We spent a week in mid-September at the house and were very happy with the experience. Even before arrival, we received quite a few recommendations from our hosts on where to shop, dine and take part in other activities in the area.Upon arrival, we were met by our incredibly friendly host, which was welcome, and were given a tour of the space. The house was clean and well furnished, and the 1.5 bathrooms were perfect for our party of four. The kitchen was big and well stocked with equipment, including quality pots and pans, dishes and knives. We were also pleased by our hosts’ prompt responses to our queries throughout the week. The house is located at the base of a high valley, in an incredibly beautiful location surrounded by mountains and farm animals - cows, horses, sheep and ducks. The large Cinqueterre-esque town of Mutriku is only ten minutes away along the coastline, where there are wonderful restaurants, bars and two stunning salt-water pools. The house also sits directly adjacent to a narrow stretch of the Camino del Norte, a walking trail that extends from the French border (Irún) all the way to the northwest corner of Spain (Santiago de Campostela). During our stay, pilgrims walked past each morning and waived as we sat outside with our breakfast. If green expanses, dramatic landscapes and peaceful vibes are to your liking, you will love these accommodations.
