We were really looking forward to staying in this property in a place we know and love. It surpassed our expectations It was so clean and welcoming. It’s a stunning place to stay with spectacular views. The hosts were wonderful. They communicated well and were there really quickly when we had needed anything. Beautiful cottage close to the centre of Fowey. Ali was so helpful and accommodating for us. The view from the cottage is amazing, and the beds very comfortable! Will return!

Brilliant stay

Great little cottage in a great location, very clean and everything we needed. Short walk to the town and beach, we had a lovely time and Ali was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again.

The cottage was superb with a phantastic view and very close to the centre and port of Fowey. We had a lovely holiday, thanks a lot to our wonderful host!

Lovely seaside themed cottage with amazing views and garden. Great outdoor seating on patio where we ate breakfast everyday. Lots of walks, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep

Perfect cottage for a relaxing break with views to die for

Fantastic comfortable well thought out cottage with everything you need for a great break. The garden is beautiful and the views are fantastic. The owners are also very friendly and thoughtful and all the communication was spot on. Hope to return.

Everything was as per the advert and communication was faultless. A complimentary pack of sachets of coffee, sugar and a few tea bags for that initial drink on arrival or first morning before shopping would be a positive addition.

My stay couldn’t have been more perfect. Huge thanks to Ali for being such a considerate host. The cottage is so clean, light and airy. The bed is unbelievably comfortable, there’s loads of hanging space and a chest of drawers. The shower is amazing and the kitchen has everything you need. The view from the back is so special. There are three different seating areas in the beautiful garden to make the most of it. And Ali makes sure you can recycle everything, which is an added bonus!

Exceeded our expectations in every way. The photos do not fully convey the stunning view. Grocery, restaurants, pubs and shops all within a 5 minute walk. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is very clean, tasefully decorated and the view is amazing.The location is very good.We had a very uncomplicated and heartfelted contact with Alison and Pete. They are just lovley, caring and very helpful.Our first but not last visit to Fowey!

Fantastic cottage

As soon as we arrived at Smugglers Cottage we knew we were going to have a fantastic week. The cottage has everything you need, the beds are comfortable and the views are incredible. Fowey has lots to offer, great pubs and restaurants, our favourites the Ship Inn, Havener’s and Bufala. The ice cream at Rubys was also a favourite of ours. We definitely want to come back again.

Lovely week in Cornish cottage

Comfortable cottage. Excellent view over the estuary and well designed small garden and nice patio to view it from. The cottage was clean and had all you needed. We found it a little cramped in the living area and the bathroom. Highlights of our week were our several boat trips, scrumptious meals out and day trips to Eden and Heligan.

Cottage is absolutely first class. Absolutely spotlessly clean. Every amenity you could possibly want including dishwasher and washing machine. Beds very comfortable with beautiful linen. Owner was contactable. No faults at all. I can totally recommend it.

Wonderful Cottage in a lovely region

This cottage is ideally located for exploring Cornwall and the surrounding area. The walk into the center is steep but short. Great little shops and lots of bars and restaurants round off the holiday perfectly. The ferries to Bodinnick and Polruan run at short intervals and enable wonderful circular walks. Be sure to hike the Coastpath to Lantic Beach, visit the Eden Project (be sure to do the roof tour!) and also walk the Saint Way to Golant. We can highly recommend Fowey and the cottage.

Some points

This is a great little cottage. V cosy and v comfortable. V helpful owner and good feeling, wifi was good and access easy, good kitchen equipment and bedding. Some suggestions for consideration: the information book is out of date and is missing some important details eg how to operate the TV, there was no or not much cleaning, dishwashing, dishwasher, washing machine materials for long stays, no mop for floors, little material on Fowey and surrounds (eg maps, information, etc) but overall it was very good

Positive criticism

The garden needs attention weeding etc. Fans are required in the bedrooms. Blackout blinds required. Toilet blocks in loo. The shower is too hot unable to adjust

Thank you for your review Carole, we do pride ourselves on making everything perfect for our guests which is why we send a message at the start of your holiday to check everything is ok for you. Had you let us know we could have fixed all of these things for you at any time during your two week holiday. It was unseasonably hot and we would have purchased fans for you and adjusted the shower temperature immediately had we know and put toilet cleaning blocks in the toilets if we knew that was what you preferred. I'm sad to read this review when I can not fix things for you now. To our future guests, we pride ourselves on high standards and if there is anything you need or want you only have to ask and we will fix it for you.
