Great place to stay with fantastic views

We had a lovely stay, with a friendly host who made sure we had information about the surrounding areas and places to visit. This is the first time a host had spent time with us in the evening for a glass of wine and talking.

Lovely, relaxing, unique location

We had a very relaxing time, and enjoyed ourselves doing very little, sometimes just sitting out on the veranda watching the trees and the day go by. Ellen is a lovely host, and made us feel very welcome.

Marvelous

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had no idea the region was so exciting and diverse.Treetops is a wonderful escape from everyday life, a great place to unwind and relax.Thanks to Ellen, Luis, Raffa, Nina and Pipas who made our stay so special.

Fantastic stay at Treehouse

Me and my husband and our two dogs stayed for 12 days at the Treehouse. We had such a fantastic and relaxing stay enjoying the house and beautiful surroundings. Great host who seemed to thought about everything you possible could need and provided for this. We highly recommend Treehouse!

Good basw

Overall Treetops is a lovely place to stay. Recommend not visiting out of season as local restaurants weren't open and travelling to other towns along narrow roads ar night is not ideal. The owner, Ellen, was very good providing details of places to visit in the area. Great location is you want to some walking as close to Serre D'Arga National Park. The location is very quiet and a nice place to escape the rat race.

Words cannot convey the beauty of Treetops!

A superior accommodation and location high above the beautiful village of Covas. Super comfortable bed and living areas, indoor and out, including barbecue. Fully equipped kitchen with staples provided. Hostess Ellen is like an old family friend immediately, yet never intruded on our stay. She provided excellent tour advice and directions to “secret” spots in the area. Welcoming community and restaurants, lots to see and do. Return each day to Treetops was like arriving in our own private sanctuary complete with a canary aviary! Seemed like the most pleasant spot on earth while we were there!

A wonderful cottage in a special area of Portugal

This was our second stay at this cottage and we were not disappointed. The cottage sits in a secluded part of Ellens garden with spectacular views over Covas and the surrounding area. The cottage is well fitted out with everything you need for a self catering holiday although the restaurant's all serve up delicious food and inexpensive. Ellen has gone to a lot of trouble in identifying all the good spots to visit but you don't have to go to far to find your piece of paradise. The area, people ,food and wine makes your stay special and a must to consider time and time again. Ellen is a wonderful host and is always there to help if needed and of course Rafa the dog always their to greet you when you return home, making sure you are comfortable in the cottage before disappearing till the next time. Everything you need for a vacation, well done Ellen for letting us share your piece of Paradise

A cosy nest in the treetops

We arrived at the same time as a huge low pressure so had to wait until the end of the week before seeing Tree Top Cottage in all its glory. Fortunately Luis had very recently installed a wood pellet burner which fed the central heating and so we were cosy and warm in our treetop hideaway. When the sun eventually showed itself the views were amazing and we can quite understand why Ellen was drawn to this area, it is beautiful. Thank you Ellen for introducing us to village eating, the food was delicious and such good value. Where in the world would you be able to drink a jug of good wine and eat a three course meal followed by coffee for just 6 euros each? Being met by Ellen’s dog Raffa and showed to our accommodation was a first for us but obviously he is quite used to meeting and greeting. He really is adorable and we are surprised that no one has tried to take him back with them.

Thank you for your kind review. Luis and I were so glad we got the heating installed just in time to provide comfort during this unusually cold and rainy spell. Raffa is indeed a superstar and quite a few guests have been tempted to kidnap him. But the 'happy dog of Covas' would rather stay here, doing what he does best.

Nos ha gustado mucho todo,la dueña es encantadora y nos aconsejo lugares para visitar,no tenemos ninguna queja de nada,lo unico con lo que no contabamos era con que la piscina no estaba en la misma casa,esta en casa de los dueños,esta pegada igual,pero si hubiera estado en esta la hubieramos utilizado mas,por lo demas todo perfecto,muchas gracias.

Unos días fantásticos

Hemos estado súper a gusto. Ellen es un amor, nos ha tratado muy bien y nos ha recomendado sitios muy bonitos para visitar. La estancia ha sido muy agradable y nos lo hemos pasado espectacular. Además, su perro Rafa nos ha hecho numerosas visitas al apartamento, es muy simpático también. En conclusión, una experiencia para repetir!

Espectacular

La ubicación y la casa son inmejorables. Zona super tranquila, entorno idílico. Muy recomendable para conocer la sierra norte de Portugal: Ponte da Lima, Vilanova de Cerveira, Viana do Castelo, Caminha... La casa tiene todas las comodidades para pasar unos días. Ellen nos recibió con dos botellas de vino, media docena de huevos caseros y un bote de miel casero también, espectacular. Viajamos con nuestro perro y él también ha disfrutado mucho del jardín. Eso sí, si viajas con un perro 'escapista' o no apto con gatos, hay que tener cuidado, pues la finca es común con los dueños y tienen mas mascotas (Sus perros son adorables y super sociables). Recomendamos gratamente TreeTop y volveremos si tenemos la oportunidad.

Un endroit très apaisant et calme. L’hôtesse est agréable, à l’écoute et présente si besoin, tout en restant discrète.Nous n’avons rien à reprocher à cet endroit. Le seul point négatif, et assez important pour nous, concerne la climatisation : il est indiqué qu’il y a la clim, mais il s’agit en réalité de ventilateurs. Heureusement, il ne faisait pas trop chaud lors de notre séjour, donc cela n’a finalement pas été trop gênant.Nous avons tout de même passé un très agréable moment et recommandons cet endroit.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans ce chalet. Tout était réuni pour passer de belles vacances : un hébergement confortable, très bien équipé, propre et situé dans un environnement paisible. Un grand merci à Ellen pour son accueil et sa gentillesse tout au long de notre séjour. C'est une adresse que nous recommandons.
