We enjoyed our 2nd stay in this trullo a lot, after 7 years service and trulo were perfect again! Thank you Martin and Sharron for your assistence during our stay. The trullo is complete and clean. After our last stay an extra airconditioning was placed, a big plus that all bedrooms have a nice temperature during the night. The pool is nice and big, and is cleaned 2x a week. I can only recommand this trullo

Fantastic property! This was the second year in a row that we have stayed here and we absolutely love it. Martin & Sharron are exceptional hosts, always respond quickly to any questions and provide great recommendations for the local area. The house was lovely and clean and the pool / garden area is ideal for a relaxing break.

Wonderful!

Such a relaxing fabulous holiday! Pool amazing, as weather was superb, sunny everyday & a great entertainment area with BBQ & pizza oven! Martin & Sharon were great hosts & lots of information on restaurants, places to see etc.

Amazing

We had an amazing stay. The whole property was lovely and spotlessly clean. The pool area is great, gets the sun all day long and is nice and quiet. The recommendations were brilliant, we tried quite a few of the restaurants and bars and enjoyed them all. Ceglie is a great little town with a nice atmosphere. The town is an easy drive away with plenty of free parking.

We had an amazing stay at the beautiful Trulli. It was very straight forward to find with the pin that was sent to us prior to our check in. The accommodation itself was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool and the area around it is beautiful and very quiet. Martin and Sharron were great hosts and accommodating and provided us with all the information we needed for the villa and the surrounding area before our arrival. The goodies basket and water was very welcome on arrival! :-)We found the whole experience totally relaxing and a great experience. We would definitely visit again.

Just perfect

What can we say, perfect in every possible way. We were late checking in however property managers were there waiting for us, thank you. Location is wonderful, near 2 beautiful towns and still nice and peaceful. Trullo itself is wonderful, spot on for stay with a teenager. Pool area and grounds very well maintained. Any questions we had were answered promptly. We loved our stay and will definitely book again.

Lovely property in a really nice area of Italy

We had such a great time. The Trulli has been beautifully restored whilst having modern bathrooms, spacious living area, air con etc. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The pool is lovely and the gardens really well maintained. Sharron and Martin were really nice and helpful, thank you both. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!

Fantastic

We've had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful house. It was all we needed and more. Everything was well equiped. Martin and Sharron are more than friendly and helpfull during our vacation. The house is located near many beautiful small towns which are easy to visit. An absolut recommandation!

Puglia Countryside

The trullo is great to stay in although you need to mind your head! It's fully equipped with all you will need and very comfortable. The pool is lovely too. Great to pick your own figs and wander around the plot. It is well positioned to easily explore all of the main towns in the area, all being within about 30 minutes. Sharron and Martin were good property managers - available if needed and with plenty of advice and guidance.

Lovely traditional house in quiet rural setting

We had a wonderful holiday at the Trullo. Sharron and Martin were excellent managers. Pool was fantastic but we spent alot of time exploring Puglia and further afield. Great Adriatic beaches half an hour away, super warm sea and fine sand and not too crowded. Ostuni and Ceglie have many fantastic restaurants and we were spolit for choice on that front! We made the easy 3 hour drive over to Pompeii for a bit of culture, well worth the trip. Puglia is beautiful and largely unspolit and the locals are so friendly. We would recommend this property wholeheartedly.

We had a lovely time here. The villa is comfortable, peaceful and very relaxing. It is exceptionally clean and the change of bedding and towels (including pool towels) mid way through our stay was a very welcome touch after a week of 38/39 degrees! Aircon is good and the pool is perfect. Sharron and Martin could not have been more welcoming and attentive and even managed to find a gluten free welcome gift for one of our daughters! I think they are probably the best hosts we have had!Ceglie is a very lovely place - beautiful and lively, as is Martina Franca. Make sure if you go to Martina Franca you try the pizzeria on the Piazza Maria Immacolata (called Pizzeria da Ricci I think) - it was excellent, including the gf version!San Michele has two really good proper bakeries and a couple of good supermarkets.Car is essential.

Lovely private trullo

Sharron contacted us once the trullo was booked. Her communication was always friendly and helpful. The lists of recommended shops and restaurants on a google map link was very useful. The trullo was lovely with good indoor and outdoor space. Provision of pool towels, cleaning necessities and handwash were appreciated. The pool was great and a very good size. A bit cold to get into, but once in, it was lovely. Private location. Unobtrusive neighbours. Lovely to sit outside on the covered terrace. Not far to Ceglie where there was a range of places to eat and shop. Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay due to family reasons, but would have been very happy to stay for the week. Wifi was slow and sometimes didn't work, but it is a rural location. Our only suggestion would be a few more non wine glasses and maybe some plastic ones to take to the pool. We would highly recommend the property.

Nice property and location

Ceglie Messapica is a great location to stay. The property is nicely located. Not big enough for our family of 6 (4 kids), so we had to use a sofabed in the living room, with was very much worn down. Pool is nice. Garden also nice. Kitchen enough to make some meal. But no dishwasher. Elektric stove. The description of the property on Vrbo does not describe that there is no drinkable water, you need bottled water for everything. When you arrive you will learn that the water comes from a small cisterna. This needs to be filled up, otherwise no showers or washing up with your kids. When we arrived, the pump in the cisterna broke down the same evening, it was about 17 years old the plumber said and it run with an almost empty cisterna, thus burned down. We were without water for the first 2 days. Used water from the pool for toilets and bought plastic plates. That is no holliday. After a farmer came with a tank of water eventually did come and properly filled the tank and plumber with new pump, it all worked fine. Probably a little bit of overdue maintenance. So, location and house is very nice but needs a lot of maintenance and new sofa bed.

Hi Denise. It's a shame you decided to leave a negative review after you were fairly charged for the numerous damages during your stay. You seemed so happy with your stay when you left us. The site does not list a dishwasher at the property. Unfortunately no countryside properties in the region are serviced by mains water, only those in towns. it was unfortunate that the pump did breakdown during your stay, but you fail to mention that it happened late Saturday evening and that i came immediately and got it working again. it failed again on the Sunday and a plumber came on the same day, and replaced the pump on Monday when the pump shop opened. It was unfortunate it happened on a Sunday or it would have been replaced the same day. You also omit to mention that on the Sunday , the neighbour actually connected his water supply to the house, allowing you to shower , wash up and use the bathrooms as normal. i can only think that you say the plumber said low water caused the issue, when this was not the case, because you want to blame us for this problem. You weren't even at the property when the plumber came, As i told you at the time, the plumber could remember installing the pump 17 years previously. I Only hope we get another 17 years problem free from the new pump!

Photos don't do it justice - gorgeous!

We were very pleased with the Trulli and the area, Sharron and Martin were very helpful and responsive. We really enjoyed this part of Puglia and felt we hardly scratched the surface, there is so much to explore. If you love traditional Italian small towns that are asleep in the heat of the day but come alive after 8pm this is the place to come. Ceglie was lovely and not at all touristy, in fact the whole area is still a bit under the radar as far as foreign tourists are concerned. Our Italian is pretty rudimentary and the locals don't speak much English but we got by and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Driving/ parking was pretty easy and much less of a Mario Cart experience than in other parts of the country! The accommodation is very, very nice, modern bathrooms, comfortable beds etc. The kitchen is a bit basic but that goes with the territory in Italy and there are some low ceilings in the bedroom area - I think we all banged our heads at least once, but that's the price you pay for staying in a converted Trulli. The pool is beautiful and the location of the Trulli is gorgeous. You do need to relax into semi-rural Italian life but if that is something you enjoy doing this is definitely somewhere we would recommend trying. And finally it is very reasonable - having just been in London before flying here it was a revelation!! And as we live in Colorado and had to have customs info. for our return we made sure to keep all the receipts for the gifts we bought ourselves as I wasn't sure customs would believe us on some things. Magnifique et reposant! Vous êtes plongés au milieu d un habitat reposant avec des hôtes extraordinaires. Tout est fait pour que vous soyez bien. Le logement est complet avec une mention spéciale pour le four à pizza et la piscine. Concernant le logement, les chambres et le séjour sont climatisées, la terrasse est à l ombre , vous pouvez prendre tranquillement votre café le matin avec un bonne cafetière italienne. Pour nous , qui sommes en France, le dépaysement est total. TV connectée, si vous ne voulez pas sortir . Merci aux hôtes qui vous conseille des restos , des plages et autres lieux à être. Allez y sans problème , Sharon et Martin sont au top. Merci à eux , ils sont vraiment de bons conseillers.

Fijn verblijf op sfeervolle plek!

We hebben een super tijd gehad (begin oktober nog 28*C, dus alleen maar buiten gezeten)! Heerlijke buitenruimte: verschillende terrassen met zitjes met zicht op een mooi zwembad. Wel een beetje jammer dat regelmatig een pomp (?) aansloeg met een bromtoon, maar op gegeven moment hoor je dat niet meer. Het perceel is heel erg diep (met vruchten- en notenbomen), maar wel smal. De Italiaanse buren kun je dan ook goed horen als ze buiten zijn, maar dat heeft ook wel wat. Ze kunnen (als ze dat zouden willen) wel (deels) het zwembad zien, waardoor je daar iets minder privacy hebt. De wifi is traag, maar aanwezig. Binnenruimte: het huis zelf is best ruim voor een trullo, elke ruimte was leuk ingericht en had een raam, dus het is gelukkig geen donker hol. Ook fijn dat er een aparte keuken was (maar helaas geen afzuiging). De centrale hal/trullo ligt dieper dan de andere ruimtes, waardoor je een trede af moet om er te komen, en je moet daarbij ook nog bukken om je hoofd niet te stoten (wat bij ons een paar keer fout ging..). Ook bukken voor de master bedroom, die lekker ruim is, met bed met stevig matras. 1 van de 2 badkamers zou wel een facelift kunnen krijgen, maar is op zich goed te doen. Martin en Sharron die het beheer doen laten je lekker met rust, maar zijn snel en vriendelijk in het reageren, en zeer hulpvaardig. Al met al een fijne tijd gehad, en zeker aan te bevelen.

Maison pleine de charme dans un coin fabuleux tout proche de Ceglie Messapica. Propriété au calme et bien entretenue. Très bonne communication avec Sharron et Martin qui sont de très bons conseils. Nous avons passé un super séjour!

Umgebauter Trulli mit schönem Pool

Wir haben diesen Herbst zum zweiten mal unseren Urlaub in diesem Haus verbracht. Der umgebaute Trulli hat eine angenehme Größe mit zwei Schlafzimmern und zwei Bädern. Die Küche ist einfach, aber vollkommen ausreichend, da man in Ceglie Messapica eine tolle Auswahl an besonderen Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe hat. Unsere Lieblingsplätze waren aber außerhalb des Hauses. Zum einen die überdachte Terrasse, die es einem ermöglicht, selbst bei Regen draußen zu sein. Zum anderen der schön angelegte Pool, in dem man richtig schwimmen kann. Ende September wird er natürlich ein bisschen kühler, aber das war uns bewusst und hat uns auch nicht gestört. Erwähnenswert ist auch noch die gute Betreuung vor Ort durch Sharron und Martin. Und die Listen mit Empfehlungen für Restaurants, Geschäfte und Strände in der Nähe, die man von den beiden zur Verfügung gestellt bekommt.

Beautiful house

The house is very ncely renovated with beautiful garden and pool. We enjoyed our stay and our kids had a lot of fun with the pool, playing in the garden and pizza backing. The location is perfect to explore the coasts of Puglia and the beautiful beaches. The communication with the owners was very nice and helpful.
