Thats so interesting what you say about getting on fine without being fluent in French. We’ve also noticed in recent years too how much easier it is to get by without fluent French in the area. I am learning French myself and find that when I try my rusty French these days the locals tend to reply in English, especially the younger generation who seem keen to be bi-lingual and enjoy practicing their English!

I agree Fayence is a fascinating village, quite the view from the top, and for a small place a lot going on - in the summer there is usually something happening in the square and at the open open air theatre, there are lots of authentic restaurants and markets and an annual antiques festival.

Good to hear the pizzeria was a hit, there is a lot of Italian influence in the area. The village bakery is also under new ownership, I think the croissants are excellent there, it’s a local pastime to source the best. Thank you so much for your review, we like the design of the villa too, thanks for saying so and we appreciate the feedback about the pool and surrounding area. Its good to know what is important to guests so we can prioritise where we invest, its a growing challenge in the dry weather and with the water shortages but we will find a way to make improvements for next season. Sorry the village was closed for half your holiday, it does get quieter there later in the season. We come out in October half term when the weather is often really nice and there are some very good restaurants still open. Would love to have you back again anytime. We aim to keep our pricing flexible to match the popularity of different weeks in the season.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. So glad you enjoyed the holiday and property and the area. We would love to host you again. We work hard to keep the villa as a home from home for our guests. Although we have 5 bedrooms we limit the rooms rented to 3 (6 people) so there is plenty of room in and around the villa for everyone to relax. We spend 2 weeks every April and October working at the villa to ensure it is well maintained and equipped and we are always available to help with questions from guests before and during their stay.

We spend a lot of time there ourselves and work hard to make the villa a home from home. We also spend most of our time by the pool and have the same pleasant dilemma trying to choose what to do from so many options. Sounds like you chose well.

The surrounding region is beautiful, near Fayence. Stéphane gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the house. The house is superb, spacious, clean, and tastefully furnished. The air conditioning in the bedrooms and living room is a real bonus in the summer. The kitchen is well-equipped; nothing was missing! Large American-style refrigerator, barbecue… The outside is very pleasant with a stunning, exceptionally large swimming pool. There's a lovely, well-furnished pergola for relaxing. The scenery is very pleasant and peaceful. The property is fenced, which our dog appreciated. We had a very enjoyable stay and would love to return!”

The house was very clean and the interior very tasteful. There were also many amenities that made the time there very pleasant for us: plenty of space in the cupboards, fly nets, laundry baskets in all rooms, extra pillows and blankets and toys for the children. It is really everything available and especially plates, glasses, cutlery etc. are numerous there. Our highlight, however, was the pool! It is definitely the best pool we know so far. It is really big and deep, very clean and had a perfect temperature. Simply wonderful! Also the terrace with a view of the trees and the mountains was fantastic. We can recommend this house 100%!
