3 lakefront buildings

Our property is situated on beautiful, private Forest Lake and has 1000 feet of water frontage complete with our large U shaped dock as its centrepiece. Come hang out with nature in all of its glory. Enjoy one of our many balconies with nature surrounding you while you listen to the call of the loons, and watch eagles swoop down to catch the many rainbow trout dancing on the lake. You may spot deer, moose or beaver as you sip you coffee or favorite beverage. Enjoy an evening with your family around the beautiful outdoor fire pit under a blanket or stars and at times the northern lights. Relax in the outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake. Cook in one of three indoor kitchens or enjoy the fabulous outdoor screened in kitchen. Enjoy the many water toys provided for you: paddleboards (summer only), kayaks, canoes and a rowboat. Head across the lake to the rope swing ( all at your own risk). Or just go for a swim in warm crystal blue water.

Rainbow Trout Resort is easy to access. It is situated between Hwy 5 (Yellowhead) and Adams Lake. We also have easy paved road access off Agate Bay Road and are just 15 minutes from shopping, 15 minutes from Adams Lake, 45 minutes from Sun Peaks Resort and 50 minutes from Kamloops.

We are not accepting bachelor, bachelorette, or groups that are centered on partying. We are accepting family groups and groups who will respect the resort, nature, the surrounding lake, and the community.

We are open year round to experience all the seasons:

April 1 - June 15: FISHING PARADISE ! This is the best time to fish as the lake begins to turn and the beautiful rainbows begin to jump! Forest Lake is stocked by fisheries and I have heard from previous guests of catching 8-9 pounders!

June 15 - Sept 5: Summertime Fun - What it's all about campfires, barbecues, swimming, boating spending good times and making many memories with family and friends, book one of our homes or cabins or experience the ultimate and book the whole property for yourself. Experience the North Thompson's legendary hours of sunshine and heat next to the cool lake. Book early to get the best times as the summer fills up fast.

Sept 5 - Nov 1: Colourful Autumn - This may be Forest Lake at its prettiest! Enjoy all beautiful yellows and reds around Forest Lake, great photography. Also 35 minutes from the famous Adams River Run go see the many colours as the thousands of salmon spawn.

Nov 1 - Feb 28: Classic Canadian Winter Experience - Experience the glistening snow, and peaceful in your cozy cabin experience or in our beautiful log chalet with gourmet kitchen and wood burning fireplace. Typically into December Forest Lake becomes this frozen showpiece to experience ice skating or ice fishing. Also there are many trails for snowshoeing and of course there are easy day trips to ski B.C.'s famous ski resort, Sun Peaks.

Rooms were clean. Yard was clean. Lots of fun things to do at the lake.Google maps will take you too far. Make sure to use Apple maps to find it

The setting is just wonderful — lakeside on a long, narrow, private lake. The main building (the Chalet) is great for a family gathering, with a large living room, a long inside dining table, a great/large, long outside dining table and a pleasant seating area. Our timing wasn’t great, as a slew of raging forest fires throughout BC’s Interior coated the property/area in smoke that, on 3 days, required our older family members to stay inside for most of the day. The large dock and available watercraft (canoes and kayaks) were put to good use. We also used the outdoor volleyball area to play badminton when it wasn’t too breezy. The shortfalls were: very spotty WIFI, especially bad in the two out-buildings; the one bathroom in the master bedroom was fine, but the only other one (near the washer-dryer) was very small/narrow — not really adequate for the number of beds/guests; the oven is not moored properly (it tilted when we were baking some pies, spilling pie fillings into the bottom of the oven; the barbq, while nice-looking, heats aggressively on the right but there is a lack of heat on the left, so the person doing the bbqing must actively move around the food to get a semi-even cook. Against the negatives, the positives certainly outweighed, and our family enjoyed their/our time at the Rainbow Trout Resort. Thanks.

This place is a little piece of heaven. We had the best time and loved everything about our stay. The photos don’t do it justice. The setting is even better in person. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spot. Highly recommend.

Family Trip

It was an amazing experience with breathtaking views and something to do for all age groups. The star gazing at night was my favorite. The hosts were super nice and very responsive. We will definitely come back again.

Beautiful family day weekend

This was a wonderful weekend of skating on the lake, ice fishing, home cooked dinners, hot tubbing, snow angels, and smores on the campfire. Manager was accessible and friendly, accommodating on our last minute schedule.

A beautiful location and wonderful experience.

The property was beautiful as was the Chateau. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rainbow Trout Resort. We especially enjoyed going out on the canoe and kayaks.

We spent a few days at the Rainbow Trout lodge during winter. The property is right on a frozen lake which is just so beautiful. The house has big windows so you can enjoy the view while sitting in front of the fire place. It was nice to enjoy the hot tube while the kids played outside in the snow. We were a big group but the kitchen was well equipped and labeled to know your way around the kitchen. There was more than enough towels and blankets. It took us under and hour to get to Sun Peaks to ski, but is was relaxing coming back after a busy day. We had a lovely time!

Cabin

Spent a weekend there skiing. Many sweet things about this cabin- wood fireplace, hot tub, comfortable seating. Not set up well super well for big groups with showers or rooms, but it was overall great.

Lovely place

Love this property. Stayed here twice now and love waking up to the amazing lake view. Its right by the lake with canoes available. Beautiful quiet neighborhood. Highly recommended

Company Retreat

We had a great experience staying at Rainbow Trout Resort. The weather was great, the property is beautiful. Easy access right off the main road, you can hear vehicles driving by, but its pretty much unnoticable. Such a peaceful resort, with the private dock and a serene lake. No cell reception in this area, however, the wifi had great signal for 12 guests.

Awesome time!

Great place to stay! Our church group had lots of fun. Loved everything about it. Would definitely recommend! Only challenge was wifi was a bit weak but our group didn’t seem to really mind at all.

Beautiful and clean

2 years now we have rented this beautiful resort. Our group had a great laughs and wonderful comfortable sleeps. I would recommend this cabin with scenic views of the lake and mountains while sitting anywhere inside or out! Truly a little piece of paradise!

This place brings people together!

Amazing!!

This is such an incredible location for medium to large groups. We just had such a fun weekend playing volleyball on the grass, swimming in the lake, cooking up summer meals on the BBQ, and more. We highly recommend staying at this location if you enjoy the outdoors and enjoy having all your amenities at your fingertips.

Peaceful and serene getaway!

Tracy and Brooks were lovely hosts. We had a great time at the property with no issues! Everything was clean and comfortable, with ample space for guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this property to others looking for a place in the area! Hot tub, fire pit (both propane and real wood), lawn for games and a private lake. It was paradise.

Rainbow Trout Resort

Awesome place! We love it because it's great for all ages. The private beach makes it relaxing to watch children. Each family could have their space in the separate homes. Everyone had a great time kayaking, lounging and playing games. Thanks Shawn and Tracy!

Amazing as usual!

Came back for the winter holidays. Amazing location and Log Home, love the lake and the isolation. Came with entire family of 14, ever felt crowded. One of our favorites summer or winter.

Stayed here with my parents, sisters, niece and nephews as well as my husband - 10 adults, 3 children under 5. The pros: very private, nicely landscaped with grass for the kids to run around, direct access to the lake. Very nice to have a private dock. Fire pit was nice and big for everyone to sit around. Hosts were responsive. Beautiful property.The cons - dirty, like gross dirty, especially the shack and chalet. We saw the negative reviews regarding cleaning and reached out in advance and were reassured this issue had been fixed - it had not. Talking cob webs on all the lights, someone’s bathing suit hanging off a door, the bath mat was nasty, BBQ looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Also only the main house is stocked with kitchen stuff. The chalet had one spoon and the shack was very bare. There were expired food items like a can of soup from 2023 and spices that expired in 2019. Also no toiletries aside from hand soap provided. Not great considering the price. Advice if you are going to- bring your own pillows and towels. Also there aren’t blinds or blinds are broken in many of the sleeping areas so bring a mask.Despite this I truly would want to return but only if these issues were significantly fixed, truly the shack and chalet need a major renovation. In its current state, especially with the lack of cleanliness I would not go back. Little things could make this a 10/10 property!
