toys and coolers are provided. The kids loved the boogie boards! Quiet neighborhood. We would definitely book this home again.

Awesome stay

Property was listed as a 5 bedroom with only 4 pictures of the bedrooms which worried me at first as we had 6 individual parties. But to my relief and surprise the unit had 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. Everything is located nearby. I would stay again if i plan another golf trip to kona.

Family vacation

We had a great time. It was very hot but coolers and fans helped. Coqui frogs were annoying but not property owners fault. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and two cooking areas. Would have liked more outdoor space. W/D were very nice and adequate. Ours was a family get together with family from Europe. Central location helped as we toured from Hawi to South Point to Volcanos to Hilo to Konaha.

Fit our entire family!

We took our family to Hawaii as a celebration and there was plenty of room for all of us. We each had our own bedrooms, and the bathrooms were plentiful. It was nice to have a washer and dryer on the premises. As other reviewers have said, it didn't have central air. Very few homes on the island seemed to have it. There were fans in each room which helped at night. We did see a bug or two in the house, but there were hundreds outside, so that didn't surprise us. It was a great location for groceries, restaurants by the pier, and even a pharmacy when we needed it. It was easy to get to our snorkeling and manta ray excursion. We had two rental cars and we were able to park both of them in the driveway. There were beach supplies that we borrowed. We really appreciated the coolers so we could pack a lunch and take it the day we needed it. Overall, it was a great location and great house that provided us with the ability to be with our family, yet have private rooms in case we needed some time away from our family.

Almost everything was great

The house was great. We all enjoyed our 3-night stay. The one complaint is that the travel crib (in the listing) was broken. We rented the house in part because we were travelling with a 2-year-old and the listing said there is a travel crib. With no travel crib, we would not have rented the house. When we found the crib, the mattress was missing and the frame was broken on two sides. It was unusable. We contacted Jeri immediately and she gave us the name of a place that would deliver one the next day.....if we wanted to rent one. She flatly refused to pay for the rental. I don't blame her for having a broken crib; perhaps the last renter broke it. However, I expect the host to provide what is promised.

Big House, Great Location, but Infested with Bed Bugs

My family and I initially enjoyed the first few days of our stay, until we found bed bugs in one of the rooms. The house is big, two levels, and conveniently located in Kona (close to the beach, shops, markets). However, finding bed bugs crawling on our pillows and mattress in the middle of the night spoiled our vacation. We moved (family of 12) out of the property to a hotel immediately in the middle of the night, spent hours washing our clothes and luggage the next day, and continually endured significant stress with the fear of taking them back to our home and itchy bed bug bites appearing days after our stay. This was not remotely close to the ideal, stress-free vacation my family and I envisioned. I contacted VRBO and customer service attempted to call the owner three times, but there was no answer so VRBO made arrangements for us. VRBO was extremely accommodating and understanding, booking six hotel rooms for my whole family in the middle of the night. I offered picture evidence of finding active bed bugs and blood stains on our sheets. The property manager called in an exterminator and as he was evaluating the affected room on the second level, I even found a bed bug in the bathroom sink and the exterminator confirmed. The property manager offered to close out the second level and set half of us up in another house behind the rental property, but we did not feel comfortable staying further in a place with bed bugs. The owner provided a partial refund (2 nights), although I requested for a full refund for the tremendous stress and inconvenience endured during the last two days of our vacation and the aftermath with the fear of carrying bed bugs back home (checking our beds every day to make sure we didn't carry any bed bugs with us) and the emergence of bed bug bites several days after our stay. As of now, I am still working with VRBO and the owners on my request for a full refund. Before staying at this property, I recommend asking for documented proof that the infestation of bed bugs was taken care of.

Sept vacation

We love staying at this property, it’s clean, very comfortable, the decor is well thought out and tropical. The kitchens are clean and well-stocked for groups that love to cook and grill. The A/C units made it very comfortable during the day. We are repeat visitors, and will come back tiny phone

Originally from Southern California, both Jeri and Steve met here on the Big Island in the early seventies. Married since 1979, and have a son named Chris. Our love for the ocean and island life has kept us here ever since. Come and enjoy a relaxing getaway.

We love the location close to town, where the beach is just a few minutes walking distance. Shops and restaurants are endless fun, and the Farmer's Market provides local fruits and vegetables, flowers, and local gift shopping.

The view from the upper floor is beautiful, with the blue water sunsets, and with a classic view of the mountainside as well. The covered downstairs patio is a place to be outside with privacy. It is a nice cool, quiet, hilltop compound, where you can relax. The driveway is lined with banana trees fresh to pick from. The neighborhood is very quiet with lots of shade. It is a very unique place, which made us fall in love with it!!
