We had a lovely stay at the cottage, which was well equipped with everything we needed. Our overall impression was very positive. The attention to detail and decorative touches made the cottage feel warm and homely. The downstairs rooms are spacious, and the layout good. The location is great. It's situated with cities, retail parks, and major attractions all within a short drive, while still being in a town surrounded by fields and public footpaths—ideal for dog walking. There were just a few minor drawbacks. Although mentioned in the listing, the lack of an enclosed outdoor space meant having to get dressed to take our dog out early each morning, which wasn't ideal when on holiday! The cottage is also located on a busy road, and many drivers ignored the 30mph speed limit & traffic noise could be loud. We stayed during a warm spell & had the windows open during the day, but needed to close them at night to avoid being disturbed. As 2 of the 3 bedrooms are at the front, they became warm overnight as a result. Our only other niggle was with the bathrooms. While it's good to have the option of a bath, the only shower is in the smaller bathroom. Adding a shower over the bath in the main bathroom would be a relatively inexpensive improvement. Even with just 3 of us staying, there was a queue for the shower each morning.Overall though, these are fairly minor points and don't detract from what was a very enjoyable stay.
