Katie is a liar. The house was spotless when she arrived. When she left we found 4 of the 5 mattresses were soaked in urine, not just. a little, absolutely loads of it. 4 bath towels were covered in hair dye, blood and faeces. Hair dye in the bathroom sink and on the wall. Food waste in the outhouse. We've been renting our holiday home for 14 years and Katie is the worst guest we've ever had, by a very very long way indeed. We've had to spend £600 to get the house back into a good state after her visit. I am appalled.

I'm glad to hear that you liked the location - the house is extremely well placed to easily reach all parts of St Ives on foot. You can be in the sea in under ten minutes! I think that we have a very good collection of homely features and we receive many positive comments to this effect. Our house is deliberately not overly posh - it's intended for families to relax and enjoy themselves and we think that the huge basement games room with vintage pinball table and table football really helps kids to enjoy themselves while their parents unwind. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need for self-catering. We provide fresh bed-linen, towels, buckets and spades, board games, outdoor hanging space to dry wetsuits and even have a book-swap. We have chosen not to provide welcome packs; they would only add to the cost and for a self-catering holiday guests need to bring their own supplies anyway. Many guests choose to arrange a supermarket delivery for the day of their arrival. Our housekeepers are professional and conscientious and clean to high standards before and after all guests. There is so, so much more than a Co-op and a chippy on the doorstep! Cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, art galleries and beaches are all within easy reach. St Ives is a delight to explore.

Such a shame that Kevin didn't enjoy staying in our house. This is contrary to all of our other reviews, here and on other letting websites. The shower holder has been fixed. We have a very professional team of housekeepers and receive many comments about the good standards of cleanliness. It's easy to understand how a pair of shoes left on top of a wardrobe went unnoticed and I don't think this would spoil a holiday for most people. I understand that our house is not going to be ideal for everyone as we all see things differently and perhaps it just wasn't the right place for Kevin. I have done my best to describe the house accurately and show clear informative photos and this usually works as most of our guests are very happy. I always respond promptly to any reported problems and if I'm not available our housekeepers can be contacted and will address any issues as quickly as possible.
